Considering what they would make later for the duration of the contract, it’s not such a big deal
I remember many Arsenal fans on here and other platforms Doom mongering about how Arteta will be the Death of Arsenal.
How he will get us relegated. How he won’t be able to attract so called “Big players” because he is a mid to Championship level manager.
How his authoritarian personality will cause players to want to play under him.
How Arteta will bankrupt the club blah blah..
How he won’t be able to attract or manage big name players blah blah.

On this, there are clubs whose history have more weight than their current status or coach. Consider Man U, without champions league and at their worst yet players rejecting other clubs for them
I still don’t get it
We all know the heartbreak of Munich but for a brand as big as Utd to still be languishing baffles me
Villa and Forest are two examples of former greatness within the English game but neither have the draw that pulls in top talent year after year and Utd do
Let’s have him at least play in a PL game before we start giving him and the club credit for filing the gap left by Kiwior. Also, I am not prepared to assume completely altruistic motives regarding the monetary arrangements made by him and his agent. I’m glad he wanted to come to the Arsenal and hope he is a great player for years to come but let’s not go crazy here, at least not yet. Forgive me, I’m in a bad mood after watching another Chelsea get the rub of the green again so early in the season.
Was just about to say the same. These players are going to be given a much bigger salary when they come from Europe to PL. Also we don’t know if the waiving of fees is replaced by being given signing on fees
However it is key that these top players like Zubamendi Gyokeres Eze and Hincapie are all now choosing the Gunners where we perhaps struggled a few years back

Imagine any footballer with a brain wanting to join a club that hasn’t won anything for five years, could only finish second three seasons in a row and only got to the semi final of the CL and the Carabo cup and, in both instances, lost to the eventual winners!
Joining a club that has manager who hasn’t got a plan B, just passes sideways and backwards, doesn’t use his substitutes properly and defends his players to the hilt!
A manager who, some say, will have to leave if he doesn’t win PL or the CL – why on earth would they want to join a club like that?
Just watched the chelski game and it seems the PGMOL are leaning towards them for the title this season – BUT WAIT – it will even itself out over the 38 games we are told!!
Meanwhile, the referees and THE PGMOL continue to show they haven’t a clue how to use a system designed to help them!!

With Chris Kavanaugh as the referee, BB, lord alone knows, but keep an eye out for any player kicking the ball away!!
Today when I looked up who the ref was going to be the same thing occurred to me.
One of these days I’m going to figure out what the purpose is of sending the ref to the monitor when they almost never stick with the original call, not because it was necessarily wrong but for fear of having to disagree with a VAR colleague who has had their opinion put on record by sending the ref to the monitor.
Unless it’s something that is essentially automatic, such as an offside determination, the purpose of VAR should be to give the on field official a second chance to look at the play. The on field refs know they can never get all the calls or lack thereof correct the first time at full speed and would welcome the opportunity to verify the accuracy themselves as opposed to agreeing or disagreeing with what their VAR colleague is unnecessarily proposing.
