Bruno Guimaraes believes he gave his best for Newcastle United before leaving the club to join Arsenal, as he looks to pursue greater success.
The midfielder was one of the first names on the team sheet at St James’ Park and remained loyal to Newcastle despite being one of the most sought-after players in the league during his time at the club.
Guimaraes Begins New Chapter
This summer, Guimaraes watched as more of his teammates departed, and when Arsenal showed interest in signing him, he decided it was time for a new challenge.
Arsenal are on the rise, and many players would want to join Mikel Arteta’s team, which is why Guimaraes has now made the move to the Emirates. His departure has left a significant void at Newcastle, while some supporters have expressed disappointment that he joined other players who have left the club in recent seasons.
However, Guimaraes believes he gave everything for Newcastle and can leave with his head held high. Reflecting on his time at the club, he explained that he felt he had helped with its rebuilding process before deciding to seek a new opportunity.

“I spent almost five years at Newcastle, I believe I helped rebuild the club, I arrived at a more difficult time in the club’s history, in my view, and with my family I decided to try something new, I’m very happy with my opportunity here at Arsenal, and now it’s time to keep working, very happy to start off on the right foot in my first official game, leaving with the title was very important”,
Guimaraes has therefore made it clear that he views his departure as a decision to pursue a fresh challenge rather than a reflection of his commitment to Newcastle. He believes his contribution to the club was significant during his time at St James’ Park.
Now, his focus is on establishing himself at Arsenal and continuing to work towards further success. His positive start with the Gunners has also encouraged him as he begins this new stage of his career.

“I arrived at a more difficult time in the club’s history”?
Arsenal had looked at him and decided against whilst NUFC became owned by the richest football club owners. He doubled his wages from Lyon and doubled them again when extending his contract. It looks like almost doubled again, joining the Septic Six.
You have got a good player at a very good price but remember, he picked an agent who would get him personally the best deal.
NUFC supporters can feel aggrieved that our captain, who identified as Geordie, engineered his way to turn his back on his support..
He wants to make history with you, he told us he wanted to make history with us. Sure, he played in Dan Burn’s League Cup win.
He made history for Brazil, achieving something no Brazilian had done in 40 years.
You have signed a great bench warmer, also a great badge kisser. Arsenal supporters will surely forgive us for hoping he gets the opportunity to miss more penalties at the Etihad, or is it the Emirates? He probably doesn’t care about the name of the stadium, nor which badge he kisses next.
That’s football, and he gave you good service for 4 years.
He also didn’t pull any stunts like Isaac did, just honestly expressed his wish to move.
I think the reaction of Newcastle has been tacky and unappreciative of the service he has given your club. You lot sound like he is a prisoner who must be held.
Did you feel on top of the world when the Saudis bought into Newcastle? Gone was your loathed owner, Mike Ashley and in with bags of money and a better future.
You come across as bitter which is understandable if you’re not as big a club historically as Arsenal, Liverpool and Utd as 3 examples, and therefore, don’t have the level of trophies. You had a good run under Howe overall, and there’s still an opportunity to rebuild and rebound

How sad, you come across as a very bitter person. Players come and go, that’s football. And have you ever considered for a minute that he may have seen the players the club were selling, and thought the club were now showing no ambition.
There are quite a few reasons why said player wants to leave. That may have been one of them.
Cheer up by the way, bitterness is not a good look. Move on from him, and hope that you’re club can do well this season.
