Even if Arsenal win the title the media will still be negative

There is one huge issue with Arsenal being a success for the media, it does not pay and no matter how well Unai Emery does this season there will be negativity, I guarantee it.

I can offer no proof of this right now, it is purely an opinion but I would wager serious money that I am right.

Arsenal are one of the most popular teams on the planet, a friend of mine once wrote for a generic football site that will remain unnamed, they covered all the teams in the Premier League but strict instructions were handed down that the team that must have the most articles written about them is Arsenal, because they gain the most traffic.

But good news does not work for too long, it does not generate enough traffic, you just have to look at the figures on AFTV videos, their biggest traffic comes from rants and pure negativity. That is not criticising AFTV at all, just a fact.

Misleading headlines, clickbait, transfer gossip, it all plays a part but they have a limited lifespan for a variety of reasons, fans turn away from clickbait eventually, I never read Football London any more, as an example, and transfer gossip only works for a few months in the year.

So what is left to generate clicks?

Quality opinionated articles work, that is what we aim for on here, we do not always get it right but we try, we also try to limit how many articles we do per day and rarely do we get into double figures but there are a ton of sites that do and they have to dig up articles somehow.

The point I am making is simple.Arguments in the dressing room, players wanting transfers, manager not a fan of a player, player wants a huge wage increase and so on will become more and more prevalent the better Arsenal do. Of course, if Arsenal slip up then for the media that is gold dust, they can squeeze the life out of that all day long, but when Arsenal win, just watch for the fabricated, long-winded, at a stretch negative articles that all of a sudden pop up.

Arsenal negativity pays for the media, it is as simple as that.
