Speculation surrounding Viktor Gyokeres and Barcelona is gathering pace, with a new report claiming the Catalan giants are now studying a potential loan deal for the Arsenal striker.
We reported earlier this week that Gyokeres had allegedly made it known that he would be interested in joining Barcelona. At that stage, however, the question was whether the Spanish champions actually wanted to make a move.
A fresh claim from KrrishFT on X suggests Barcelona sporting director Deco is now considering exactly that.
According to the report, Gyokeres has been offered to Barcelona through his representatives in recent days, with the Catalans studying the possibility of taking him on loan for the remainder of the season.
Barcelona reportedly considering €60m option
The report claims Barcelona would be prepared to pay Arsenal a loan fee and cover Gyokeres’ salary for the season.
Rather than pursuing a permanent transfer immediately, they are reportedly considering a loan containing an option to buy the Sweden international for €60million.
It is important to stress that the proposed terms have not been confirmed by either club and the discussions are described as being at an early stage.
Barcelona are considering other attacking options as they attempt to strengthen their squad before deadline day, so there is certainly no guarantee their interest in Gyokeres will develop into a formal offer.
Nevertheless, the latest claim is interesting given the growing uncertainty surrounding the striker’s position at Arsenal.
Gyokeres failed to get on the pitch during Arsenal’s 3-0 victory over Coventry City on Friday evening, despite being named among the substitutes.
As Dan Smith discussed on Just Arsenal this morning, competition for places means established players will inevitably miss out, but Gyokeres’ lack of involvement comes while speculation about his future continues.
Would Arsenal sanction a late Gyokeres exit?
The report claims Arsenal would only give the green light to a Barcelona move if Mikel Arteta approved the departure and a suitable replacement was secured before the transfer deadline.
That would appear particularly important given how little time Arsenal would have to respond if Gyokeres were allowed to leave.
The report also claims the striker would push for the move, describing Barcelona as his dream destination.
There is still a considerable distance between Barcelona studying the possibility of a loan and Arsenal actually agreeing to let Gyokeres leave.
However, when combined with the previous reports surrounding the striker’s interest in Barcelona and his lack of minutes against Coventry, this is certainly a situation worth keeping an eye on as deadline day approaches.

€60m for Gyokeres is derogatory considering what other players have gone for.
Our squad is almost complete and fully efficient. We won’t weaken it to help the Catalan club. We want to add quality to our frontline, not remove quality. Moreover, right now, they are our rivals for the CL so why should we strengthen them to our own detriment
Jesus is available if they want
He can leave if there’s a better replacement…
If we can have Julian Alvarez as a replacement then by all means you can sign Victor gyorkes

I’ve already asked the question on another post, but I’ll ask you anyway. Do you really think Alvarez will score more than the 21 goals that Gyokeres scored in his settling in season?.
He can leave if there’s a better replacement…
I’m yet to be convinced of what the massive gulf in quality there is between Alvares and Gyokeres to warrant the discounted sale of the latter to fund the acquisition of the former who has demonstrated open disdain for our club.
If I had my way, I’d say our transfer business is as good as done.
Trossard has been effectively replaced with Tzolis. So, keep Martinelli and Gyokeres and let’s move on. The less disruption to the chemistry of the team, the better.

OT – Gomes has been red carded against Brighton and AV is losing horribly. Gomes will now be suspended for the game against us at Villa Park.
Ido not believe for one minute, whatever happens, that we would loan Gyokores out. If we did, it would show that the planning at this club is poor. He stays or he goes, not farm him out because we got it completely wrong in the window. Its a non story. Sell or keep.
They took Rashford on loan, but didn’t pay cheap price to make it permanent. So they will likely send him back, we should bear in mind as we bring in his replacement.
We are being linked with Hen, so who knows what’s really going on. But how do we get a Gyokeres replacement in without any transfer money?
Hard to imagine big moves – where it only happens if you get replacement, and where you got replacement from need a replacement, like a chain – all happening at the last minute, so if we make one more big signing, if there’s to be surprises, it’s likely in the coming days as the clock ticks down.
This looks a little untidy …..
Just how the fellow fought his way to be with us and before we have even owned him then there’s this bad talk ….
Transfer Windows tend to be untidy as a rule? Little club fear star player being taken, at last minute, bigger clubs feel disruption from their better players being cherry picked, and so on up the chain with the untidiness when it can happen so late, they lost their player so they come for yours.
Even where we are, as The Arsenal right now, transfer windows are full of dangers not just untidyness. Some “representatives” of “someone” offered Skelly to Chelsea and Man Utd – Arsenal spent a week not ruling his move out, meanwhile Arteta may or may not be on speaking terms with Martinelli after refusal to go to Turkey. Gyokeres may have had his head turned by Barca – who now want him on loan, Arteta may have had a phone call with Alvarez begging him to join us.
It’s disruption to things you don’t want disrupted.
I posted last year that KH will always be ahead of VG as MA loves him and that’s because VG is not MA signing but a AB signing.
VG has probably realised his days were numbered especially after a phone call to JA
It will b interesting to see who out of KH and JA will get the regular game time, I also think they maybe KH might be in this position next year
