Confirmed Arsenal XI for massive Man Utd FA cup clash

Danny Welbeck will not have the chance to help Arsenal to another FA cup win over his former club Manchester United tonight, as the England international striker is ruled out of the cup clash due to injury. The Gunners also have to do without Hector Bellerin and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, but can the Arsenal players who are available stop the new United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer from making it eight wins from eight since replacing our old pal Jose ‘Maureen’ Mourinho.

Unai Emery must know that this cup competition is now a very important opportunity to add some much needed gloss to his season, as it often was for Arsene Wenger, because the likelihood of a top four finish is slipping further away. Because of these circumstances and the opposition, you would have to admit that a win tonight would do wonders for the Gunners, so what Arsenal team will Emery select?

  1. Atleast he’s playing 4 at the back but how bad does iwobi have to play to get dropped ,we all saw last week when he was dropped how much a better unit we looked .
    If I was ozil I would just ask to leave . Absolutely shocking that he plays second fiddle to iwobi and even Ramsey a player who is leaving .

Iwobi is average but I’ll pick him over Ramsey at LW any day of the week.You do realize that even though he’s average he’s the only player along with AMN who can take a player on actually beat him in the team?Ramsey offered nothing from an attacking point of view last week and the midfield three were poor going forward last week so I’m glad Ramsey is actually playing in his original position today.

      1. Yes, Iwobi is the only one that is usually willing to dribble past the opponents and has the good skills to do it

        The other midfielders are just too afraid to risk their legs and lose the ball, therefore they usually release the ball quickly to run from the one-on-one situations

        1. And Iwobi dribbles past 3 players then either passes to the opposition or balloons the ball over the bar.

      2. Please remind me when he’s taking players on and beaten them .hes fcking ago plain and simple and I’m not sure which match you watched against Chelsea beacuse with Ramsey playing with laca and auba we looked solid and compact .
        Anyway I’m not going to get into a discussion about him again after last week ,end of the day I think he’s sh1t and he shouldn’t be in the team ,as was proved last weekend

You’re not getting my point.Ramsey is not a LW and never ever better than Iwobi at LW.Iwobi is an average player but when you look at this team he’s the only closest thing to a winger hence why he starts.Do you think if Arsenal had a proper squad Iwobi will get anywhere near the team?I also don’t know the match you watched last week.Arsenal were great defensively but not that good when they had the ball.Ramsey offered absolutely nothing attacking wise but was good defensively and in his pressing.Unfortunately today he once again starts out of position at No. 10.

    2. Ramsey has 6 assists and Iwobi produced 4 assists in EPL, hence they are not second fiddle

    Sanchez always has the world class composure in the penalty box

    and Koscielny usually cannot play the offside trap well, even during his prime

    Or even done something to address the lack of defending ability we have.
    If George Graham was dead he would be turning in his grave watching this lot…

    Thats £1.4 million for running about on a training pitch, having a nice little workout in the club gym and sitting on a bench.

    1. So watching the game in Dubai-And all of a sudden Ozil comes onto the pitch and we start looking dangerous within seconds.AND he has done this without running round like a headless chicken just to please some who say it’s all about workrate.

      1. One day we are hot the other we are cold. As for our coach when is he going to learn, how many times have we been beaten on goals scored from counterattacking. You have to go for kill if your play is based on attacking like city or pool. What does he think Ozil will do in this match when all the players that fit his tactics couldn’t do anything. He left him out when we are winning against Chelsea but brought him on when we are losing to Man U. Is trying to the world see he plays but we lose.

  27. 1_3, hurry Emery, there is only one thing to learn from today’s game tactics and defence. Every time a team comes up with this same tactics of counter attack against us (home or away) it works.

  29. Is anybody going to say Lacazette was at fault for that goal? Same at Stamford Bridge gifting Chelsea the winner. Why is it so hard for our players to play a simple pass at time, either has to be extravagant or just plain casual.

    With the removal of Iwobi, our attacks became very easy for Man Utd defenders to contain

    We are less dangerous without him

    I was reminded of Ozil’s talent today, he has something no-one else has in the team

    Just that his total game needs more passion, bite and some grit

I saw nothing special or different from Ozil, for all the creativity he apparently brings to the table, 5 yard passes sideways backwards no penetration, I saw him playing off the shoulder of the defender towards the end as well, right smack bam between the two defenders where laca and auba should have been operating. I don’t know if he fancies himself a cf nowadays or it was his usual hiding from the ball, but I was disappointed for all the work he’s been apparently putting in. Atleast with Iwobi we had penetration but still there was no final ball. Why emery chose to start him and play the 4-3-3 I will never know, it’s clear we don’t have the personnel for it. The diamond 4-4-2 was so effective!! One step forward one step back. Nothing worse than losing to Utd! I properly dislike that lot

      1. He did it to make Auba work today and Laca relax more by being the top Striker

        At the sides Laca works his socks off, he did just some days ago against Chelsea, requesting that off him again back-to-back against a much more physical Man Utd might take him to the RED or he simply just gets injured

        So he plays a formation to make the lazy Auba work a lil more

        Yet Auba still does so little even from the side

        Laca is so passionate, when he went behind he left the top striker position and starter working up and down the pitch again

        Ozil is talented
        But his talent kinda a luxury we can replace/do without

  34. We need two fullbacks that play as fullbacks and not continuously out of position up front. Time and time again we were caught out on the flanks where our backs should have been. In the end we were a sh1t team beaten by another sh1t team.

  35. When was the last time we got our backsides kicked in both cup competitions at home in the same season. Emery has been found out , not a bad coach but not to the standard required by arsenal.

  38. Even comparing Iwobi who we all know is average at best to our supposedly world class and highest player shows there is something wrong with Arsenal. These two and many others in the team are just not good enough for our ‘top’ team. But it is what it is now…

    By the way, I almost detest Aubameyang, he’s too prototyped for my liking

    Emery is just a brainless version of stubborn Wenger. I still prefer Wenger to emery. At least our wingback isn’t as porous as this… I dont blame our central back,, the have to play as a wing back too. Who does that…. See how compact man u defence was..

    If Emery continue to bench Ozil, then we should settle for 6th…
