Forget Alexis and Ozil rumours as Arsenal wont sell

The rumour mill never ceases to amaze us with how quickly stories get churned up, but the newspapers love to speculate about Arsenal’s transfer business, and are rarely right.

The papers have been quick to claim that both of our biggest stars have turned down the advances of our club to tie them down to new deals, although Ozil has only recently returned from holiday, so you can disregard such accusations for a while.

Alexis Sanchez is now claimed to be the subject of interest from Inter Milan, who are keen to bring him to Italy. If the Chilean was frustrated with things at the Emirates, why exactly would he join a team who missed out on the title by a huge 24 points, and only has Europa League football for the coming campaign?

The report itself claims they would need to make him the highest paid player in Italy, which in itself just blows the speculation away given their recent financial trouble.

Team-mate Mesut Ozil is now claimed to be a target for German giants Bayern Munich this summer, and less than a week ago was said to be in favour of a return to Real Madrid.

The playmaker has reiterated on a number of occasions that he is happy in North-London, and should be looking to build on our second in the league from last season.

As far as I’m concerned, neither player will be leaving the club unless we are ready to sell someone, and already have a replacement lined up, and we are in no shape or form ready to sell either.

Once a new striker is added to our star-studded squad, all will be well within the squad, and we can get focused on doing what we do best, playing football.

Do any of you actually think we would sell our stars?

  1. The media will do anything to break Arsenal and its fans spirit because we always leave ourself so vulnerable to it. Let’s look forward to the season and be the best fans that we can. This isn’t the RVP, Nasri or Fabregas times. Wenger has made so crazy decisions in the past but he isn’t that stupid to let Özil or Alexis go at this stage without adding to them. Or else the Emirates would literally be on fire. Lol

  2. Well Wenger let RVP, Nasri, Toure, Sagna go to our rivals either by direct sale or not getting them to renew their contract

I hope those days are gone but if we don’t win trophies this season Alexis, Ozil, Bellerin, Monreal could push hard for an exit

If Wenger gets a Top striker and CB, its possible to avoid that

I don’t believe Alexis and Ozil are greedy like Nasri or Cashley. I think they are stand up guys but they want to win trophies and want to see top players coming in

  3. What? ? No Xhaka in the starting line up! ?

    Cech
    Bellerin
    Chambers
    Holding
    Monreal
    Coquelin
    Elneny
    Ramsey
    iwobi
    Sanchez
    Walcott

  4. Match day is here.. Unlike the others I am slightly optimistic about today’s game.. Yes we are defensively short but what people fail to realise is that Liverpool’s defence is not that great either.
Never rated Lovren and he will be partnering either Matip/Klavan in centre defence, both of whom are new to the league. The game could go either way but I think we will come out on top. Liverpool are playing away so they will play on the counter and press us throughout the 90 mins. The key will be to make the most of the opportunites that come our way. Also hoping we get to see our latest Korean arrival Co He Sion. Wenger has been talking about this cohesion a lot these last 2 seasons. Time to make it count.

O.T. Lacazette has scored twice in the first half for Lyon in Ligue 1. If Wenger wanted him he would be here already. COYG !!

  5. We will sell them 100% sure if they don’t renew. This money hungry owner would not be so dumb to let them leave for free after running down their contracts and ruining the atmosphere in the dressing room.

Perhaps the real problem is what Henry mentioned, perhaps we simply can not attract the good players anymore.
