Draxler confirms talks with two clubs. Arsenal?

Wolfsburg winger Julian Draxler has confirmed he talking to two clubs about a potential January transfer, but are Arsenal one of them?

The Gunners have been linked with the German international for some time now, with Arsene Wenger believed to have made him a long-term target, and he looks near-certain to leave his current club next month.

Draxler has confirmed more than once that he is eager to leave the club as he is not happy, and the Wolfsburg fans have now turned on him, which seems to have put the final nail in the coffin of his time with the Bundesliga side.

The player has been strongly linked with a move to French champions Paris Saint-Germain, with some sources claiming that a deal was all but done, but English reports are claiming that Liverpool have made an attempt to lure him to the Premier league instead.

The player himself has now admitted that he is in fact in talks with two potential suitors over a potential winter move, but failed to name the clubs involved.

We of course know the papers are mostly guessing what is going on, and Arsenal have been linked with Draxler since before he was a first-team regular with Schalke or Germany.

His arrival could see Alexis permanently given his role at centre-forward, with Walcott, Ozil and Draxler an exciting prospect to be having playing off of the Chilean.

The Wolfsburg wantaway star can also play centrally should Ozil miss out with injury or suspension, or could even be seen as a potential replacement should he refuse to sign a new contract.

Both Alexis and Mesut have so far failed to agree terms on an extension, despite having opened talks during the previous campaign, and question marks are very much surrounding their respective futures.

Could Draxler’s arrival persuade the duo to stay at the club? Or would his signature be to replace one of our key men?
