Could Petr Cech really be MORE confident?

Arsenal’s brilliant summer signing Petr Cech has been stunningly consistent for the Gunners since his arrival from Chelsea. He has been one of the big reasons fr Chelsea’s past successes and now he is doing the same for the Gunners. Awesome player, cool, calm and confident no matter what strikers throw at him.

But the big Czech international believes he would be even BETTER if he hadn’t had to wear his protective cap after having his skull fractured way back in 2006. Cech said: “I would be more confident if I had it off,”

“Whether you like it or not, the helmet affects your surroundings. You have your ears covered and it makes hearing worse.

“But the doctor has forbidden me to take off the helmet. If I did, I would not get insurance.”

Can anyone imagine him being even better then he is now? Okay wearing the cap may have affected his ability to hear what is going on around him on the pitch, but if so, it has amplified his other senses. His reactions times are stunning. His positioning is usually perfect, and it certainly doesn’t stop him seeing what is going on and making sure his defenders know exactly what he wants them to do.

No, I don’t believe he can be any better than he already is….

  1. I wish Match day will come sooner…are we seriously discussing the use of a helmet on a skull fractured goalie…

  2. Stay save man. Football is a nothing compared to your own health. I even wonder how some people go back in the pitch, after going through brutal injuries.

I have an broken ankle, and every time i play football i P$%$ my pants when someone tackles me. lol.

Snap city is not the place to go.

    1. Exactly, it really can be a psychological set back. After recovering from a broken leg, u just dread tackles.

  3. Peter Cech, d best among d rest….
If only Chelsea had Cech in d dressing room at this point. But sorry, he is now a gunner, and we Luv him…
    C’mon Cech, win us d EPL… Make Chelsea pay….
    GOYG, COYG!!!!!

  4. Remember that game against West Ham after which some here asked he be dropped??? Lol! He’s just a legend, damn good a keeper.

  5. Well I think it’s a bit more interesting than speculating about whether Messi will sign for Arsenal. Hearing will be dulled and that’s not great. In compensation I should think the helmet would sharpen other senses and maybe concentration. Also it ought to enforce a more disciplined system of communication between the GK and the back four. I’m guessing that’s happened. It’s reall only at the Allianz that the first team defence has been all at sea.
