  1. Messi has been linked with unnamed EPL teams. I know his wage demands will be quite beyond what we’re able to offer, but would he be a good fit for this Arsenal side?

    1. Am afraid Messi at his current age is finished, he can not make it in the premier league.

    2. Given what you correctly said about his wage demands, then WHY ask such an irrelevant question?

      It may just be thr way I am made, but I have neve been ablde to understand why SOME of our fans are at all intertested in things which even they admit, are NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN.

      I far prefer to live in the world of the likely,the possible or at least something that still has SOME CHANCE to happen

      . NO top club , which plays in a respected league, save only BARCA,if they can afford him, which must be in serious doubt, will be at all interested in this now old player, who is way, way past his best and over the hill, fading fast.

      Only sports washing countries leagues will show any interest and those leagues are Mickey Mouse level leagues

      REALITY!

      1. Jon, I don’t think anyone should employ the greedy bugger. He probably could play for absolutely nothing and still be at least a multimillionaire (possibly billionaire). Yet he still wants cash cash cash ! Do you know, I’ve never really enjoyed watching him play, don’t like his style (he scurries like a little mouse).

        1. EG My view on almost all player to whom personal greed is the most important factor in their thinking and in any ethics they may claim to have,is that I DISLIKE THAT CHARACTER TRAIT IN EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THEM.

          I believe their life priorities AND IMPORTANT LIFE VALUES are warped, self damaging and that their love and worship of OBSCENE amounts of personal wealth prevent such people ever becoming truly self worthy or ultimately, fullfilled.

          I have thought this way all my adult life , from well inside my teens.

          1. Jon – I can understand players wanting to earn as much as they possibly can in order to safeguard their families, but let’s face it, Messi is just greedy isn’t he.
            I know you said the other day that there should be a 10k per week wage limit and for the likes of certainly myself, that would have been more than enough. Johnny Haynes thought he was rolling in it when he was on £100 a week !
            These modern day salaries just aren’t enough for most of these players. I have given away lots of money to the few relatives I have because they needed it more than I, however not one of them appreciates what I did for them. Most people are greedy and often unappreciative. So therefore players are greedy as they are indeed people.

            1. EG, sadly, I realise I amin a tiny monority who say the following: All Prem level players have a personal choice as to how little they will be glad to receive as wages I have yet to hear of even one who deliberately takes less than he can possibly get, usually via his agent.

              Therefore, ALL players in that situation are being greedy and taking far more than they need to earn So greed is their personal choice! Greed is not only hanging out for such salaries as£300K pw but also those picking up “just” say £40 K pw.
              In the normal real world, even “£40k is widely considered a decent salary for a whole year.

              For a mere football player at the very LOWEST end of PREM salary levels, to be asking even”just” £ 40K PW, IS greed.

              How much worse greed then is what SAKA HAS JUST SIGNED FOR!!!.
              To those who say “well, that is the market rate.” I say, yes it is and that is WHY the market in transfers and wages is extremely sick and corrupt. For the already rich, to try to get far richer still, at the hands of ordinary paid fans, who happen to love their club ,is morally bankrupt and corrupt..

              THAT IS MY SINCERELY HELD VIEW AND I HAVE THOUGHT THAT WAY FOR DECADES PAST.

              1. Jon – What I can’t understand is that the starting topic was about Dan and his competition (which if I’m here next season I WILL WIN). But Twig and Kos started going on about Messi for some reason or the other and we saw Messi’s name which got us going off on a tangent. That in itself is making me laugh.
                Greed is in the nature of many human beings isn’t it. Your morals are intact, but I can’t blame players for trying to get as much as they can. I bet Saka’s parents are very happy and his extended family too ! It’s the nature of most human beings. You and I are not greedy, but I have accepted that most people are (and I’m not saying I’m better than anyone else by the way). I’ve emailed you so we can discuss these type of issues in private as and when.

                1. EG, If you think I will ever change my mind about this matter, I AM AFRAID YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED.

                  Greed is evil, wrong, immoral and is one of the seven deadly sins. I see no reason at all, not even the ones you make, to excuse greed. Rightly so too.

                  You ARE right to say that many people esp footballers , ARE greedy and that saddens me.

                  It has also made many previous fans of long ago, give up following the game completely, in despair at the gross wages paid for years past.

    We need a rule which stops Dan from removing players in the game because he has disagreement with them in another article. A cheap thing to do in my opinion and he has already done that twice.

    If he is allowed to do that won’t play any of his predictions games in the future. A very good game and I enjoyed it but it sucks to be removed halfway through because one didn’t kiss up to the creator.

      Ps- I know not my place to speak, but as a participant in the predictions league I agree with Dan. It was not a normal disagreement and the poster that got kicked out wrote that he doesnt wanna visit anything written by Dan which funnily enough also constitute the predictions league. Considering Dan does this out of goodwill and love for Arsenal, I certainly would not like it if someone disrespected him like that, while still reaping the fruits of enjoyment from his hardwork of tallying the scores and updating the league each matchweek.

Thank you all my gunners family, I don’t joke with anything about Asenal, Asenal is part of my life, I was at Chilton stadium watching my faithful Asenal with King Henry and our captain fantastic Patric Viera on the field years back when I was in UK, am in Nigeria now hopping to watch our star boy Saka and all the lads some day, Please my Gunners family always remember me in prayers for UK home office to grant me visa.
