Arsenal might lose the FA cup final you know by DN
Okay so Arsenal have already beaten our FA cup final opponents Aston Villa twice already this season and the aggregate score between the clubs is 8-0. And with the Gunners being the holders of the FA cup trophy as well, many Arsenal fans seem to think that all we have to do is to turn up and collect the silverware.
I hope they are right of course, but I just thought it might be worth injecting a little dash of realism, or pessimism if you wish.
Whereas Arsene Wenger and his players have proved this season that we are no longer like lambs to the slaughter in games against the big boys, beating Man City and Man United away and not suffering any heavy defeats, our record of being flat track bullies has not been up to the usual standard.
Do i Need to remind you what happened when we were drawn against unfancied Monaco in the Champions League knockout phase? Or that Swansea did the double over us and that the likes of Anderlecht, Sunderland, Leicester and Hull held us to a draw, while we needed extra time and a slice of luck to get past the Championship side Reading in the semi-final?
I am glad that Arsenal are a more balanced team now but it does mean that we are not steamrollering these smaller clubs anymore. We should still win Gooners, all I am saying is that we should not count our chickens.
