Does Alexis have to leave Arsenal next month with tensions growing?

Reports are emerging to claim that Alexis Sanchez is becoming less and less popular in the Arsenal dressing room, with frustrations growing in regards to the star’s attitude and performances.

The Chilean international has been a huge talking point over the last couple of seasons due to his impressive performances and his lack of advancement over contract dealings also. The latter is increasingly talked about this term, with the forward closing in on the end of the his current deal, and he is now firmly expected to quit the club before next season.

Manchester City made a last-minute bid to bring him to the Etihad last summer, agreeing a fee with our club only for Arsenal to backtrack on their agreement after Thomas Lemar refused to come in from Monaco as his replacement.

Alexis still appears to be keen on the switch, which would see him return to work under former Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola, and is expected to run down his contract to join them on a free transfer next summer.

Since his failed move he has remained a key player in the first-team squad for our club, but his displays have been way below par, and his latest outing where he spurned possession a whopping 32 times against Southampton seems to have been the last straw for his counterparts.

A huge bust-up is rumoured to have followed his latest disappointing display, and the report claims that a number of his team members have called him out for having his attention aimed elsewhere while his team is trying to compete.

Does Alexis Sanchez need to be pushed to leave in January? Does his recent displays prove that we would not miss him as a player for the remainder of the campaign, while knowing he would also be less of a distraction for the rest of the team?
