Burnley boss wants a career like Arsenal’s Wenger!

Sean Dyche has done extremely well for a young manager, even though his team are fighting for relegation from the Premier League this season. He has shown that he can set up his team to match the Big Teams at home, as proven by beating Man City and drawing with Tottenham in their last two games at Turf Moor.

Next up is the Gunners tomorrow evening, and Dyche has admitted he would love to have a career like Arsene Wenger’s. “They’re a fine side, who keep progressing despite what people say.” he said in the Express.

“Arsene seems to get questioned, I don’t know why, I think the job he’s done is terrific.

“Of course, I’m aware fans would like to have won more trophies in recent years but, as a young manager aspiring to progress in the game, I look at people like him thinking ‘you haven’t done badly if you have a career like his’.”

But his task is now to stop Arsenal winning their eighth game in a row, but the Clarets boss doesn’t seem particularly worried about playing another “superpower”. “We have to understand the opposition and counter that with how we work,” he said.

“Certainly against Tottenham we made it difficult against them.

“We edged the game against Manchester City and it’s not often you do that against one of the superpowers.

“I’m happy with how the team is operating this season.”

I have a feeling that he won’t be quite so happy tomorrow evening after losing 8-0 to this year’s League Champions 🙂 but he can console himself with the fact that Arsenal beat everyone nowadays!
