Blanc to block transfer of Rabiot to Arsenal?

It was only yesterday that we heard about the latest Arsenal transfer rumour involving the search for a possible player to cover for, and compete with, the likes of Mathieu Flamini and Mikel Arteta, and Francis Coquelin of course when he is fit again after his injury lay-off.

The player in question was Adrien Rabiot and the young PSG midfielder himself was the source of the report as he very confidently spoke about his desire for more regular game time and the fact that he had asked for, and fully expected to get, a loan move away from the French champions in January.

Rabiot declared that the chairman was bound to let him leave as he only wants what is best for the player. Well maybe he should have sounded out his manager a bit more as well, because Laurent Blanc has added his opinion and it certainly is not the same as Rabiot’s as a report in the Express reveals.

Blanc said, “It annoys me. I don’t want to say anymore and I’m going to concentrate on tomorrow’s match.

“Adrien has to understand that when you have the possibility of going at the end of your contract and to leave for free, you can do it.

“Otherwise, when you sign a contract of five years with PSG, you have to respect your first club.”

The PSG boss is referring to the new deal signed by the young player last season, when there were many rumours linking him with Arsenal and other clubs as his contract was about to run out. The thing that was making him want to leave was his lack of regular football and that is the same thing making him seek a loan move now.

But will Blanc block his move and is it even up to him, or will the chairman do what Rabiot said and let him go? Arsenal and Arsene Wenger need to know because we cannot be messing about once the transfer window opens.
