BIG Arsenal win to put pressure on Chelsea?

Any win for Arsenal over today’s visitors to north London would take the Gunners to just two points behind Chelsea, who currently sit fifth in the Premier League table and have seen their own top four hopes disappear after losing their long unbeaten home record against Tottenham last weekend, but a big win for Arsenal could help to pile even more pressure onto the Blues before they face West Ham later today.

While our season in the EPL has been even worse than theirs, it is not by much and we are starting to find form while Chelsea are looking increasingly troubled and now face a struggle to stay in fifth, never mind finishing in the top four.

The Stamford Bridge fans will not be happy and the players probably know that they are ready for yet another change of manager, so all is not well and I reckon that Arsenal have an outside chance of finishing above them at the end of the current season. That may not mean a lot but it would put a positive spin on a bad year for Arsenal fans.

I would love to see the Gunners play with real flair and intent against Southampton today and if we do then the goals should flow again as they did on Thursday. Do you think, if that happens, it might just force a slip from our London rivals?

  1. Could not care less about PL table. In fact, I think it would benefit us not play European football next season no matter who the manager is. So let’s win the EL and qualify for the CL that way or not play in Europe at all.

Playing one game a week is a massive advantage. Look at Chelsea winning the PL with no European football. For a team as injury prone and as thin on talent as ours not playing the EL would suit me fine.

    CL or bust!!!!!

    1. Right about now, Europa league is where we really belong, if you wanna be honest and realistic

  2. I think you meant Burnley win put BIG pressure on Arsenal. We are not competing with Chelsea, our attention and class have fallen down to that of Burnley, and they won yesterday. Chelsea will win so however big we win won’t scare them, they are a class above us, let’s worry about someone who’s about to overtake us

      1. Please mention the name of the club that won the league last season? And how many years have we missed on it?

      1. I think the fossils logic .. And that of his cortisans … is that 6th place is very difficult now … Just ask the 14 clubs below us … So if we finish 5th we have done better than expected and I deserve a lifetime contract … Oh and we should pay Rambo a million quid a week coz he’s irreplaceable like me …

    1. qualifying for next seasons europa league if southampton win fa cup and we dont win europa league. A big “if” but if it happened southampton would qualify ahead of 6th place team in premier league

  3. it’s a big shame..how the invincible club has fallen, once the pride of not just London or England but the whole of Great Britain…now we are battling with Burnley…please God my father rise our club again to supreme heights and let the suffering arsenal fans have joy and pride again in Jesus name i pray..Amen…….i believe in Gazidis!!!……#believeinGazidis

  4. Line up for today’s game is out and Ramsey is neither starting nor on bench?

Could he be injured again? It goes to show how “irreplaceable” he is…
