Can Liverpool do Arsenal a BIG favour against Chelsea?

It has certainly been a slow burner of a season for Arsenal so far this year and without a fair bit of luck going our way then we would be even further adrift of the Premier League pace setters and bottom of our Champions League group.

We have seem this before from the Gunners in recent years though, before the momentum builds and we go on a great run, so it is not quite time to panic yet and the next two games give Arsenal a great chance to get some form going and get up to speed.

A trip to Hull City in the league, even though the Tigers have made a surprisingly good start to the season, is a game which Arsenal should win and one that should allow our creative juices to flow. The same goes for the first EFL cup match next week away to Nottingham Forest, even though I expect the boss to make quite a few changes.

To be honest we really need to be playing well after the next two matches because the one after that is the visit of Chelsea and our recent record against the Stamford Bridge boys is nothing short of abysmal. However, while the Gunners are hopefully building momentum, the opposite may be true of the Blues.

After a perfect start to life under Antonio Conte in their first three games, Chelsea slumped to a shock draw with Swansea last time out and their next two games are against a rejuvenated and dangerous Liverpool tomorrow and then Leicester in the cup.

If Jurgen Klopp can get a win or even a point off Chelsea he will have done us a huge favour, perhaps even allowing us to go into the match next weekend above them in the table. Wenger and the Arsenal players need to do their bit, of course, and perform much better than they have been, but if Liverpool can further dent Chelsea’s confidence, could we be set for a long overdue EPL win over them?
