Emery’s Arsenal line-up confirmed for BATE challenge

Arsenal’s team has been announced for tonight´s Europa League encounter with BATE Borisov, with a strong team set out to overturn last week’s deficit.

The Gunners lost the away leg 1-0, and will have to win tonight’s match by two clear goals, or we may well find ourselves eliminated on away goals, which would be devastating.

Our current league form has seen us rise up to fifth in the Premier League table, but Manchester United are the clear favourites to complete that fourth spot in the table, meaning our best bet at Champions League football for next season may well be through the EL.

Unai Emery has given his line-up today the strength that it deserves, with a more no inexperienced players given the nod for the first time in the competition this season.

Petr Cech continues his role in the competition, but the likes of Chris Willock, Nketiah, Sala and Maitland-Niles all miss out. Mesut Ozil also finds himself back into the team, although in the absence of Alexandre Lacazette.

This team should have more than enough in the locker to come away with a convincing win at the Emirates tonight, and we should be cemented in the draw for the next stage. The only worry is that if Aubameyang was to have an off-day today, there is little in the rest of the team to give me confidence of scoring goals.

Does this line-up put too much responsibility on the goalscorer? Will this be a routine reversal?

  1. Lol..Why is he starting Ozil?? I thought he has a gameplan which Ozil can’t adapt to?
Plus I saw this coming after his whole comment on Ozil yesterday.
Well he’s hoping to go for the win, the only worry on paper right now is Lichtensteiner starting at the back.
I’m not expecting an easy win, Bate won the first leg, they have all the advantage and they have everything to lose so I expect them to attack us that’s why that RB is a worry for me

    1. He’s just looking for company if shit hits the fan. Why on Earth did we sign Suarez guess he knows best.

    2. Omg. Hahahaha ?
You some people, do you even have a life outside of posturing about Ozil?
It seems your like livelyhoods revolve around Ozil. You seem to be too emotionally invested into Ozil. Lol

      Just enjoy his outing.

      1. Nope, we’re emotionally invested in our beloved club who we want to see play beautiful and win beautiful…
You shouldn’t be surprise not all of us are interested in your Anti-Ozil BS??

      2. Really hope Ozil takes this chance with both hands against “tractor builders” as his fans say. Cause if he’s ineffective against even the tractor boys and fails I really don’t see how we can defend him going forward or even demand he be in the line. Bate “championship” material right?? Let’s see how he does against such low class opposition then

  2. positive line up…. optimistic for a great result…. continue like this and we are on the path to glory…. enough of negative football…. Emery in on this one…..???3-0 to the arsenal…..

  3. My personal preference aside. I want a win and good performance from the whole team. I wish Us a fantastic win.

  4. Looks like a great line-up
    We will win
We will master Bate all across the field from defence to attack

    3-0

  5. Finally Finally 4 at back positive lineup…
Great to See Ozil back in it… Ozil should be given free hand in creative department…. Only worry is RB… Why he is so reluctant to play Jenkinson… At least he is young which is enough to play against Bate

  6. If this lot struggle against the mighty BATE at the Emirates then most of them should be up for sale in the summer.

  7. As I predicted, this is supposed to be easy and no need to be cautious of the opponent’s quick counter-attacks, hence 4-2-3-1 is used

To Ozil’s fans, I told you Ozil would most likely play because this game is suitable for him

Emery only selects the best players that fit into his strategy that can be different in each game, so do not blame Emery if he has to bench Ozil in away games or Lacazette in home games

    1. So the team Emery started last week wasn’t good enough. So now Ozil should prove himself to Emery bro I would hop off after 5 minutes.

    2. “To Ozil’s fans, I told you Ozil would most likely play because this game is suitable for him”
That has to be the most stupidest comment I’ve seen on here lately.
So last week when he side play, Bate was a strong and tough opponent?
One week later Bate is suitable for him? You will never admit we miss the creativity he beings to this team..
On this site, you will never see it all I swear

  8. Glad to see Ozil back in the lineup and the formation looks ok, now we just need to do the job so we can be happy.

  9. Scared that lichsteiner is playing but glad to see ozil back hope he plays a blinder.
Got to say seeing his number on his back I think The jokers in the side missed a trick, would have been neat to paint a white 1 after the 10 to commenerate the number of ‘not available’ games he’s missed.
    Coyg!

  10. you can already see what we have been missing without ozil….his creativity is what we have been lacking and lack of attack means the other team can attack more which has lead to us conceding goals and not scoring

  11. Bate is again frustrating Arsenal with their defensive resilience… Same as 1st half… Hope they won’t snatch the goal…

  12. Okay first half. Still need another goal to advance, because we all know there’s no way in hell Arsenal can keep a clean sheet in any competition. In terms of our general play, it’s only marginally better than the away leg. Still a lot of frustration in creating clear chances, and in taking them. Hopefully we can manage to get ourselves out of this mess. Great header from Mustafi though, showing our strikers how its done.

  13. I am only worried about two players in this match – Litch and Cech. But so far so good. I hope they stay on their toes till the end.

  14. Only just got home how’s ozil playing ?
Admin have you removed my comments on this post from earlier ?
    And can’t seem to
    Post with my other name

  15. Clean sheet!
Xhaka doesn’t tolerate any nonsense against his teammate.
Suarez is beginning to adhere and cohere.
    Good win.
