Confirmed Arsenal team to take on Leeds at the Emirates today

The teams are out for today’s Super Sunday clash at home to Leeds, where Arsenal will be desperate to overturn their three-game winless run.

We were unable to get the better of the Whites in the reverse fixture back in November, with Nicolas Pepe’s red card the stand out action of the encounter, and that may well be the reason he has been left out of today’s line-up.

Today we come into the tie with a fresh slate, but once again have torrid form to overcome. We should be fresh for the clash with the longest gap between matches since the international break, thanks to our elimination from the FA Cup, and you would imagine the manager will have had sufficient time to prepare.

I hate to admit that the winner of today’s match will temporarily secure tenth spot in the Premier League table, but more importantly, a win would see us move to within six points of the Champions League places (you never know).

While today’s visitors have the better form coming into the clash, you would think that Arsenal will rightly be considered as the favourites to secure a win, and one is most definitely needed.

The Europa League returns to action this week, when we travel to Rome to take on Benfica in the first of two neutral legs, and it remains to be seen if this XI was named with that in mind, but it is a huge boost to have Bernd Leno (and David Luiz…) back available.

Does this line-up give you inclinations as to who will get the nod to start in the Europa come Thursday? What scoreline do you expect having seen the Gunners starting line-up?

    1. Not entirely unexpected. Take off one of your better players and replace him with one of your poorer ones, the end result ????? That game against Newcastle suddenly comes to mind.

    1. He messes the team up. This team has a momentum going forward, Arteta will choose to mess it all up. Nonsense! I’m gutted.

  1. Please can anyone tell me what Arteta brought Williams to do, to defend or to score goals for us? I think Arteta is one of the biggest problem we have. He does things well and also help to spoil it, by his useless substitutions.

  2. Arteta out man. I can’t believe he subbed on Willian. I can’t believe he didn’t understand that Leeds could maybe score goals. Or that it might rain today. Ya know? I can’t BELIEVE he’s losing games w this team; this squad of stars aplenty…

    🙄🤦‍♂️
    (Sarcasm)

  3. Arteta you shit , his substitutions are makes no sense, players substituted by the worst players of our sqaud

        1. Sometimes understandable if we lost, but today I dont think Mikel can be faulted for anything. We had a plan, and we executed it bloody well! His subs were based on the situations, so to call him out on that is unfair.

          1. I just pointed out his decision to bring willian instead of martinelli, pepe, even the tired esr is far better than Willian ,what’s his contribution to the team he’s just imbalanced the team play and gives opposite team some confidence for the comeback

          2. Yeah bro. Understood your thrust. But what I think is that the subs were based on the match situation. Leeds were rough today and mayne Marty will play the full game on thursday? For Pepe I think MA did not want Pepe exposed to the Leeds players’ dirty tactics because last time he got a red. But we won, so I took issue with your Arteta is shit comment.

  4. I dont like to dig out players but what has willian done since he came on and why didn’t arteta take off aubameyang instead

    1. Who knows? He might have thought the game safe at 4-1 and hoped an open attacking game by Leeds would allow Aubameyang another crack at goal which it almost did.

    2. I believe everyone has a valid opinion and concern which is legitimate, but firstly I dont know why Arteta even bought Willian in the 1st place!!!! What a waste of the clubs money and the worse is, he’s on a 3 year deal if I’m not mistaken. We could of used that money too buy a better player and pay them that money, dont get me wrong Willian is not a bad player in actual fact he’s reasonably good it’s just that he’s not consistent, one game good next game trash 😂 we need to get rid of William, I dont know why he didn’t keep Willock or even Ainsley because Ainsley can play that position even better then Willian…

  5. Great result good performance but rather than look at the negatives today let’s enjoy the positives. Also the leeds player Dallas is a twat for that foul on aubameyang near the end

  6. I think some people just want us to always lose so that they can have valid reason to moan. And when we refuse to lose, they lose their happiness becos they can’t push their negative narrative. What a life!

HBP is real people, don’t die young.
