Bournemouth v Arsenal Review – Excellent Arsenal fully deserve to be fighting for Top Four now

This is the veritable six pointer with the Cherries just four points below Arsenal in the League table and our closest challengers, but more importantly, due to Chelsea’s defeat yesterday we can leapfrog our neighbours into the Top Four and make a real statement of our intentions.

But as usual the Gunners decided to make hard work of it with a slow start and when Bournemouth scored after just 8 minutes it was like Groundhog Day, but thankfully the linesman spotted an offside and we were back in it. We bounced back straight away and Torreira went down the other end and hit the post, but it was looking like a tactical standoff from both sides and Arsenal were getting slightly more of the ball.

On the half hour we got lucky with an excellent own goal from Lerma with no Arsenal players anywhere near. 1-0 to the Arsenal, but could we actually keep a lead until half time?

W kept up the pressure and nearly doubled our lead a few minutes before the whistle but Iwobi got robbed of the ball. But of course we couldn’t keep the lead as usual, with Joshua King finishing an excellent move to shoot past Leno with only Bellerin trying to get a block. Typical bleedin Arsenal! 1-1 half-time.

Okay let’s be confident that Arsenal always play better in the second half, and we were looking more in control and more confident, but we still didn’t manage to take the lead until the 67th minute, and of course it was Aubameyang who was waiting in the box for the cross from Kolasinac. Okay so far so good can Arsenal keep this lead? 2-1 to Arsenal!

A few minutes later Mhki gets a ball in the box as well but loses control and then mises the goal by a country mile. He really is lacking in confidence that lad, but at least Arsenal are looking more like a Top Four side and we have scored more second half goals than any other side in the Premier League. 21 in fact! Now we just need to keep possession andf frustrate the Cherries until we get another break…

With 15 mins to go Emery takes off the very hard-working Torreira and puts on Guendouzi, but Bournemouth very quickly gets the equaliser but the strikers taps it tamely to Leno. And Ramsey gets a run out in place of Iwobi. Maybe the fresh legs can get us the decisive goal.

Of course Arsenal never make it easy band Leno’s post was rattled with five mins to go, and he was bowled over just two mins later after another Cherries attack. A free kick on the edge of the area in the last minute made for a scarey finale but Stanislav slammed it over the bar. Phew!!!

Now one point behind Chelsea and 3 behind the Spuds. We have to win the North London Derby!!!

  1. A win, but they should have done better due to the long preparation time. Most players were awful, seemed to be uninterested and looked awkward in the 3-4-2-1 formation, but I will blame Emery and the staffs for not being able to motivate and prepare the players better

In my opinion, the worst player in the pitch was Mkhitaryan, as if he has lost his skills, confidence and stamina. My MOTM is Kolasinac, because he made Bournemouth scored an own goal and assisted Aubameyang

They had better get themselves together before the upcoming Tottenham game, because I predict it is going to be a tough derby

    1. Spot on gotanidea, Micky is one of does luxury players we don’t need, and one of the failures of Arsene Wenger’s transfer policy. And honestly I think he is one of the reasons why Ramsey isn’t important to the team anymore. He was awful today. Am glad we won eventually.

    2. Long preparation, most of ours players were involved in international games and some of them were injured!do you know what’s going on in the football world?

      1. Sue,Then why don’t you do as I did, below on this thread, and call the Admin and his lying headline “untruthful”? Perhaps if a few more of us who know whats what were more upfront he would cease insulting our intelligence with stupid headlines which HE KNOWS are a lie.

          1. Sue is right Jon, Admin is/are the boss and he/they is/are the referee, not a wise decision you offer up Jon, unless this is a sneaky tactic of you trying to manipulate an other into doing your bidding. Did no-one ever tell you that you don’t manipulate females, they manipulate you!

            1. Great banter and you make a good point on the “female” point , I agree. But I intensely like dishonesty with oneself and as I am convinced the Admin did NOT think it an excellent perf, for the simple reason that he has sight and a brain , I MUST call him out. You either accept dishonesty or you don’t . And I DON’T!

      2. Opponent’s bring a game plan too. I missed the game, so I’ll watch it tonight, but away at Bournemouth ..every-one of us believed it was a potential banana skin when we were in here yesterday.

Delighted for the win!!! This was a massive!!! three points …because we were away from home at an in-form side, and because of the fixtures coming up, also because we’ve drawn the last three before today. Huge three points, it could’ve been a much, much worse start to the busy season. Well done Arsenal, and you can tell that Emery believed it was the potential banana skin that the rest of us believed. He dropped Ozil and took off Torriera (tott in mind), changed formation because teams were starting to read our – diagonal linkup – off of and along with the wingers.

  2. I know most guys on here will have a lot to moan about as usual but am simply glad we won, its all about snapping of our run of draws.

Emery has a difficult job to do there, Lacazette is far better than Aubameyang, Ozil and Mkhitaryan are almost useless, thank God Ramsey is gone.
Making the top 4 will be solo difficult but am hopeful, Spurs next!

    1. We need to put things in the right perspective. Its no news that when space is restricted in a match a player like Auba can’t do anything.Hence why I keep stressing a player like him must not start at LW because when we are in a tight match he can’t do anything over there.Earlier in the season I felt we were playing with 9 men in the team with him and Ozil on the wings.Iwobi to me is not that good but will give a fullback something to think about.

      1. Premier League Stats:

        Aubameyang: 26 matches – 18 goals – 5 assists
        Lacazette: 44 matches – 19 goals – 6 assists

So who is the better striker? According to the EPL stats. Laca has missed 18 big chances in 44 games. I think he should be scoring more considering he plays in a central position unlike Auba.

        1. Andrew the statman
Well, good stats you have up there, but I was talking more about all round play as against scoring alone, you may agree with me that Auba when not scoring is almost useless regardless of whether he plays on the wings or not, he, like Ozil is too one dimensional for me.

In my opinion, he is a glorified Vardy..man can’t do anything with the ball, and don’t forget he has also missed great scoring opportunities too mate

          1. That is exactly how I would call it too. If he does not score then Auba contributes very little else, unlike Laca who is a far better line leader and who links play better AND works far harder.

        2. @Eddie.

Why don’t people come to the conclusion – That both those players hitting those numbers, are better than going with one of them even if he does slightly improve on his numbers.

We don’t have any wide players that can come close to those stats. We don’t have any wide players who can make those dangerous runs in behind towards the goal and in behind towards the flanks. We don’t have any wide players that know where a striker is wanting the ball to come across from out wide, and also knowing the height and pace of a ball he would prefer/read. The stuff Auba has going for him, and the stuff Lacazette has going for him, because they know each others minds better than most. We just don’t have this stuff in our other wide players. It is not all pro’s, yeah fair enough, there is a con or two also.

Anyways, I thought Mkhit was going to kick it up a notch this season, from having worked with Auba and Sokratis when blitzing it in Germany one season. It never happened, he has really let us down with this aspect. We should be talking about him, and there a lack of. Or where? the goals and assists are gonna come from, from a wide position without Aubameyang!

      1. Sue,

In my opinion, i think we are a bit under pressure, you know we haven’t won in 4 games now, we also needed to close the gap on B’mouth and Man U.
The problem is, we fans always think it is easy to just go to a place and win, every match is difficult and comes with a different approach.
Am sure we will do better against Spurs even though its not gonna be easy

          1. Sue,

I believe we will do better next week, because with Emery every match is approached differently, with a definate plan, that alone makes me feel confident.

      2. If you really follow the pl Bournemouth weren,t 6th by chance and gave big teams problems !so be happy with the 3 points

  3. Delighted with the win but still seriously worried by our defending, we always look like conceding! And cannot go into half time leading ever! I’d offload Mkh and Mustafi in January replace them with Leon Bailey and Kevin the carrot! Onto Vorskla next COYG

      1. He’d be a different animal with better players, not sure about Thauvin he was awful at Newcastle but like bailey could be a different animal with better players we will see ☺

  4. Glad to have bagged the 3 points… just hope next Sunday we don’t make hard work of it..spuds won’t score us an own goal – wimmer has gone now ?

        1. Glad your not the only one that thinks that Sue ? haha I’d love to beat them controversially so they can moan how they were robbed ?

            1. Don’t worry Sue if we play like we did against Liverpool we got this! Emery won’t let us down he knows this is the most important game of the season he will fire them up.. have faith ??

  5. It’s kind of funny how people were lambasting Iwobi left, right and centre but you put every player who plays LW in this same kind of match and they wouldn’t do better than him.He was doubled up upon by the Bournemouth players especially in the second half when he had the ball at the LW.I can guarantee you that Auba at the LW today would be far worse. Why?This is because Bournemouth defended in a way such that there was no space to run in behind and passing lanes in the defense wee closed. If these two things are not present for Auba he will not have a good game except in the case of a counter as shown in this match. For those also saying we miss Ozil I hope you haven’t forgotten how bad he’s been this season and even in these kind of fast paced matches in his Arsenal career where he is more of a passenger. For someone on such a high wage and being our so called best player you would’ve thought that his fans would’ve pit things into perspective before saying such things.I must also stress on how Xhaka is nothing special and is not built for fast paced games like this match.Even Ramsey would be done better had he started.I cannot end without recognising how dreadful Mustafi is and how he gives away needless free kicks.Im waiting for the stats lovers to come and defend him this him round.Oh wait! He’s been average this season.

    1. No Ramsey would not. He’s been poor this year and no reason to suggest he would have done anything to improve the balance, defense, or attack.

Iwobi had a bad game; just admit he was poor and will come back better next time.

This game showed how desperately we need wingers rather than Bellerin and Kola as wingbacks.

Stan over to you you cheap ba$tard

      1. You are not getting my point.Ramsey can’t do any worse than him and even though he’s been bad this season he’s not been as error prone as Xhaka who’s errors have cost us goals this season. It only takes some matches for him to improve and get some form.Even Xhaka has infinitisemall improved this season despite being average.Without game time he wouldn’t have.
I’m not trying to defend Iwobi but I’m trying to make people know that in this team he’s by far the best LW not because he’s good but because the rest are worse and f I were to be honest he doesn’t even have a direct competitor over there.I hope he’s not benched for the two tough matches coming up.

        1. Xhaka has only made an error that cost us a goal, not goals, you can check premierleague.com to confirm, this is coming from a stat lover

            1. Ramsey been here 10 years compared to Xhaka’s couple years. Many of us are still trying to figure out what Ramsey is good at besides running. Passing? Technique? Marking? Interceptions?

He should have been shipped out in the Summer.

I don’t laugh about Sanchez at Utd anymore because we have our own albatross with Mhki. He is robbing the club for a paycheck every week. Need to sell stat for anything

                1. Admin won’t let me use an expanded vocabulary due to “offensive” language. Absolutely reasonable stance from administration I would add.

Mhki’s performances are offensive to the eyes, and hopefully will move to a league better suited to his abilities. Better off selling Sanchez for £30 million rather than a swap.

Only thing the swap did was enrich millionaire players and enrich their agents. Arsenal and Utd got hosed quite frankly, both better off selling for reduced price.

          1. I like Xhaka but he gave the ball away twice in the last five minutes in our third. Either of them could have led to a goal. He must do better because other thanight that I thought he was good.

Holding is looking better and better every game. Socrates unfortunately looked at times like he should have been in a greco-romantic wrestling pit. And Mustafi does my nut in, he’ll make a brilliant play and then follow it up with some brain fart a la the free kick in injury time. Looking forward to Kos and Mavraponas being available

        2. Xhaka has been excellent this season, Ramsey not so much. I swear iwobis throughballs created both chances that we scored from. So no idea what you’re taking about. One thing we can agree on is Mustafi should not be playing for arsenal. He never makes the right choice

  6. Mhikitaryan is so so poor..I expected a win, I’m glad we got it, but I’m convinced Holding and Sokratis should be our main CBs now.. I’ve had enough of Mustafi, Xhaka keeps making silly mistakes.. Seriously, Emery will need to ship out half of the team to build his.. Kolasinac takes all the credit today, not forgetting Leno who keeps saving us

    1. Xhaka is nothing special and Mustafi is dreadful. Its a headscratcher to think some people feel these two are good enough for our starting eleven.Mind you I wouldn’t even have them on the bench and won’t complain if the club take a loss on both these two players by giving them out for free.

      1. Oh Sue your baby boy takes all of it today, credits where it’s due but be rest assured I’ll not hold back either whenever he performs badly

          1. we are watching the same guy eddie, sue? i thought he was poor and the sole reason why holding had to move up on the left in the second half, bad at passing scared of having the ball when pressured, not good signs for a defender, don’t get me wrong a lucky charm or lucky guy whatever you want to call it that he is for sure, because that terrible cross to nobody that got the own goal will mask the reality of how bad of a player he really is, or the cross shot to begovic, even the keeper was like wow so bad i got surprised!!

i’m just sayin didn’t see mustafi move up like holding did because someone was leaving huge gaps by not tracking back… the worst part was when he missed and the ball went into the side netting, any player would bust a gut to get back in position!! but NO he was just holding his head on the floor surf board position waiting for what? it seemed like an eternity before he eventually trotted back, yes trotted back!!

OUT ASAP luck won’t last forever, don’t be fooled Lady and Gents he’s Santos in the making

  7. Excellent arsenal;fully deserve to be in top 4 now .
Sorry admin but they were far from excellent quite the opposite from the match I was watching .
Another game like the last 15 where we seem to play just well enough to get a result , we are miles off the top 2 and quite a bit behind spurs and Chelsea . But until he can get rid of some of the players and gets the players in he wants there’s not much more we can ask from him to be fair . Best players today for me were both the wing backs and watching Leno in goal just shows what you can get in the transfer market for a good price . I’m not going to mention the bad players as I think most fans can see with their own eyes

    1. How it go versus Spurs???
Nailbitting, breathtaming, Nervy choose one, I just think it will be a really tough game and our luck might run out against them.
We have been getting away with a lot of defensive errors and disorganization which Spurs are well capable of punishing.
They have beaten Chelsea, and Man Utd, but they also lost against Liverpool and Man City which shows we can beat them.

For that game though, Aubameyang will not start in my team, buff said for now, ama enjoy this hard fought win

        1. Did you say you wouldn’t start Aubameyang against Tottenham Goonerboy. Are you kidding? !8 goals in 26 games. What more d’you wan’t from him? The man’s a goal machine.

          1. Kenny, he could have had a lot more, except from some poor finishing in front of goal, including at least one against Bournmouth.

  8. Everyone who says we need four to six players is delusional because it won’t happen at Arsenal. Those under contract will no doubt stay and we may get an addition in jan but it won’t be whole sale change. A team such as ours doesn’t need to have its playing staff ripped apart just a couple of changes but of either absolute proven quality or the next superstar type player. It’s about exciting the mob which creates the atmosphere and changes the outlook of the club. We do look beatable but also we are only just short this season of picking up around another 5 to 7 points as well. Given the teams around us this season top four now might not be achievable as the bar has been raised so far, but I’m not seeing my arsenal often enough and win lose or draw I want to believe in my team. It’s missing more often than it’s there still although more often than from the last few seasons past. Still raises the question why are we talking of transitions rather than just progression

  9. 1. Our finishing is awful.
    2. Our attacks are predictable.
    3. Defense needs A LOT of work.
    4. Bellerin and Kolasinac is crucial. Lack of creativity on our central players.

    1. Right, you are not going to have Auba and Laca in their best if you dont have Santi creativity (its like once upon maurinho told abramovic “you cant make omlets without eggs”
we really need direct wingers ie Cengiz, or pepe may be both of them also a belgian fella leandro Trassad even Fornals will do it if that doesnt happen in january transfer kiss goodbye 4th spot and we might have to wait till summer like Sanlehi said.

  10. Kev in case you haven’t noticed some people health depends on iwobi having a bad game, yes I agree he was not good in the first half but improved very well in the second,I don’t know if its hate or something else, but it’s funny.miki isn’t that bad it’s like he’s going through something of sort

    1. Iwobi was not that good but we were so poor creatively that he dilly dallyed on the ball for so long trying to find space and make things happen. No wonder it was his defence splitting pass that allowed Kola to produce the assist.Mkhi is dreadful and was there’s times the player he was under Wenger.

  11. I can’t decide which was worse today, the lucky, tepid and undeserved win today OR the disgracefully untruthful headline to this thread by Mr Admin, the hype merchant. MR ADMIN , YOU ARE A FULLY GROWN UP MATURE MAN SO PLEASE DON’T INSULT THE INTELLIGENCE OF YOUR READERS BY GIVING US THIS NONSENSICAL HEADLINE! Little , the three lucky points apart, to get excited about today. Several players stunk, Mhki(another weed Walcott type, cowardly, frail and bone idle), Auba, despite the goal, Xhaka as usual , Mustafi who tried hard but was slow , cumbersome and immobile as ever. Emery got the shape and selection badly wrong today and did nothing to change things until around 12 mins from time when he foolishly subbed our MotM by a distance in Torreira, when we were holding on to a one goal lead. Those who could hold up their heads today were Torreira, Leno, Bellerin Holding. Kolas tried hard as ever but lacks mobility. The rest frankly were all mediocre or dreadful, We must never play Mhki instead of Ozil by choice again. Both are idle but OZIL HAS GREAT TALENT AND MHKI SHOULD BE SOLD ASAP and replaced by someone with guts and a pair of balls.

    1. no jon you are wrong on this one, it was an excellent victory!!

you just beleive Bournemouth to be a bad team which they are not, good team with a good fighting spirit, they work hard , they have pace up front, and depth upfront as well, good midfield, i personally like some players in that team just because the players are not famous doesn’t take anything away from how good they are or will be, was impressed with brooks today and cook is a future england international in my humble opinion, wilson king and brooks looked really good linking up with fraser looking to pressure the right side, they will be scoring goals between them with timew alot of pace and good link up play, good team there hard to beat at home especially, howe has made them hard to beat, so we should be happy with the 3 points as we where excellent at times!!

      1. Please don’t put words in my mouth that I DID NOT SAY. About Bouremouth I said ONLY that they were tiring. It is YOU who mentioned Bourmemouth and bad team in the same sentence. I MADE NO MENTION OF THIS AND DO NOT THINK IT EITHER. I do not mind in the least you disagreeing with what I say BUT I draw the line with you disagreeing with the words YOU put into my mouth. FAIR COMMENT OR NOT?

        1. MR ADMIN , YOU ARE A FULLY GROWN UP MATURE MAN SO PLEASE DON’T INSULT THE INTELLIGENCE OF YOUR READERS BY GIVING US THIS NONSENSICAL HEADLINE! Little , the three lucky points apart, to get excited about today.

i’m not putting words in anyone’s mouth but i can read and deduct, why whouldn’t you be excited jon, its an away game with a team that has collected the most points from a losing position, where we really that lucky or did we have a game plan and deserved it? why are you soo anti that headline as it was fitting for the win?

only one reason for you being unhappy and you got your answer from me, take it on board, all good you learn every day 🙂

          1. It seems you won’t let it drop
that you have your opinion and I have mine. And on the Bournemouth game , they are poles apart. If that was what you would call excellent then I say you are too easily pleased and have probably not seen our Invincibles side in the flesh. THEY WERE excellent. DO YOU FURTHER DENY WE GAINED FROM A FREAK OWN GOAL AND THEY HAD A PROVEN BY SLOWMO , GOAL WRONGLY DISALLOWED?

            1. jon again i call it how i see it, i’m not argumentative won’t go looking for you to prove you wrong buddy, but i also don’t get intimidated by reverse phychology, insults, caps, etc… if i have an opinion i’ll share it and if need be defend it, untill reason is thrown out of the window of course 🙂

you got my comment there because you where wrong in slating the admin the headline and the team, i tried to explain it above the best way possible.. and in other forums about how we are improving under emery…but you take bits and pieces and use the invincibles to justify your argument which is what? buddy we have all witness that team it’s not like we are ten years old typing on this forum cmon lol

so it was an unjust comment and i tried to show you where and how!! if i could quote rafa it’s a fact!!

so your opinion shouldn’t trump facts that’s all i was getting at man, don’t worry we’re all good 🙂

            2. Sal if you had stuck to exactly what i said in my first post and only that – as I use words to give precise meanings wherever possible- you would notice that I did not call Emery a poor or bad manager and in fact have many times on here said how great he is. Now that is fact. So i cannot think what in my post has upset you so much . It is clear surely, that the perf was far from excellent and I SAID SO LOUD AND CLEAR AS i THINK the admins headline is wrong and misleading. You clearly do not , so fine , we have polar opinions. But am I not allowed by you on this publuc forum to call it as i see it? Several others have also said in essence how lucky we were(freak own goal plus B/Ms disallowed but legit offside goal.) Neither keeper was busy and so that cannot be excellent. It was far from a dull game, agreed, but that does not equate to excellence, which is far better than merely good. It was not even good either. Let us leave it there and agree to differ as mature adults should do.

    2. Emery explained why Torreira was subbed off so I’d say that’s about the only thing I’ll disagree with you on here

    1. Thanks Sue-tough game against a good team. They have a lot of pace going forward which causes anyone problems.Better game management before half time was needed but we done ever do easy do we?Your boy Kola played well today especially going forward.
Let’s remember we are a Club in transition and Emery needs time.I certainly didn’t agree with the line up and also playing 3 at the back it he got the job done so let’s at least take that as a positive before next Sunday.
Flying to Kiev on Tuesday so ready for a few days away with the lads.Have been told it’s been -14 in the evenings so not looking forward to that at all

  12. Well it’s obvious that we didn’t have a really good game today, but looking at the match I’d say arsenal is becoming a world class team in the sense that despite having a bad day, they still manage to grind out wins and I know mikhitarian will improve, even far better than he is now he just have to continue the attacking midfield position and have more game time on that position as he’s just lacking confidence and as for Mustafi, I’m afraid cos his mistakes has cost us goals this season I need a competition for ozil

  13. hard fought win, we deserved it to me Sokratis was Motm 1 mistake that’s it!! 3 words of the day Leader, Brave, Wrestler!! Mavro will learn from a Beast and will become one in time

Holding was so calm i admire that he doesn’t let his lack of pace distrupt his game.A smart player a future Per hopefully!! good on him he looked great and did well pushing up that left in the second half.

Leno good job you deserve that spot

Torreira great game unlucky of not getting his first goal!

and the rest where good, worst maybe miki and kola, but it wasn’t going to be easy they deserve to be where they are and that goal they scored shows it, such a counter wow!! the fans kept lifting the team everytime we had the momentum so good on them, good game to me andb we deserved 3 points!!

good tactics by the manager playing 3 at the back when we lacked the creativity of ozil, so happy with the win even with mustafi scaring me at the end, he had a good game too but that is how you get punished, so no more please 🙂

      1. he got turned once by king, but those strikers knew they where in a game!! to me he was immense, was great in the air, vocal reforming the line after they attacked it was him, i don’t mind our defenders getting dirty and he was smart too, enough to get in their heads without getting sent off, 8/10 performance from me Declan very happy with him so far!!

          1. i wholeheartedly agree Sue :)… hope those wrestling drills prove handy when we get that goal machine next week!!

  14. Understandably some people aren’t happy with the performance which I agree was far from convincing but let’s keep perspective, it’s an away game against a difficult opponent who play good football.. we lost this game last season from a winning position, so we’ve put that right this time and have more away wins this season that’s still in November than the whole of last season so in that regard we’ve improved and let’s not forget we are 17 unbeaten.. Wenger would have been praised to the hilt had he managed this run! Let’s just enjoy staying unbeaten and hopefully we get some better performances soon but for now a point off the top 4 we would have taken that after the Chelsea game!

      1. Might be a fairytale Sue if we win our next 2! Can’t possibly lose to Man u can we ? Huddersfield showing arsenal how to beat Wolves ?

    1. fluidity wasn’t what we expect (today) apart from that …we’re still very much in the mix – and for the time being that’s what counts. Provided we show up at home then compared to last season we are in pretty good shape.

Put another way – city apart – those we’re close behind cannot feel comfortable with the gooners breathing down their necks: It’s a big thumbs up for the fans and same for the coach.

  15. Jesus rose tinting never builds a top club … it was an awful performance so the 3 points is an undeserved boost which at least gives real purpose to next Sunday … my problem is that 4 months in to the season and I still can’t work out what fcuk the emery style is … ok we no the defense remains a soft spot and reinforcement are needed in window but that shouldn’t be an excuse for utter disorganization which led to their goal and other chances or the fact that we lost two thirds of 50 50 tackles .,. someone should track bellerins position in this game he was all over the place literally and metaphorically … same goes for torreira … Ramsey came on for a hapless cameo and wandering all over … just hope that next week we are back to full strength … Ozil lacazette Monreal?) and drop xhaka pls

  16. Kola getting accolades – rightfully
But is it hate or something
Both of his square-plays that led to our goals were from Iwobi
Yet nobody even giving the Dude some respect
The whole team played around Iwobi today
    YES, He’s not that good
But the whole team is comfortable playing to him when he’s on the left-side & he’s not afraid to get involved
He was totally the main heartbeat of the team’s attacks today
    What Ozil should be doing
Ozil’s style actually needs complimenting by a side-midfielder or winger and presently Iwobi is the best the team’s got, only Kev really recognises that
Our most boring matches this season (Crystal P & Wolves) were the matches where Iwobi was played out of position
The team goes totally FLAT & BRAINLESS & CLUELESS when Iwobi is not positioned where he can be pulling the strings
He’s the team’s Brain for now
All the Goals today went through him (Yes, the one we conceded too LOL!!!)

  17. Against Spurs Mustafi should be taken out for Guedouzi and Mkhitaryan out for MaitlandNiles.
    …….
    ………..Leno
    Bellerin.Sokratis.Holding.Kolasinac
    Guedouzi.Torreira.Xhaka
    M-Niles.Aubameyang.Iwobi

  18. Unconvincing performance but three points at a difficult venue where there is little space for the likes of Ozil to display his skills hence Emery,s side decision to omit him.The injury to Monreal dictated the switch to a back three as the defensive deficiencies of Bellerin and Kolasinac are less worrying when they are deployed as wing backs. Will Emery use this system against Spurs if Monreal is still unfit? Probably. But one thing for sure, if he plays Mik against Spurs he will lose credibility with a lot of Arsenal fans, myself included.
