Confirmed team for Boreham Wood v Arsenal – Cricket score predicted!

So we are back to proper football at last with Arsenal’s first game of the pre-season.  And here is the confirmed Arsenal team…..

And what a team! Lacazette and Aubameyang up front. Cech, Bellerin, Sokratis and Mavropanos to stop them scoring, and loads of promising youngsters in the middle, including Maitland-Niles and Willock! I can’t wait to see how Osei-Tutu and Smith-Rowe and Nelson get on as well.

I know it’s not nice to predict a cricket score, but with a team like that we should score a hatful in the first half, and give everyone a rest in the second half and give everyone a game that has trained since Emery’s first session. They will all be looking to impress the new manager, and hopefully the fans as well.

Let’s start building confidence!

Onwards and Upwards!

  1. Great to see the young players getting an early chance to impress.I believe this Manager desperately wants to bring these boys through over the next couple of seasons.

  2. From what I’ve observed last season, J Willock needs to improve drastically or he’ll be shipped out. Weak , timid , poor decision making and not creative enough.

I hope he proves me wrong

      1. Great to see AMN in the starting lineup -haven’t been this excited about a young player in ages

  3. Off topic:the way premier league teams are signing players now is getting scary, imagine west ham having 6th signing by this time

  4. Unai getting naughty , dirty ideas of playing Auba and Laca together… Not sure if the opponents will enjoy it as much as we do

    1. He was saddle with responsibility of stealing the bronze before the match is played as Southgate doesn’t believe in his boys abilities to get the job done.

  5. Auba is well prepared for the season. No world cup. enough time to rest. EPL top scorer loading…

    1. 4 – 0, Lacazette to Nelson, who caught it on his chest and volley’d it into the top left corner.

      1. Lacazette makes it 5, tucks it underneath the keeper after Auba put him through.

  6. Auba and lacazette combination is going to be deadly. EPL teams wn’t knw what hit them lolzz

  7. Aubameyang scored the last Arsenal goal under Wenger and just scored first three goals for Arsenal under Emery. Interesting

  8. Auba is in d left winger and looks dangerous making these runs am loving it
    Looks like Henry

  9. Smith Rowe is having a nice
Hoping he doesn’t incur the curse of flopping like of our team

  10. Aubameyang makes dreams possible. Those who say, lucky to be fourth, I say with Aubameyang we can dream.
With Lacazette pushing him, Mkhit on the same wavelength as him, and Terriera hunting the midfield centre, & Ramsey popping up on occasion, not to mention our young CB’s fighting for domination along with fullback positions covered. I say we can dream, dream big people, dream like its 2003/04!!. Aubameyang will not be stopped, no shackles can hold this dude down, if I were the enemy I’d be sh*ting bricks!!!!

    1. Then I reckon you would be very valuable in the building trade ,as many builders can’t get enough bricks. I am not joking about the shortage either. But I am pleased that you are NOT the enemy. But then, I am NOT a builder! Just for no special reason , I thought I would make a silly comment. But then in my long life, I have had plenty of practise.

        1. As if I would ever touch alcohol! The very thought,(hic) jusht becaust my speech is slurrrrred! Anyway, how else are you expected to get through the day!

  11. Thanks for the update guys as I’m unable to watch the match. Happy times are here. I’m having this feeling that Emery will be trying a combo of PEA and Laca as both guys are deadly and seem to understand themselves. Reiss Nelson had better buckle up as Emile-Smith Rowe is breathing down his neck on the skills and flair front.

      1. With the rate MTN dey take cut person neck for data, na em you dey stream life match eh bros?

        You get money o!

        Twaile ??

  12. Im not really keen on watching this match. It’s like a training session really.
You can’t really judge the new players because they are playing inferior quality.

Im more interested in our summer matches against Atletico Madrid, PSG, Chelsea and Sevilla

  13. PEA and Lacazette will destroy teams next season..I hope Unai Emery finds a way to accommodate both of them with Mikhitaryan feeding them…Exciting times ahead

  14. One of the major factor that played major role in city’s success in the EPL last season was the Hunger for goals regardless of anything. It gives the players great momentum and courage. I am happy to see our players scoring goals anyhow during this preseason. Arsenal hardly beat small teams 5-0 during wengers last 3seasons. Well-done Emery.

    1. England fa needs to start buying players from other nations to really have change of winning “major” trophies instead of making clubs pay ridiculous money in wages for their over hyped and talentless players. Aside for Kane which these deserve to earn over 100k in wages. The can’t dribble or hold the ball for 20 seconds. All they do hoofing forward and expect to get a goal through deflection or Kane to head it.

  15. the boys done their best…

not many qualified for the semis

at least we won the golden boot

          1. Yes very much Sue. Very hot standing on the terracing with no cover but a very good friendly crowd with some really good goals especially Auba’s first. I was standing to the left of the goal and it curled in beautifully. A few scary moments from the Wood, especially their centre forward, built like a brick sh*thouse but they only had a couple of chances early on really. First team looked good and AMN played really well. Nelson, Smith-Row and Jeff all impressed so did Eddie. The new lad Guendouzi looked very good for the short while he was on. It was three st the back in the second half and Holding was particularly impressive. Mustn’t get carried away but looking good so far.

            1. Glad you had a good day. I watched it online.. was so good to see our beloved Arsenal again, what a player Aubameyang is!! I do like the kit they wore, might have to get one!

          2. How unkind Sue. And there was me thinking you were a Spuds fan! REMEMBER HARRY KANE IS ONE OF THEIR OWN. I know this as we all hear the other imbeciles saying so , every game at Shite Hart Lane. True story this : about 1995 at Christmas, I was forced to go into the Spuds shop to get my deranged nephew a Spuds shirt. It still hurts! Never bought anything and left the shop quicker in my life. To think I actually gave my money to that lot. Oh the guilt!

            1. Jon that one of their own chant makes me sick ? at least now we won’t see him or any of the other spuds for a while!!
That must have been awful going in there, I couldn’t have done it! Shame on you ??? just kidding!

    1. what a lame excuse you are sir, firstly , you tell us football is coming home mr. ibrahim, then , suddenly , you change your tune, and tell us england are coming home with the bronze medal, and now, suddenly you are happy that a spurs player will probably win the golden boot at this world cup.you are actually crowing about the fact that harry cane is coming home with the golden boot !!!??. i have heard it all now , are you an arsenal fan in the first place at all ?.all you have been shouting about lately is england , not all arsenal fans on here are english . so please give it a rest at last , surely you must be hoarse from shouting nonsenses for the past month.

    2. John Ibrahim, Have you taken your face paint off yet, put your three lions shirt in the draw for another four years because sadly it’s people and pundits {Shearer, Hoddle and yes our own Dixon and Wright} like you who continually over hype this England team which puts too much pressure and belief on these average players that turns them into losers. For example, they’re all saying that Southgate done a great job? Huh, what a laugh, he was lucky to play for England and even luckier to manage them. I’ll give you some facts:Sterling 44 games 2 goals, Alli 30 games 3 goals, Lingard18 games 2 goals, Rashford 21 games 3 goals all prefered to our own, Danny Welbeck 40 games 16 goals and except for 10 minutes as sub, never used. brainless management. They got what they deserved, nothing.

      1. Sterling is awful Kenny, going by your stats the others are just as bad. Welbz didn’t get a look in & he usually plays well for them!
I’m glad its over, on to more important things like AFC ?

        1. Absolutely Sue, more important things like AFC. I’m sure you watched the Arsenal game today, I know it was only Boreham Wood at Meadow Park { A ground incidentally I played at a few times in the 70’s when they were in the old Athenian League}, However Auba looked on fire and I was very impressed with the youngsters. Players like AMN and RN are ready for the first team and Eddie looked really impressive, I also liked the look of Smith-Rowe and the back line. Early days but excited about the upcoming season.

          1. I did indeed Kenny, was very impressed with them! Even if it was just against Boreham, always nice to see them bang in that many goals!
Can’t wait for Auba to be unleashed next season, he’ll definitely be in for the golden boot!
Ooh check you out playing there hey! Pity you didn’t make it to Highbury

    3. Then your phrase should have been ” Golden boot award coming home”

      Lol.
English is the most overrated team in the World.
Nigeria, my country, is the most overrated team in Africa.

  16. At least Unai walked into yhe pitch after the game. All are still rusty though
Wenger would have dashes into the dungeon like a coxroach being chased by a cat

  17. @john Ibrahim, just agree England are only good against inferior teams,England can never beat a technical team like Belgium

  18. If Ramsey looked disinterested I say sell him and sign Max Meyer…The last thing we need is another Alexis situation.. Besides, Ramsey will not be missed that much

    1. Yeah if Ramsey thinks he can go all Billy Big Bollocks on us then he can F**k OFF.Lets see how many teams actually come banging on the door for him.In this country?Everton at best.Abroad? Not as big a Club as he thinks. He works at Arsenal (occasionally) but I believe he only works in his comfort zone.Could he really cut it anywhere else?

      1. I can’t see what Ramsey is waiting for either. Either he wants to play for us OR he does not. If he does NOT, then I doubt too many Gooners will be heart broken. This is , intentionally, classic British understement! Put in terrace speak, it means sign now or bu…r off!

        1. I’ve always said it, Cardiff City is his level, and to think he’s demanding 200K a week. We’ve got to many good youngsters in his position who could do a better job and while he stays he’s holding them back.

      2. AMN should be the 1st choice @ B2B, even
at 19 years young and with limited time on
the pitch last season his skill set and
positional understanding is FAR superior to
the Welshman. Ramsey is and will always be
a #10 and shouldnt be shoehorned into the
starting line up based on his engine and
tantalizing flicks?. Emery needs to choose
between him and Ozil, with Miki as the
        rotational back up.

Personally I would love to see AFC sell both
Ramsey and Welbeck to finance a move for a
difference maker on the wings like Bailey or D. Costa.

        1. Sell Ozil and Ramsey to finance move for Isco. AFC need to stop f-Inf around now the Stubborn-one has gone and secure world-class talent in ALL positions.
We have one WC striker in Auba.
One WC DM in Torreira and that’s it.
No WC defenders, Leno is not a WC keeper and none of our midfielders are world beaters, they’re good and some dull of promise, but not – I hate to say it, Spurs, Chelsea, City or United quality. AMN is the only one who looks to really break through.

  19. Can see the team being
    Leno
    Bel sok mavr Chamb Monreal
    AMN Torriera Xhaka
    ozil
    Lacca Auba

    1. Yeah not a bad side but I’m not sure the Premiere League Eli let us play TWELVE PLAYERS IN THE STARTING LINE UP. If they do then we might do pretty well

      1. Easily solved, just leave out Xhaka. I’ d leave out Bellerin too but then we would only have ten players playing, same as we would have even if BELLERIN STAYED IN THE ELEVEN. I just can’t see what any fan ever sees in Bellerin; alright if you like bad hairstyles and social media mania in your players and are content with defenders who can’t and won’t defend. PERSONALLY, AFTER THE LAST DECADE I HAVE HAD QUITE ENOUGH OF DISASTROUS AND TIMID DEFENDERS.

        1. Well JF-it will be very interesting to see if Emery is able to get better and more consistent performances out of Bellerin.Whenhe First came into the team he looked a real talent with his best assets being his pace and his ability to go past opponents when attacking. The last two seasons he has been poor. The fact Wenger was in charge obviously meant he didn’t receive any defensive coaching but to suddenly stop beating players on the outside showed that he was going backwards in his development.I have sort of given him a short time reprieve at the moment along with Mustafi and Xhaka. If Emery could sell and replace all three it would not bother me in the slightest. But there is little likelihood of this happening so I believe all three will be here next season. This will prove both Emery’s abilities as a coach and the players abilities to perform.Of Emery succeeds then this will prove Wenger really was incapable of Coaching. This would be of no surprise at all.

      1. Yeah absolutely-Let’s just get rid of Ozil. What has he got that Iwobi hasn’t?
Can Ozil run around like Iwobi flapping his arms like Big Bird from Seseme Street?NO
Can Ozil continually misplace even a simple 5yard pass like Iwobi?NO
Can Ozil shoot at goal like a five year old girl with pigtails like Iwobi?NO
Can Ozil show off his World Cup Winners medal and compare it to Iwobi’s performances in being benched by Nigeria after less than one game and then be a substitute before getting knocked out?NO
Can Ozil expect to be in the team after being caught on the lash TWO DAYS before getting humiliated by a second rate pub team from the Championship in defence of the FA Cup like Owobi?NO
DO you really want me to go on?
If ANYONE seriously believes Alex Fat Bottom Iwobi is a better footballer than Mesut Ozil then please book yourself into the Doctors for a brain transplant immediately.
You have embarrassed yourself beyond belief with that comment.

        1. So then , just to clarify Phil, you prefer Ozil to Iwobi. Quite a coincidence really, as around 60000 every week think the very same thing. Fancy that! Actually I prefer rabies to Iwobi!

          1. JF-you never know.It could just be that 60,000 are wrong and he is right.
Then again they do tend to get themselves a bit too over excited theses Africans don’t they?Whats the chances of Iwobi not even making the bench?Pretty high I would think. And what’s the chances of Iwobi NOT being an Arsenal player this time next year?Again pretty high I would say.And what’s the chances of Naija Jollof ever understanding anything about what football? This time I would suggest never.
I can understand different views from people but to write that comment makes me believe he has caught rabies. He is obviously not of a sound mind with little hope of ever being cured.

  20. Nice work out:

    Points
    – Smith-Rowe is going to be a star, Nelson and Willock ok
    – AMN is a wonderful player, who works from box to box (really not worried if Ramsay goes)
    – Sokratis did not impress me, made a lot of errors and could not manage a pacey striker.
    – Mustafi had a far better game
-Aub and laca combo looks very dangerous
    – Tutu a really interesting player, very comfortable and strong on the ball would love to see him in the RB position

    others from second half

    – Callum in DM position a position i think he can actually manage without much change in his style of play, let us see if this experiment persist.
    – Jeff still needs to improve needs to develop the calm nature of AMM
    – Perez really looked busy and i was impressed
    – Ramsay, Ramsay fair outing (who is interested in buying ramsay, may be an Ozil situation)
    – Jenkinson overly excited, but i actually think he is a better defender and crosser than Bellerin.

The others i do not think need much mention they did what was required, would love to hear Emery assessment of each player, but on to a tougher game, i hope they squeeze in a game or two between then.

    1. Didn’t watch the game though nice to read that Jenko had a good game along with Niles & that Jeff scored a goal, great for all their confidence. Chambers in DM not a bad shout from Emery, then he puts both Laca & Auba up top together… not bad from the new boss!!

  21. Imagine the commentator saying after Auba’s penalty “Just like Harry Kane in the world cup”. Chai! English commentator.

Thank you Crotia for saving us this sort of commentary all season.

    1. Yeah i noticed that too just hope we didn’t sign mertesacker 2.0 but honestly he was panicking way too often for someone his level

  22. Tony Adams and Steve Bould didn’t have pace but if they are coached in a defensive unit then it’s not such a big requirement. The player has signed for a Club that has appointed a COACH.This is not something we have been used to at Arsenal for a DECADE.

    1. Win 3 fa cups in 4 years and 3 community shields in 4 years then we know we have a coach, win double in ur first full season and give us a golden trophy we will also know we have a coach, give us a superior
head to head count against every team in English football bar man u through out ur tenure then we will also know we have a coach, win onze d’or (best coach in Europe )a record 4 times in ur tenure we will also we have a coach, be crowned world best coach as arsenal coach then we will know we have a coach, be crowned world best coach of d decade as arsenal coach then we also know we have a coach, get us great great bargains like thiery Henry, fabregas, Patrick viera,RVP,ADEBAYOR,,SONG,EBUE,KANU NWANKWO, OVERMERS, PETIT, PIRES, FREDDIE, KOLO TURE,CAMPBEL,CLICHY,SAGNA,KOSCIENLY,Bellerin,AMN,RAMSEY,HLEB,FLAMINI,PIRES,ETC then we have a coach, wow the world with wonderful and magical football for over 2 decades and attract fans all over the world and make arsenal the 2nd most valuable club in English football then we know we have a coach, suggest, start, finish and pay off the most beautiful stadium, the most beautiful locker room, and the best training centre in English football without the club facing any financial crisis then we know we have a coach, give us 20 years consecutive champions league football then we know we have a coach, having ungrateful and unrepentant assholes is always a turn off, for calling wenger a no coach some pple surely need a rehab and very fast for real,

      1. Well doesn’t this now make YOU THE ARSEHOLE PAL.Read what I wrote.LAST DECADE I WROTE.Most of your defence of our RECENTLY SACKED MANAGER was 15-20 years ago.Wenger was SACKED because of his failure to prevent the downward spiral Arsenal Football Club was in due to WENGERS INCOMPETENCE and WENGERS MISMANAGEMENT of LAST SEASON.
You seem a right old Trumpet Gob with all your facts and stats of yesteryear. So how about going back to LAST SEASON.
        *Sixth in the Premiership
        *Humiliated in Carabao Cup Final
        *Lost Away games to
        BRIGHTON
        SWANSEA
        STOKE CITY
        WATFORD
        BOURNEMOUTH
        NEWCASTLE
        LEICESTER CITY
        *Drew Away games to
        WEST BROM
        SOUTHAMPTON
        WEST HAM
All these teams finished BELOW Arsenal in the League.Thats a total of 27 points lost against lesser teams. If Arsenal had won all those games we would have finished SECOND.Not SIXTH.BUT SECOND.
Wenger was SACKED simply because he FAILED IN HIS JOB.Its what you do when you fail. You are SACKED.
We had a HALF EMPTY STADIUM because supporters had lost faith in Wenger.Thats why he was SACKED.
We had protests against Wengers management.Thats why he was SACKED.
If Wenger was the Football Demi god you believe him to be Why is he still out of work looking for a job since he was SACKED?

And REAL SUPPORTERS never Class the Community Shield as a Trophy. Its a pre season friendly at Wembley.Thats all it is.A nice day out before the season starts.
So TRUMPET GOB-if you wish to continue defending a Manager who had clearly lost the confidence and respect of the Owner Chairman Board and most importantly the Fan Base then think back to what you you wrote a realise what a pathetic and worthless post you have delivered.
We have been here before with YOU.You continue to embarrass yourself.

  23. OT- Does anyone know if the World Cup players will get 3 weeks off from when their team ended their world cup play, or is it three weeks from when the World Cup is over? I’m wondering how much of the pre-season Ozil, Torreira, Xhaka, Monreal, Elneny, Iwobi, Ospina, Wellbeck, and Lichsteiner will miss.

    1. I think you will find that Wenger had lost all his power when Aubamayang was sighted and the credit should go to Sven M and Raul
