Can Arsenal fans stop with the #WengerOut comments – It’s just pointless

Am I the only one that gets bored stiff with commenters coming on to JustArsenal to just bash Arsene Wenger while completely ignoring the subject of the article? Did anyone notice that last summer Wenger was given a two-year extension to his contract, and no matter how much you protest or write @WengerOut in the comments it will have no effect whatsoever.

Wenger is very fastidious about keeping to his contracts and he will be here until the end of next season no matter what anyone says, either at games or on forums like these. Wenger is in charge and his players will be playing for him from now until the end of the season, so why can’t we just deal with the situation and get behind the team?

A toxic atmosphere at the Emirates could become a self-fulfilling prophecy, and if you say “We will never win nothing under Wenger” and scream abuse at the manager and the team all the time, then the players will end up believing you and will not play to their best.

Why would anyone try to impress a crowd that is always on their backs no matter how well they play. After all the uncertainty of the transfer window, Arsenal finally got their act together and were brilliant against Bournemouth. This platform then gave them the confidence to go to Stamford Bridge and get a point from last years Champions on their home turf, but STILL the moaners come on here with their constant moaning. It was Wenger that managed these teams to these great performances and the players were following his orders.

Can we just stop with the moaning and let the team do it’s job, which is to entertain the fans and play as well as they can. Stop making it hard for them. Support the team, NOT the regime!

    1. I agree with stopping all this Wenger out crap, start supporting the team, with everyone on board this team may surprise a few people. There is no reason that this team with the supporters making up the 12th man that we can’t go on a great run and win this pl we are as good as anyone in it. Its about time we started supporting the team as we did at Highbury, ever since we left there the supporters have been quiet,, it not just the players that need to show passion. The Emirates should bouncing just like Highbury did. The only people that can make that happen is us. Has anyone ever thought that the season we haven’t won major titles is because we stink at supporting our team ever since we moved there, so stop complaining and start singing

      1. “… bouncing just like Highbury did”? Would that be the place known throughtout football as the Library!

      2. @Trebor
The problem is even with 12 men playing under Wenger every game we still think he would manage to bottle the games…. I have absolutely zero faith in our manager..watching games with my friends has become a nightmare with all the games we are always losing.

        1. Does arsenal always lose when you watching with your friends?
They might just be our problem. Because I know we’ve won many games, including 3 FA cups recently. or, maybe the TV set you watch, tells you lies ( we always loosing, as u say above)
Stop watching with those guys. They watch games with voodoo.

    2. Wenger will not leave Arsenal until his contract expires!!! Stop moaning cos you ll have to do that this season and next, you ll be very sad (exuding negative vibes to friends n family), and Wenger will complete his tenure a happy man with money in d bank ready to retire. I ll rather support d team and be happy. Up Gunners!!

  1. Yes, do not scream any Wenger Out when the team is still winning. We would not want the current positive vibe turns into negativity.

And instead of Wenger Out, why not put Kroenke Out or Gazidis Out? In my opinion, those people are more responsible of the penny pinching policy in Arsenal, making Arsenal unable to compete with better squad.

Dear fans in London, do you dare to show Kroenke Out or Gazidis Out banners? Currently we need to criticize the team with building and positive critics, not with discouraging protests.

    1. Why not show banners with Wenger, Gazidis, the board and the scum owner, ALL the cancerous lot OUT TODAY banners!

  2. I’ve said this for years, I live up north now and it’s embarrassing the stuff I hear about our club and fans! I was disgusted when protests were organised during the 90, that was a line that should not have been crossed no matter how much you pay for your ticket. I’ve supported Arsenal for over 30 years and even when we’ve had players I’m not keen on, I’ve still supported the team. I often wonder how many of the more vocal #Wenger out “fans” (definitely not supporters) remember what it was like before he came or even before George, when we had a lot of nothing?

    1. The FALCON, I can double your mere thirty years and have never known a manager so stubborn, unwilling and unable to see sense and sheer out of his time. He has been a long term loser and that he is still here is entirely down to the fact we have an owner and board who care nothing for honours, only for money. OUR MONEY! You find the protests embarrassing; tens of thousands of us definitely true supporters(and thanks a lot for the snide insult to our great supporters!) find people like you, who wish to accepot mediocrity, embarrassing and annoying. Realism!!!

  3. I agree totally with this article. I wish that Arsene had left when we won the Cup. Possibly the cup before. But he didn’t & the last thing we need is negativity at the games. That and not Wenger will bring us down

I agree if you want to protest Kronke out is the way.

  4. It is hard to be positive when Wenger has put us in a position of celebrating draws against Chelsea as if they are wins. No one likes moaning, its just that with Wenger the story is the same season in season out so why not change things up? Why must it be Wenger in charge? Is it his divine right to be manager at Arsenal? The protests will continue until change prevails. Amen.

      1. The performance was appreciated, it’s a bad fan who can’t give credit and stick behind their team when they are giving it a right go. Chelsea have drawn only one at home in over a very long time, they lost a couple I think but that shows you how much they won. They could have nicked it just as easily as we might have, it was a fair contest, and that’s where the appreciation comes from. Not from looking at a points statistic, sure we’ve beaten Chelsea over the years with warning signs all over the field, it was good to know we had that game-plan in us.

    1. Wenger didn’t put anybody in position of celebrating draw. What people celebrated is a good performance. How many times have moaners say here that they can take the team losing if they show fight and desire. Well the team did and it was funny to see people changing the narratives. Well it is their choice to be said and moan situation they can control and no amount of “Wenger out” will take them close to achieve their objective. I want Wenger change and i know saying it doesn’t make any difference.

  5. “Support the team, NOT the regime!” The regime includes Wenger, he should go, he’s the one responsible for on the pitch bitterness and disappointments.

Yes we support the team, but this old man is past his retirement age and we want our Arsenal back

      1. If we stay calm and support the team through thick and thin. after the expiration of the two year contract a four year extension will be offered to him on a platter of gold.

        1. OK, let’s just keep losing.
Maybe even drop to the championship, all in the name of proving how much we hate one who won 3 FA cups in last 4 years.
          This is becoming something else.

      2. Faintheart! You also want Wenger out , seemingly but unlike many and me you do not accept we have the right and the duty to force this old man out by any means we can. I am not going to blithely shut up and wait through two more years of drifting. And nor should you. Forget his contract. WE can force his sacking.

          1. Mobella, How , you ask? Boycott games and do not buy merchandise. Bombard social media and phone in radio progs like TalkSport with energy and force. Thoise who will attend no matter what, to show huge anti Wenger and anti regime(gazidis, Kroenke, whole board) banners and constant chants of the same. Marches, demonstrations and keep the constant pressure up , but increased ten fold from now and we CAN get our club back. No club can survive long without fans support and if we have to withdraw it until this cancerous regime and manager is gone, then so be it. Either you want your Arsenal back OR you don’t!

      3. Disagree 100%

We can still force change with protests, create a bitter environment and force him to be sacked like any other under achieving manager.

      4. When season is over, most of us expects his resignation, but instead he signs to stay more for years, as AKB I know you are happy but I’m not..

Why do other teams do it but us? When Chelsea’s wanted Mou out they did it, look at where they are now, just the reigning champions and we are lagging behind like a mid table team. 2 more years of Wenger will be rewarded with 2 more..

we want arsenal to succeed, you want Arsene to succeed, 2 different goals we all have

  6. Sam, maybe it helps not to write articles that put the topic back on the table. You are not going to persuade the Wenger out brigade with an article that contains no new supporting arguments in favor of Wenger and neither is one game going to change our minds.

The “Wenger is here and we can’t-do anything about it so grab your ankle brigade” should realize that our conviction that he is not the man to take us forward was not created after one game or one season and it will not go away until he wins the PL or leaves.

I have not read an article about why Wenger should leave recently and most of us were encouraged about the Chelsea game although we all he saw decent results in the past so we know one game doesn’t bring salvation.

But writing yet another article after a game we didn’t lose that provokes us into yet again regurgitating our conflicting positions seems pointless to me and it contributes to friction IMO.

I for one, expressed my pleasant surprise about the way we played against Chelsea, we were disciplined and focused for 90+ minutes and that positive about the game. I don’t want to feel forced a day later with an article that I should now change my mind and embrace Wenger.

I won’t ask you to abandon your view that Wenger is the right manager for us after our next loss either. Both our views have developed over many years and to assume they are so thin that one game changes them is a bit insulting. I will not embrace Wenger and I won’t expect you to denounce him. We both want to team to win on game days.

So, as I said on a number of posts, good team effort against Chelsea, loved the pressing and discipline and now let’s hope the boys can reproduce that for every game because that is what it takes to get back to the top 4.

    1. Great post. I have passionately wanted Wenger out for a full decade and one idiot who thinks we should just shut up and support this long term loser manager who has no tactics; can’t use subs properly; mis handles players; plays them constantly out of position and who doesn’t get the need for defence/ attack balance(constantly sending two full backs upfield together and playing attacking midfielders as holding players) is in cloud cuckoo land. I love this club and have since the 1950’s and want this cancerous manager out along with the owner and board. No Sam P , I AM NOT GOING TO SHUT UP AND ACCEPT MEDIOCRITY and shamateur running of our beloved club. And if you were a true supporter Sam, nor would you!

      1. I challenge those who have disliked my sensible post to come on here and explain precisely WHAT of my post they disagree with. Come on losers, embarrass yourselves!

        1. hmmm i think the post is Sam Ps and you merely agreed with him, and to tell fans they are not allowed an opinion. Well if you cannot see what wrong with that there no point in explaining as you just wouldnt understant mr winners lol

      2. Whining about everything will prob be worse than trying to unite and force change, cry about this, cry about that… just look like a bunch of crying kids.

Silent Stan owns this club, he likes profit and AFC does make some nice profit, this could be greater still if we had a CEO who was capable of exploiting the support in sponsorships.

A better business CEO could earn Silent Stan more profit.

An ambitious CEO would find a better manager, Gazidis got bypassed easily by Wenger by just speaking to the boss, this type of CEO is weak and we expect this man to get an ambitious manager who would challenge him in spending or a yes man who can develop talent to sell for profit?

Wenger isn’t perfect but please keep in mind that the team he has now is made up of many panic buys from the board, just need to look at last season and how Wenger wanted Lacazette but the board bought Perez who never had the trust of the manager.

Wenger has however won the FA cup last season and he has kept us in the top 4 until last season with players who he didn’t trust fully and a squad made up of penny pinching versions of what he wanted, to maintain top 4 with that handicap isn’t a bad thing.

He makes mistakes and that does cost us, he has done well though for the players he has been given when wanting someone else. To say he isn’t capable of winning the EPL I feel is false, to say he can’t win it while not buying his main targets and missing out on 2/3 of them like the transfer window just gone is valid, in my opinion.

        This is a CEO issue.

Unite to get a better CEO, one who knows that player prices are jumping up and it is worth being quick in investments as players stock can raise rapidly. Better for Silent Stan and Better for us supporters. Also better for the players, no more Perez types who get messed around because the board got him when the manager wasn’t interested.

A better CEO would be able to sack Wenger if he fails and not just watch the old man bypass him and go to the owner, that ambition would lead to us looking for an ambitious manager to replace Wenger… someone to match the supporters ambition.

        1. “Whining about everything will prob be worse than trying to unite and force change”..

As if you AKBs do want to unite and force changes.. you always giving your all to make sure your master keeps his old arse at Arsenal with no target to win anything

  7. Wenger is most definitely part of the “regime”, and he’s consistently proven for many years now that he cannot compete in the league, and Europe, and that he has little, to no respect for the fans. In my opinion, he’s got off easy for a long time, as it wasn’t until last season where started getting the deserved criticism from all quarters.

Yes it’s not great seeing negative comments all of the time, but that is the general feeling for most Arsenal fans. The club’s in a complete mess, things are getting worse, and there seems no end in sight to the misery. It’s very hard to be positive, in that kind of situation.

I also think Wenger gets mentioned a lot in articles that are not directly about him, because he’s not just the coach. He also has a lot of responsibility off the pitch, on how the club is run, so that opens him up to even more criticism, or praise, if things are going well (but that never happens). I’m a strong Wenger out, but I’ll praise him when he deserves it (like after the Chelsea game), unfortunately he’s become so bad that he doesn’t deserve praise most of the time.

Lastly, fans need to vent! Just go and watch Arsenal Fan TV to see how tough it can be being an Arsenal supporter. Another place to vent is on here, and other blogs. So unless you want an end to free speech Sam P, you’ll just have to live with it!

    1. One of many sensible comments tonight.. spot on

We can’t keep praising mediocrity just coz the season has started, we are always told to judge him in May, it’s Sept now and May riot and everything didn’t stop him from signing more contracts.. so Wenger out anytime of the day

  8. If things are not going right for a very longtime as they should, of course moaning, complain, abuse and protest will not be unexpected if they followed and flowed. A big club like Arsenal not winning the PL title for 13 seasons doesn’t call for parting nor celebration but sadness and distress will reign.

But Having said the above, a change of the regime at Arsenal is more or less a difficult task to get over the line by the so called anti-wenger Arsenal supporters. For, Arsene Wenger, alas Le Prof is just a faithfully employee of Stan Kroenke like the rest of them at the Arsenal board and down the ladder who must all be professionally and be loyal to Kroenke or leave, if not get the sack. Le Prof who have professionally been doing his job at Arsenal since he came on board and have managed Arsenal teams he built to win many domestic tiles for Arsenal but the League Cup, but has not been able to build a team that can win the PL title since Arsenal last won it in 2014 is frustrating. But is Le Prof solely to be blamed for this singular failure? I don’t think so,. I think the lack of adequate funding by the Arsenal board to strengthened his hand in top quality players recruitment as against the overreach top class players recruitment drives by Arsenal 3 main PL title rival clubs has hampered Le Prof overtime to win the PL title again, again and again since 2004. Therefore, the cry for Arsenal to win the PL title again falls at Kroenke’s feet. Let him give the money that will help Arsenal to win or we wait for Le Prof to perform a magic to see Arsenal win. And I sense he’ll do it this season after I watched the Gunners performed very well against Chelsea last Sunday. It’s an encouragement to success performance.

  9. Priceless, a post about not posting “wenger out” comments on every topic is meet with number of “Wenger out” comments.

You guys think Wenger is stubborn, I guess it takes one to know one?

  10. Waaaaah waaaaah all the Wenger Out comments might make our special snowflake manager and players cry. No wonder we haven’t won anything significant in over a decade, we have weak minded personnel

  11. So much whinging it’s unbelievable so you all want wenger gone, good, will the next manager win everything or players under his charge miss a blatant goal opportunity? Well being on this site is getting tedious player’s gave their all last Sunday yet wenger out is all we are hearing I’m not surprised some players don’t want to come to arsenal if all of you think it’s only because of wenger only think again any player reading this site now will probably think twice

  12. Probably the most sensible post I’ve seen here in a long time. Thanks, Sam P. And to those who still disagree, here’s some food for thought: Say you have a high paying job. Heck, any job at all. Flipping burgers at McDonald’s, for example. What happens if you don’t do what you’re supposed to do? Simple, you get fired… canned… sacked… whatever it is you want to call it. Now think about Wenger for a second. The man is one of the most high paid football managers in the world. He’s making 8 million (pounds) a year. Nothing to sneeze at, right? So you’re telling me that he doesn’t do his job, yet he gets a contract extension? That should pretty much tell you the whole story. Fact of a matter is he’s doing his job, and he’s doing extremely well. The board, the owner are all happy because Arsenal FC is making them a crap load of money. So to those of you who are screaming Wenger Out, you’re barking up the wrong tree. It’s Kroenke. He’s the devil. He’s the one who treats the club as business, and not a sporting venture. So until he’s gone, or he changes his philosophy, nothing will change, With or Without Wenger in charge.

  13. the wenger out brigade just goes for the prof because he epitomises the failures arsenal has had in the past decade, yes managerial failures name the youth products that are world class since 2007, a proper trophy, a tactical innovation, a unique way of training??? I respect him and believe he’s a legend at this club, I’m just gutted to see him go like this he should have went on a high and got replaced, I’m sure the same fans that say wenger out would love a statue of him at the emirates. I think Ian was dead on with his Mohammed ali comparison no one want to see a person they respect struggling to fight back. The real problem is a weak Gazidis and a loser boss who hasn’t got a clue about soccer as he would call it. whenever Stan buys a team he basques in its mediocrity. Nuggets, rams, avalanche all shit teams now that he owns them. I believe abuse should be targeted at the owner a chant about how he can ram an avalanche of nuggets up his ass would be a good start. Would rather have a passionate usmanov then a silent CuteUniqueNiceTalented moustache.

  14. That’s only possible if arsenal can perform for like 10 consecutive games…all d fans want to see is result #myopinion#

  15. (1) We were not “Brilliant” against Bournemouth. They were terrible, and we were OK.

    (2) Just because we managed to get a 0-0 draw at Stamford Bridge, that doesn’t mean all is well for the rest of the season.

    (3) Other clubs get rid of their managers when the fans aren’t happy, and everybody realises that they need a change to move forward. Why should Arsenal be any different?

  16. OMG have we come to this a Draw with Chelsea and all is forgiven. Arsenal are a Fickle Lot one minute we are calling for Wenger Head and then he is our saviour. please make up you mind.
    Wenger OUT.

  17. I would only like to ask those who oppose Wenger one question: Was he doing his job properly when other managers are working their socks off strengthing their teams?

He was only busy strengthening his own bank account.

  18. Arsenal fans need to challenge Wenger in order to bring the best out of him and the team……..yes he needs the fan behind him and the team……….but we need to keep the watch till things are better………current team performance shows he is listening………,please let’s not stop…………our support for Wenger is conditional…………..
