When Arsene Wenger spoke recently about the growing use of video technology in football he reminded us all of a few big incidents that went against Arsenal and which he thinks would have made big differences to ours and the sports history if they had used replays back then, and clearly the biggest one of these was the sending off of our German international keeper Jens Lehmann in the 18th minute of the 2006 Champions League final.
Arsenal still took the lead against Barcelona and nearly held on for a famous win but it was not to be. The red card did not stop the eccentric shot stopper from being named as the goalie of that season’s tournament and it was a rare blip in a pretty stellar career for Lehmann.
He played every single Premier League game of our Invincible title winning season of 2003/04, for example, and was also the Man of the Match when Arsenal claimed the FA cup in 2005 which would be our last major trophy for a decade. Okay the current squad have now won three FA cups in the last four years but they have also been accused of lacking the winning mentality needed to claim the league title.
So with Sky Sports reporting that Lehmann is close to returning to the club as a coach, I wonder if Arsene Wenger is trying to get his former keeper’s mentality to rub off as much as his ability and experience.
The German was sometimes a loose cannon (see what I did there?) but you could never question his desire to win, so will this coaching appointment be a factor in the Gunners challenging for major honours from now on?

With Jens Lehmann taking charge of the senior teams training, you can be sure that the days of seeing photos of our players joking around and smiling during sessions, will be long gone! And it’s about time training got serious, Thumbs up to Wenger for eventually realising that ? shame it took soo forking long. ?

Carvalho isn’t happening mate. Check the odds for us to sign him, it’s about 25/1. If there was any truth in this rumour the bookies wouldn’t be giving money on it…

Arsene Wenger is now plotting moves for Monaco’s Thomas Lemar, with Leicester winger Riyad Mahrez a back-up option.
The Mirror Sport can reveal that Monaco have quoted Arsenal a staggering £80m price tag for Lemar as they do not want to sell and that deal now seems increasingly unlikely unless a compromise can be reached.
Mahrez it is then? Better get in quick before Leicester bump up their valuation from £35 to £70 million lol

1st of all let’s get our midfield sorted out, if we are still playing the 3.4.2.1 formation i guess we don’t need Mahrez. I would want Wenger to put in a bid for Idrissa Gana Guaye of Evertonand sign him a very solid Midfielder. Kante was the Best CDM player in EPL for two season and won PFA player of the year last season, but check out his statistics comparison on Squawka.com and check for 2015/2016 and 2016/2017 for both of them Idrissa Guaye played for Aston Villa in 2015/2016 while Kante played for Leicester, in 2016/2017 they both played for Everton and Chelsea respectively.
Arsenal fans always wanted Kante-Xhaka pairing but after this statistic check you wiill realise that Guaye is very similar to kante and would be the best for us.
There are a few of the invincibles I would love to see coaching at Arsenal and the crazy german is one of them. His warrior mentality is just what we need to drive us and lift heads up, especially between the months of January and March which seems to be our Bermuda triangle. He will say it as it is which is needed sometimes in a changing room and what i dont think we get enough of. I am not criticising Wenger as he is a great manager on many levels and the respect he has within the sector proves that.
Things seem to be changing at Arsenal, adopting a new formation employing tatical changes depending on opposition and last but not least a change in backroom staff and the signing of a striker we all seem happy with. Would love us to get Lemar but at 80mil i agree with fatgooner just too much at this point.
I am hoping Lehmann, explain the importance of hard work in training and do not play favorites with any player
One thing I like about Lehman signing is his roots, he is coming from a winning generation of Arsenal, which had one of the very metallic winning mentality, which lacks in today’s squad. This could be one of the best summer signings, and I would love one or two more of the invincibles to toughen up the mentality of our squad. Go go go Arsenal, better days are back…
