Everton v Arsenal Preview, Team News, Line-up and Score Prediction

It is quite simple, if Arsenal loses against Everton today we remain fourth, we win or draw and we jump above Tottenham and back into third.

There does seem to be some nervousness about this game among the Gooner faithful and to some extent that is justified but not because it is Everton we are playing but because it is so tight for a top-four finish and one slip up and significant consequences could follow.

But I am not sure we should be all that nervous, yes, Everton has won their last two games 2-0 against West Ham and Chelsea but some perspective is required.

Anyone watching the first half of the Chelsea game would have seen an Everton performance that has been a regular feature this season, they were overrun, how they did not concede I do not know, Chelsea dominated them and that is a huge indicator of how we should approach this game today.

Everton was better in the second half of course, but that had far more to do with Chelsea than their opponents and I do not see us falling into that trap today.

I have no doubt Unai Emery has watched the videos, he knows what he has to do, and I am positive he will instruct the players exactly how to start the game off, and that is right at Everton.

We have the talent to dominate this game from the start and Everton will have their backs to the wall, that will quieten down the fans immediately and unlike Chelsea, we have a forward line that knows how to score.

Our defence is improving, recent results have shown that, we do have an issue on the road and if there was ever a time to keep a clean sheet it is today, however, even if we do concede, our midfield and forwards have more than enough about them to overcome that.

Everton have some dangerous players, Digne, Gueye, Gomes, Sigurdsson, Bernard and Richarlison are more than capable of causing us problems but they are not Hazard, Pogba, Kane, de Bruyne, Sane etc and our defence and to some extent midfield, have the quality to counter the danger those players pose.

For me, we have to attack from word go, control the midfield and be composed at the back, do that and we will win and I am absolutely confident that is exactly what we will do.

This is my predicted Line up ….

Leno
Koscielny
Sokratis
Mustafi
Kolasinac
Maitland-Niles
Guendouzi
Xhaka
Ramsey
Ozil
Aubameyang

And this is my correct Score Prediction, in case you didn’t already know!

Everton 1-2 Arsenal

  1. Cmon fellas, enough of d uncertainty or sm few negative vibes surrounding today’s game, I for one, I’m very confident we r going to dominate n beat Everton today, no matter d threat they pose, we have far more greater fire power to breeze past them. My line up is

    Leno
    Socratis kos Monreal
    AMN. Xhaka Ramsey Kolasinac
    Ozil
    Auba. Lack

A nidfireld trio of Xhaka, Ramsey n Ozil is enough 2 control n dominate d midfield n trust kola 2 deliver some good crosses n cutbacks, Auba n Laca 2 produce d goal. Today is our day, n 3rd place is ours foslr the taking.

    1. Xhaka and Ramsey combo have not dominated opponents midfield all season .. Though if both are fit I expect that’s what will emerge .. Everton are an average team so I would like to see a much more Arsenal tack minded formation but don’t think it will happen … Just hope the massively underperforming Iwobi and mustafi dont figure in starting 11 if they do with xhaka starting as well its up for grabs

  2. Sokratis is one booking away from a two match ban but if him being booked helps us keep our first away clean sheet this season, I’ll accept that.
