Chelsea scored seconds into their match against Arsenal yesterday, shocking Arsenal fans who had expected their team to start well and win the match comfortably. The early goal was an unexpected setback for the Gunners, particularly given their defensive strength and the confidence surrounding their ability to control matches.
Chelsea have not had problems scoring goals this summer, so Arsenal knew they were capable of finding the net. However, the Gunners have the best defence in the league, and they have shown that they can shut down any club and prevent them from scoring.
Arsenal respond to early setback
That was what Arsenal fans had expected to see in the match, which made Chelsea’s early lead even more surprising. The Blues scored after just 77 seconds, leaving supporters stunned by the way the match had started.
The early setback could also have been a significant blow to the players’ confidence, particularly because Arsenal had been expected to control the game. Instead, the Gunners responded well and refused to allow the early goal to derail their performance.
Arsenal eventually recovered and got the job done, earning a 2-1 win in the fixture. The turnaround did not surprise Ian Wright, who remained confident that the Gunners could overcome the setback and secure victory.
Wright remained confident in Arsenal
Even when it seemed the Gunners could lose the match, Wright reveals that he still believed Arsenal would win. His confidence remained despite Chelsea taking such an early advantage.
Speaking on Sky Sports, he explained that he had expected Arsenal to find a way back into the game because of the way Chelsea were set up. He said:
“I said at the start I was very confident Arsenal were going to win the game. Them scoring in 77 seconds, you are disappointed to see that, but I always felt we were going to get in the game at some stage as they were going to play with their low block and then play on the counter.”
Wright’s comments highlight the belief that Arsenal could eventually break through despite Chelsea’s early advantage. The Gunners remained composed, recovered from the setback and completed the comeback with a 2-1 victory.

Ian Wright a true legend in every sense, his rant may have force Arteta to speak to the young Martineli.
There is a posting by Gabriel Martineli saying good by to the Arsenal faithfuls, with no mention of Arteta .
This speaks volumes of the break down of communication by the gaffer as he shows his horn, Wright must be given his flowers for speaking out, for the voiceless
“as he shows his horn” 😱😱😱

The Spaniard have been saying,’ Gabbi knows we all love him’ but that’s a facade.
He was left out of the team, without been spoken to, is that the way you treat someone who you love.?
The player have shown tremendous love to the club even in leaving, . by going to a league which we all know can’t be the best for him.
The fact that we won after being behind is a reflection of the stronger mentality which the players have developed as a result of our winning the Premier League last season.Physiological , being Champions brings a stature and confidence which adds a dimension to our squad ,particularly when the going gets tough.Long may this continue.
