Dortmund to field Aubameyang – Will Arsenal deal be affected?

Arsenal have been in talks to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund over the past couple of weeks, but with the deal threatening to fall through, his current club are set to field him today.

The Gabon international has been in amazing form this term despite having fallen out with the BVB, scoring 21 goals in his 23 appearances in all competitions, and is claimed to be keen to give his all for his club this weekend despite the ongoing transfer saga.

“It comes down to what I’ve said in recent days,” Stoger told the club’s official website. “If Auba trained well all week, if he is clear and focused, then he is indispensable to our squad.

“Auba has had a very good, very focused and professional week of training behind him and has always given the impression he wants to give everything against Freiburg for BVB.

“Because that’s the case, we would like to use his quality, of course.”

We will all be awaiting the 14:30 (GMT) kick-off to see whether the BVB will in fact start Aubameyang, and should he play and pick up an injury, that would be the most Arsenal thing to happen in history.

We seem to be our own worst enemy in the transfer windows, and I don’t understand why we can’t simply pay those few extra million needed to to get the deal over the line, especially when it was only a matter of five months back when we were close to signing Thomas Lemar for £90 Million, over £30 Million more than the supposed asking price for PEA.

If he scores a hat-trick the deal could also come under question, with his host club possibly asking for more money, or even refusing to allow him to leave due to his importance.

Surely it would be best for all parties to wrap up the transfer with ample time, as we could end up losing out if Dortmund fail to sign a replacement in time, just like the Alexis Sanchez move in the summer.

Will the BVB start PEA? Could talk of the striker playing be a bargaining chip?

  1. gosh it seems like paying a few millions is like paying a few dollars to many….

    50m here and 200m there no problem…..

use the cheat code, restart and 300m appears in the bank

  2. It would be typical Arsenal to drop the ball on this transfer. If they wait until the summer some other club will come in a snatch him.

  3. According to @kev a.k.a @RememberResource? a.k.a @Resource, Aubameyang would come on Monday at the latest. So no need to create another worrying article, because @kev is the man.

    1. @kev personally signed Lemar and mbappe for Arsenal during the last transfer window. He has now signed Auba for Arsenal but will allow him play one last game for dortmund today!

    2. That guy is bang annoying…
Kev you don’t want me to start listing all your “Done deals” that went down the wire do you???
Just quit it bro, we don’t need Any news from you.
If on Monday Aubameyang is here then thumbs up to you.
if not just crawl back to your hole and never come out with insiders info

    3. Both resource and kev have already been caught out as complete fakes both called numerous done deals from there sources and none has gone through so take what these 2 clowns say with a pinch of salt!!!

      1. Resource is masquerading under the pseudonym “Kev”. It’s the same guy pulling transfers out of his arse and posting them here for whatever gratification he gets fooling people. I think he might be disturbed.

  4. I bet it is already too late to strike a deal. If BVB needs a replacement before selling Auba and since there is no rumors that they had already lined up one, I don’t see how it can go through with only 4 days left in the transfer window. It looks like Wenger will have it his way again! Too bad

  5. Will Arsenal deal be affected? No, because he is NOT coming anyway and never was!

All a BIG smoke screen to cover over the equally BIG cracks!

Arsenal F.C are on “cut-back” mode NOT “Invest” mode!!

    Wake up!!!!!

    1. Totally agree. It’s another Lemar situation. Blinkered into going after someone they’re unlikely to get until it’s too late to look elsewhere. You could see this coming a mile off! Arsenal try to penny pinch and it rubs these teams up the wrong way. Look at the Suarez thing. 40 mil and a quid. They were never going to sell to us after that.

  6. Wenger is Arsenal’s own Mephistopholes. He is Arsenal’s autocratic control freak, bit by bit sinking the club by position and reputation. In some bizarre psychological act of ignorance/vengeance, whilst the supporters stand hypnotically entranced by his untruths, he manages to avoid keeping the club at the same level as Utd, City, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Spurs. Mediocrity has become Arsenal’s normal. £30,000,000 profit from the sale of Walcott and Coquelin is the goal.

    1. Thanks for the Mephistopheles insight and you are right that mediocrity has become Arsenal’s normal. But we cannot blame Wenger alone, as there are other powerful people running the most cunning football club in the world.

  7. Jesus I thought we ended the summer transfer window with a profit….plus the money from all our sold players!
There should be plenty in the bank, so stop being tight & spend It! Aubameyang please!!

    1. Arsenal have no intention of paying anywhere near 60 million. Highest they will go is 48 million pounds with 4 million in add ons and if that is not accepted the deal is off due to age of PEA. Typical arsenal in transfer market either there way or no way. Just keep raking in fees and supporters money.

      1. Makes you wonder why Ivan & co went over there in the first place! Cheap skates!!
If someone else comes in last minute & signs him, I’ll be so pissed off

  8. Mystic meg more accurate than that kev …….he said lemar 100% done deal last summer and plenty other predicted no shows …..truth is arsenal play a poker hand and when selling team don’t budge throw everything at them on last day when it’s all too late and end up with f$$$ all but a bank account full of money

  9. The so called negotiating team have been in Dortmund for the past week, penny pinching along the way. Led by Ivan (what is it you do) Grazidis no wonder we have succeeded in peeving Dortmund off…If we had lost to Chelsea we would have signed PEA by now! Personally I don’t see us adding anyone to our squad because that’s the Arsene way.

  10. Dortmund would look totally
stupid if they play him and
    he gets injured and they
lose 50 mill for a want away 29 year old.
He won’t play he is worth too much to risk.
Arsenal negotiators can wait as long as they want.
Record signing Lacazette, Giroud and Wellbeck
are still available and Perez is on loan.
Arsenal could spend the Auba money on
    Winger 15m
    DM 15m
    CB Evans 15m and Debuchy.
45m for CB DM Winger is good going.

    1. Unfortunately with the current market climate £15M gets you championship quality players. If Welbeck (no disrespect intended to him) was 16M and he came years ago..imagine a quality player now…

    2. Barry, You must shop in Poundland to quote these low prices from yesteryear. Where have you been hiding away while the transferfees have grown so fast?

      1. Lol.
Its about spotting talent early Jon.
        Ali cost Spurs 7m.
        Elneny cost 7m.
        Bellerin -academy.
        Niles-academy.
        Rasford -academy.

  11. I have a number of concerns over this window Auba is decent quality but why spend 55m on a 29-year-old and then another 20 m on Evans.

I think its a BS again similar to Lemar who we wanted for 90 m hahaha and guess what he’s available now and we have not gone back in for him

I wonder if the club is stringing the fans along again with the ‘we tried’ BS that some of you lap up

  12. Have to sew up this deal by monday or don’t think it will happen at all! If we miss out on PEA that’s it he won’t be coming in the summer neither! He’ll go elsewhere so in that regard this is our chance to snap up a world class player which isn’t gonna happen too often not if we’re in Europa league again next season which looks highly likely because the squad we have now is not good enough to make top 4 we can’t defend so we have to outscore most teams and I doubt we can win Europa league not with Napoli, Atletico Madrid, Zenit etc and dare I say Dortmund.. knowing our luck PEA will put us out oh the irony! From the managers comments he isn’t too bothered whether he comes or not Wenger says he’s completely happy with his squad! It’s absolutely outrageous how he can sit there with a straight face and say his squad is good enough when Man City are MILES better than us are strengthening they’re squad but somehow Arsene feels his squad doesn’t need additions.. logic please? So in Wenger’s world while everyone strengthens they’re team we don’t need to but we’ll get better? I’ve just had about enough of listening to this man’s dribble.. if we don’t do business in this window everyone should know including Wenger’s fan club that him and this club are taking us for first class mugs.. all we seem to do is make profit and it’s never reinvested back into the team then come another transfer window we’re told we must sell before we can buy so if that’s true where the hell is the money we recouped going ? Highest ticket prices in world football a mass of merchandise sold all over the world, TV deals, players sold and sponsorship’s but we can’t afford to be ambitious in today’s transfer market ? That is just absolute nonsense and if anyone believes that they must have a very low IQ! They are teams that have come up from the championship that are spending more than us and that is a new low it’s an absolute disgrace.. why were we told we moved to the Emirates to compete with the big boys now getting told we can’t compete? Everton are spending more than we are is Everton wealthier than Arsenal? No they bloody aren’t! The money people at Arsenal are draining the club ripping off fans and telling lie after lie contradicting themselves in the process and they get away with it year after year.. it’s about high time we fans put pressure on the club, ask the questions why aren’t we competitive in the transfer market where is our money going to, players are being sold and not replaced.. why do we take longer than any other club to get deals done ? Ivan Gazidis can make people think silver is worth more than gold he’s an excellent speech artist he could be a politician he should be a politician he talks that much BS he’s a compulsive liar and we fall for it every year he’s probably already pre rehearsing his AGM speech whiles hes sightseeing in Dortmund but there’s only so much c*ap you can talk before people start to wake up. As a fan I honestly hope I’m wrong this time but not holding my breath we have Stan Kroenke as an owner, Gazidis as the CEO and Arsene Wenger as a manager that alone should turn optimism to pessimism

    1. “As a fan I honestly hope I’m wrong this time”
You’ll never be wrong Mr. Wick, Auba deal is a mere smoke screen.

    2. John Wick, a fellow realist and not afraid, like me, to spell out the truth loud and clear. Well said John. If I ever meet you personally, I will buy you so many drinks so we can drown our sorrows at how this corruptly run club continues to betray all us true fans. Lies after lies after lies, day long ,year long, from morrally low class people mis-running our club.

      1. If only there was more like us Jon then maybe we wouldn’t be in the mess we are today, unfortunately there’s still fans that just can’t contemplate change they would rather turn on their fellow supporter than open their eyes! Corruptly is exactly how it’s run I’m just glad other people can see it. Thanks mate we’ll need a truck load to drink then ?

  13. It’s all smoke and mirrors, and because it happens so often, either we truly are seeking the best deal fee wise or it’s all hype designed to keep us all on the edges of our seats (which it does very well!).

I’m erring towards us just being a bit tight fisted and determined not to pay more than we think someone is worth. However, the market always sets the price….NOT US!

    1. I just hope it’s sooner rather than later IB I don’t think some people realise the sorry state of affairs we’re actually in. Us fans are making Stan Kroenke and his henchmen richer while we become a laughing stock!

    1. Auba just played all 90 minutes in a home match they’ve lost 1-2. I guess Sven and co can board the next plane back from Germany. That jamboree trip is over.
