Draxler confirms talks with two clubs. Arsenal?

Wolfsburg winger Julian Draxler has confirmed he talking to two clubs about a potential January transfer, but are Arsenal one of them?

The Gunners have been linked with the German international for some time now, with Arsene Wenger believed to have made him a long-term target, and he looks near-certain to leave his current club next month.

Draxler has confirmed more than once that he is eager to leave the club as he is not happy, and the Wolfsburg fans have now turned on him, which seems to have put the final nail in the coffin of his time with the Bundesliga side.

The player has been strongly linked with a move to French champions Paris Saint-Germain, with some sources claiming that a deal was all but done, but English reports are claiming that Liverpool have made an attempt to lure him to the Premier league instead.

The player himself has now admitted that he is in fact in talks with two potential suitors over a potential winter move, but failed to name the clubs involved.

We of course know the papers are mostly guessing what is going on, and Arsenal have been linked with Draxler since before he was a first-team regular with Schalke or Germany.

His arrival could see Alexis permanently given his role at centre-forward, with Walcott, Ozil and Draxler an exciting prospect to be having playing off of the Chilean.

The Wolfsburg wantaway star can also play centrally should Ozil miss out with injury or suspension, or could even be seen as a potential replacement should he refuse to sign a new contract.

Both Alexis and Mesut have so far failed to agree terms on an extension, despite having opened talks during the previous campaign, and question marks are very much surrounding their respective futures.

Could Draxler’s arrival persuade the duo to stay at the club? Or would his signature be to replace one of our key men?

  1. This is a heavy test for Arsene whether he’s really want Draxler or not. The kid was tagged 50M last summer. With his want away attitude and fans reaction, Wolfsburg will push to sell under their price. Draxler worth at less 25-30M pounds now. Will Arsenal splash the cash that much in the middle of the season? PSG surely has no probem with that.

  2. with welbeck potential return we won’t be buying draxler. don’t forget that we have such a huge depth that even Perez hasn’t started a single PL game so far.

    1. If you talk about ambition, Draxler will be a good buy, if you aim for the 4th trophy then Welbeck and Perez are the best options

        1. You can see when he’s around good players, Germany, that he holds his own in terms of interacting and ball control. Our widemen don’t create enough chances for Alexis Ozl or each other. I believe he’d improve with us, but what the stats probably suggest is that he’s not a match winner like Alexis or Coutinho, but that’s fine because not every player needs to be one, they just need to help the one’s who are.

          1. what we need on the LW is another matchwinner to support Alexis not another young promising player to add to Iwobi n Ox.
and for the price he ll command we need a Matchwinner

  3. he is overrated.. had just 5goals last season n 24 goals since 2011 -his entire career.
    he is hardly an upgrade

  4. We know we like this player, we also know that he sees us as a top destination. Not to mention we have a good German contingent, we have money, and we have big players running down contracts. This looks like it should get done.

  5. Funny do you know who’s our manager not in your life time. We got a player just got a hat trick in CL but wasn’t used often for don’t know what reason why he wanna spend money to buy another player.

Wenger only need 11 players who he trust, I mean he trust not we. He will play them all the way unless injured.
