Everton’s Benteke bid proof Arsenal won’t sell Giroud?

Even though Arsene Wenger and then the player himself have been saying that Olivier Giroud and Arsenal are not going to be parting company, at least not during the current summer transfer window, there has been no shortage of stories linking the France international star with a number of clubs in the English Premier League and in his native country.

Even this week I have seen articles saying that Giroud could be sold by Arsenal once we manage to bring in more new players to boost the Arsenal attack, but perhaps the most telling piece of information on the big striker’s situation comes with the Sky Sports report about the Toffees targeting the transfer of Christian Benteke from Crystal Palace.

I very much doubt that Ronald Koeman is looking to add two big powerful centre forwards to the Everton squad but he is clearly looking for one to replace the Manchester United bound Belgian international Romelu Lukaku. Everton wanted the French Gunner to be that man so now they have switched focus away from him tells me that Wenger has made it clear he will not sell.

But does that go for any club or only our EPL rivals?

  1. I’ll like him to stay.. Though, world cup might be hindered if he’s not used well but he should surely grab all opportunities on the pitch when brought in.
Good luck to the whole team

  2. They haven’t made a bid for Benteke, they’ve been linked with him by the media in the same way Giroud was, so I don’t see the difference?

  3. Giroud will rather prefer going to a French club side than Westham united. I don’t see that happening.
