Confirmed Arsenal team to take on Man United – Welbeck starts!

Arsenal have announced their side to take on Manchester United today, and Danny Welbeck is a surprise inclusion against his former side.

Granit Xhaka was ruled out of today’s game when Arsene Wenger held his pre-match press conference on Thursday, but returned to training yesterday and has managed to recover in time to play today.

Shkodran Mustafi has been in training this week but has been left out of the squad, with Holding and Monreal lining up alongside Koscielny.

I’m not quite sure of Wenger’s thinking with Danny Welbeck, as I would much prefer to have seen Theo Walcott or Alexis Sanchez playing centrally to add to their impressive tallies this term.

Will this team be strong enough to win today?

  3. Prefer Welbeck there than Walcott or Giroud. Otherwise we’d have two players doing allot of ball watching. I hope Danny switches around with Ozil if our wing-back starts getting isolated.

  7. easy win. Never sure about Ramsey starting and not happy about the left flank being ruled by two left backs with Monreal and Gibbs, last time that didn’t generate much forward pressure. Guess Wenger is afraid of Man U.

    1. neither are that good. Iwobi played for several months after his form took a massive dip. I don’t know why you’re hyping him up when he wouldn’t really make much of a difference.

  27. Okay first half. At least we looks capable of creating chances. Better decision making in final third is needed though. Ox is making poor choices today in good positions. Holding has been great so far, Xhaka decent too… As usual, Ozil keeps you wanting. Don’t get it.
