Champions League woe to help Arsenal beat Real Madrid to Aguero transfer?

Whether or not it will be Arsene Wenger who is in charge of the transfer side of things for Arsenal Football Cl;ub this summer remains to be seen, as we are still none the wiser about what the Frenchman will decide to do at the end of this season.

Be it Wenger or a new manager in charge, though, you would expect it to be quite a busy summer for the Gunners after yet another challenge for the Premier League title slipped away and we are on the verge of an early exit from the Champions League at the same stage that we have seen Arsenal fail to get past for the last six years.

Even if we manage to persuade the two biggest names in the current squad to sign new contracts and stay in north London, the Arsenal fans will want Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil to be joined by some more top class players to give us a chance of actually winning a big trophy.

I would also assume that the Chilean striker and the German playmaker will be after some sort of assurances that the club is ambitious and will offer them a proper chance of top honours next season and one former Gunner Ray Parlor would love to see Arsenal go for the Man City striker Sergio Aguero, Metro reports.

There has been a lot of talk about him moving on this summer as he does not appear to have a great relationship with Pep Guardiola. Aguero is said to be keen on joining Real Madrid, according to The Sun, but their report also suggests that Madrid may not agree to meet his transfer fee and that City would prefer not to see the striker go tom a big rival for the Champions League which is their main target.

Whether they would be more keen to see him come to Arsenal is unclear, but yet another poor season in Europe should mean that they do not see us as a big threat to their European dreams. Could that help Arsenal to secure this huge transfer and will our club step it up to make this sort of big money signing?

  1. If Madrid want to sign Aguero they will sign him,so forget about whether they will meet transfer fee or not, they are not Arsenal, and also stop dreaming of Aguero coming to Arsenal.

Another fact u should stop dreaming about is another manager coming to Arsenal nxt summer,if Wenger refuses to retire am not seeing him leaving Arsenal for another club.

We are alwys at the same level, change will start when Wenger retires, so people bear the pain of at most 2 more years of hrtbreak. I now watch Arsenal reducing my passion to limit hrtbreak.

    1. only real chance of Wenger going is us getting 5th. If he can “inspire” Arsenal to another 4th place trophy, it satisfies the board, and let’s be honest, it’ll satisfy most of the Emirates crowd as well. I don’t think Arsene goes either, because he’s a master at manipulating fans into making UCL spots seem like trophies. Prepare for a few more years of winning absolutely nothing. The circus will certainly continue.

  2. Why would Aguero in his right mind come to Arsenal?lets be frank here and just stop dreaming he has so many better options than us

  3. This Article is next to rubbish……….. I’m sorry!.
    .
It’s no surprise….Arsenal remains the garbage can to fruits, perishable refuses, and unrecyclable materials…
    .
Yea!….suck out their best years and send the remnants to Arsenal.
    .
    How exciting that sounds????

  4. Honestly, I think Wenger is happy with the forwards we have. In other words he is clueless

I like both Welbeck and Lucas but don’t really understand why we got them as Welbeck wasn’t an improvement and Lucas was a gamble because he is 28 and only 1 good season (also he hardly starts even though he has performed well)
we should have got a WC Forward in past few years
Now we have: Alexis, Giroud, Welbeck, Lucas, Iwobi, Ox, Walcott, Akpom, Sanogo, Campbell
We are collecting average to good players (except Alexis who is WC)
In order to get another WC forward we need to get rid of a few of the above for funds and clear up wages.

1 Top forward is not enough to win the PL
I classify Giroud and Welbeck as good forwards (not consistent as Alexis and finishing not as good)
Chelsea have Hazard and Costa (as well as some other good to very good backup forwards)

    1. Hey girl!……How dare u Leave out our worldclass Kung-fu panther Takuma Asano…from your list of worldclass forwards????

  5. I’m not sure if you played for City and won titles you’ll want to come to Arsenal. In any case, I think the kind of striker we need is a big man someone like Lewy, Falcao or Cavani.

  6. Please get it into your heads,Sanchez is that the last Ambitious forward that Arsenal will ever have/had until some changes comes to this club on the ambition front,if there’s no changes, then we can only attract developing players who wants to get introduced to the world by playing for Arsenal. So forget any big name target you might have been dreaming of.

    1. Spot on. We’ll only have the Bellerins and only until they reach maturity and bugger off in search of silverware.
Now, I propose a bet. I say Bellerin buggers off in the summer transfer window of 2018/2019 season. What say you?
