The transfer windows are a frustrating affair and this one for Arsenal fans has been probably one of the most frustrating in living memory.
The main reason for that is that we know we have a limited transfer budget and yet Arsenal have been linked with a ton of players, with a lot of them out of our price range.
What we have recommended in the past is to find a few journalists or online sources that you trust and use them as a guide to weigh up the credibility of the daily dose of rumours.
One of those journalists for us is Charlie Watts at Goal.com, like David Ornstein of the BBC he is not always right but in comparison to the vast majority of journalists out there, he is as reliable as they come.
So when he makes a statement I tend to listen and that is exactly what I am doing with his comments on Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos.

He is not saying it is done and dusted or in the bag or anything like that but he has confirmed that Arsenal is in talks with the Spanish giants and that those talks are progressing well.
And that is significant.
Ceballos would be a good signing for us even if it is a loan, certainly better than some of the players that have been linked with us.
I am now fairly confident that a deal will be agreed, especially in light of the “be excited” comments from Josh Kroenke.
This is one to definitely keep an eye on and add to William Saliba and Kieran Tierney as signings that are very possible.
No! If we’re going to loan I’d prefer more experienced players such as: Kallstrom, or Suarez.

The latest information on Ceballos is that the deal with Real Madrid involves a loan with the option for Arsenal to buy the player at the end of the season. This would be more in Arsenal’s interest, because it means that if Ceballos succeeds, Arsenal have first option to buy. Hopefully the transfer price would be reasonable, otherwise he will return to Real Madrid or be sold elsewhere.

Not disagreeing arie82, but I have read both alternatives and a trying to stay positive ?. We will have to wait and see what actually happens.
This seems like a good move. Get this loan, and spend our pathetic transfer budget on Tierney and hopefully a winger. Too bad we cannot get a decent CB in with the funds we have. But Ceballos, Tierney (not convinced we can even do this still), and a winger like Everton/Fraser would be a redeemable window. Really a disaster that absolutely nobody wants out deadwood.
Please this deal should go through, a very strong hard working midfielder will be nice partnership with Torreira. Tierney and Everton S. should join as well.

This would be a good signing, I haven’t seen anywhere that there is an option to buy in the deal,but anything can happen, he may have a good season here and Real may decide that they won’t need him after all and offer that option at the end of the season ,who can say what will happen,he is a good player and as cash is tight he would be a very good addition.
