It is not nice to be happy about any footballer getting injured and Arsenal can rightly claim to be among the most sporting clubs in the Premier League. We might give the spuds and others plenty of grief but we also tend to have a bit more class. As a side note I want to congratulate the Gunners on the decision to donate some of this weekend´s match day proceeds to the Syrian refugee crisis, nice one.
So I am not revelling in the injury to Thibaut Courtois, but I cannot be upset about the effect this is likely to have on Chelsea and especially Jose Mourinho. The injury is not a serious one for the Belgian keeper according to an Evening Standard report, a torn Meniscus (the cartilage of his knee) which is likely to keep him out of action for about 10 weeks.
But for Mourinho, who has already been like a simmering kettle since the start of the season, this will be infuriating and could further stretch the uneasy relationship between him and Roman Abramovich as the Russian went against Mourinho´s advice in selling Petr Cech to Arsenal. And this latest setback is not going to help Mourinho´s simmering tension with the Chelsea players and staff either.
I´m sure that the Arsenal fans can think of a few chants to aim at the Chelsea boss when we meet at Stamford Bridge next week can´t we? Something along the lines of `Eva would have fixed him´ perhaps? `Where´s your keepers gone?´ or a simple `thanks for the Cech Jose´.
Courtois will also be a big loss for our EPL rivals and that can only be good for Arsenal, but can we take advantage and are we allowed to chuckle at their misfortune as I´m sure they have done to us many times?
Just when you think there’s no more articles on Chelsea or JM……………
chuckLes or no chuckLes……… We all know, the Injury gods ain’t our friends as well!
Its not right to feel happy at the injuries to any rival players. Btw u said 10 weeks.. Hell yeah baby ?
Stupid post so because our team is not good enough to win the league we are laughing at chelsea grow up gooners and Blame wenger for us not being title contenders
Bla bla, dont careeee…
More importantly, tomorrow is a MUST win game, can’t let City walk this league without a fight! Hope Wenger plays Walcott, he’s a constant goal threat with all the runs he makes, he’s a defenders nightmare when he gets going!
Walcott
Sanchez Ozil Oxlade
Cazorla Ramsey
Gibbs Gabriel Kos Bellerin
Cech
Walcott’s confidence is higher than Girouds at the moment, poor guy was booed by his country.
Ramsey can play CDM better than Arteta plus Coq could do with a rest.
Monreal can have a rest as Gibbs is more than capable to fill that position, and can handle Shaqiri’s pace.
Gabriel has been GREAT, wins every header and noones getting past him 1 on 1.
Lets get the goals quick then rest key players to avoid injuries, we have tough upcoming fixtures! COYG!
Gibbs must stay on the bench, the only thing that should ever disrupt a back 4 is injury or suspension!
Jose Mourinho will get an small understanding of what injury feels like to your top players Chelsea has been fortunate in the last few years suffering very few injuries to their players
That’s our problem we chuckle to much on teams that have recently won prem and we don’t try change the drastic direction with the way how this club is being run
Big loss. They really could
do with Cech now.
Begovic is a decent player.
But this is Abamovich’s fault.
Mind you Arsenal has Wellbeck out
and Wilshere out for longer now.
Walcott and Ox won’t be far off
their usual injury break.
Begovic is very good too. It is not a major injury blow.
So Chelsea now have two key players in Oscar and Courtois out injured. Lets see how their season will pan out should Costar’s strings play tricks on him again. If Chelsea manages to win the league with such injuries then we can safely put to bed the argument that injuries killed Arsenal’s title chances in the past two seasons. Should Chelsea struggle then the case will have been settled.
Neville says you cant win the PL with a Santi Cazorla playing in the centre. If Barca played over here I have a suspicion that they would not score so many goals but I believe none the less that the team they have now their and previous one would be by far the best squad in England and would still win titles. So Garry Neville, you cant win with a Cazorla ..tell that to Barcelona.
Cazorla/Xavi, Iniesta/Ramsey, Coq/Busq, Suarez/Sanchez, Cech/Stegan, Alves/Bellerin, Koscielny/Pique ..we are getting there.
Where?
wtf? messi/ neymar/ suarez vs…. suarez tore up the epl by himself, pool havent been the same since he left, and he is numero 3 on that frontal attack…
Messi, well there is only one Messi. Everyone falls short on that one. Sanchez is our Suarez or can be compared as similar players. Neymar, yes we have no one of that level either, that is where we and most other teams fall short on Barca (up front) and why I said we are getting there. Arsene didn’t pull the trigger because he wants a certain type, my guess is a Barcelona type.
But that is all my own opinion, the point was that Neville says you just cant be successful with a Santi Cazorla in midfield centre, here is one instance that proves him wrong. Whos to say he wont be proved wrong again?. Before a wob says I am ..don’t bother.
Cech back to the Bridge
I am sure 100% of Chelsea fans will be respectful
neville and carra are just haters….we can win the title even if we stupidly couldnt buy a dm and striker…but if we dont win it then we would definetly spend next season…pls wenger is not that foolish..he has alot of experience in his job..yeah and if we dont win it dats bcoz “shit happens”..coyg
And what proof do u have that we will sign nxt season if we didnt win the title?
Lets win tomorrow i miss those articles which link us with the title and those calling Wenger a genius!
those were the days
Those wenger days was nice but now wenger has expired
Wenger has exploded more like it ..the next lads he brings in are going to make up the difference from what our team is today and how our invincible team looked. He’s back, tasting early success the moment the shackles got let off. I can only see him improving from here on out. If I were a rival fan I would be very worried and Id probably come in here trying to stir up the crowd into getting rid.
OFF TOPIC De Gea signs for year contract for United that’s like throwing egg in the face of Real Madrid’s Florentino Perez, so we now know who F’ed up the transfer the same person messed us around with Benzema
I sort of had an inkling that would happen, same happened with Reus so to make sure that the club can get a fair deal. Some players would take advantage and am sure his agent wanted to but fair play to him ..if Madrid wanted him badly they should have paid but you cant blame them for trying to get him on the free, our own Arsene would be proud.
So even after the big bLow……you still believe Benzema was Arsenal bound? ………
a simpl ‘check mate’ will do. i have a good feeling this season is going to b great
that’s the spirit,
give me a week or two to forget the summer and ill join you with the glass half full
well…begovic isnt a bad keeper. We were linked to him in the past.
He has made us suffer.
So yeah cool and all but its not like they have Calamity James at the goal
Rubbish article Begovic is as solid a back up as you can ask for. Not a major blow by any means.
Begovic has always been a solid proven prem keeper and from what we’ve seen over the past few seasons as well as this current campaign him coming in for Courtois won’t hinder Chelsea.
I really hope I’d see the end of these pot shot articles on our rivals and hopefully more analysis on Arsenal. We almost wrote more articles on Chelsea that their own website.
There has got to be something else to write about
We are still in this season and transfer is not yet over as the winter window can be explored to do a signings and sell a Gunner. if a better than what we have on ground, yes we ‘ll try to lure him to come to us. We are human beings with bones&tissues, flesh&blood, vains&nerves brains&conscience. So we are oblige to talk about our rivals advantage or disadvantage. No crime in doing so. But will the absent of Courtoise be an advantage for us next week? I think it will, if the Gunners take advantage of his absent.
