Arsenal are back at the Emirates Stadium this afternoon as Mikel Arteta’s side take on Borussia Dortmund in the Emirates Cup.

After spending much of pre-season away from home, today’s fixture gives Arsenal supporters the opportunity to welcome Arteta and his Premier League Champions squad back to the Emirates ahead of the new campaign.
Borussia Dortmund should also provide strong opposition as Arsenal continue working towards full match fitness and sharpness.

Arteta’s team selection gives supporters plenty to discuss as the Arsenal manager continues assessing his options during the final stages of pre-season.
While results are not necessarily the priority in friendly fixtures, every opportunity on the pitch matters for players attempting to establish themselves in Arteta’s plans.
The Emirates Cup also brings a slightly different atmosphere compared to Arsenal’s other summer fixtures. The Gunners are back in familiar surroundings and playing in front of their own supporters, with the beginning of the competitive campaign getting ever closer.

I was hoping to see a left winger that can actually take on a defender.

Upside is most of the players on show won’t get near the starting 11, just goes to show how much we need Rice and Saka but hopefully they will be available next Sunday
