Do Arsenal fans agree with Thierry Henry (and me) on Alexis Sanchez?

I would love to think that Thierry Henry had read what I had to say on the matter the other day, but somehow I doubt it even though it was published on one of the big sports websites. But the former Arsenal and France international striker has been talking about the same issue, as reported by ESPN, and that is whether our current striker Alexis Sanchez has what it takes to emulate the impact that our club record goal scorer had for the Gunners.

The Just Arsenal take on this can be seen in full by following this link to the Daily Mail. And my own take on the matter, that Arsenal have finally found a player worthy of assuming the mantle of Thierry Henry has been repeated by the man himself. He was at the Emirates the other day with another former Gunner Robert Pires to see our Chilean superstar put on his latest masterclass against Stoke City.

Henry said, “Arsenal were looking for a player to deliver on a daily basis and they have found one. He is brilliant. He can read the game incredibly, as you saw with the goal on Sunday, and his work-rate is fantastic.

“He scores goals and doesn’t need a lot of opportunities to put the ball in the net. That is very important. He is a very, very good player and you know that if he is on tune, then Arsenal have a lot of chances to win the game.

“I am trying to think if there has been a better signing in the last five or six years. It is still early days but so far it is very good. He is doing extremely well. He is going to score goals but it is his all-round game that I am so impressed with. That has no price.

“Arsenal fans have been waiting to have a player like that. Finally they have one. He struggled at the beginning, like everybody, but when he got into a rhythm, you can see the quality. We should all be happy with him. He is going to be a great player for many years.”

The Man City boss Manuel Pellegrini has also claimed that our 26-year old forward is now the best player in the Premier League, something his own strike star Sergio Aguero might have something to say about, but it just highlights what a great debut season Alexis is having.

So Arsenal fans, do you agree with me, Henry and Pellegrini about Sanchez? And what do you think it is about the Chilean that makes him so special? Are there any Arsenal fans who are not quite as convinced? Is there a chance that his form will drop, which has happened to players coming to England before? Or have we got years of the awesome Alexis in front of us?
