Former Blue claims Arsenal and Chelsea target ‘going to the very top’

Chris Sutton has hailed Odsonne Edouard as the next big thing to come out of Celtic, claiming he will go to the ‘very top’.

The Frenchman has been in outstanding form this season, scoring an impressive 27 goals in all competitions, whilst adding 19 assists also, and is being earmarked for a move in the coming window.

Chelsea, Arsenal and Newcastle have all been linked with a move for the exciting striker, with the latter expected to confirm new owners in the coming days, which will see them jump to the top of the list of clubs with rich owners.

This deal could well see them jump to the top of the list of potential suitors for Edouard this summer, with question marks over our transfer budget following the loss of income due to the Coronavirus.

Our move for Edouard however could stem on the back of a deal to sell one of either Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang or Alexandre Lacazette, who are both linked with potential moves at present. The pair have one and two years remaining on their respective contracts at present.

Chris Sutton certainly thinks that Celtic’s Edouard would be able to fill the void left by either departure, by claiming that he ‘can do everything’.

“French striker is going to the very top just like van Dijk and he’s been sensational,” Sutton claimed.

“The striker can do everything. He links the game, he makes runs, he creates and he is a quality finisher.

“Edouard really assumed the mantle of responsibility as Lennon chased the nine last season and delivered in emphatic style for his boss and team.”

If Arsenal sell one of Lacazette or Aubameyang, should Edouard be a priority signing? Would he be an upgrade on Laca?

  1. There is a lot of hype surrounding this fella right now… he’d be worth a shot… considering someone mentioned Chris Wood (yikes!) as a replacement, I’d much rather take a chance on this fella!

  2. Irrespective of this player, I now want LACA to leave and think he will before next season starts, whenever that may be. I strongly thinj our srating elevem will be very different from theones starting this season. Most of allthough, I want ALL the non committed players and half hearted types gone for good. I am certain Arteta is actively trying to arrange this , though it must and SHOULD be remembered, that in this crisis it is a far more difficult process than this time a year ago.

  3. Auba is leaving, has many options. Captain responsibility’s trick to have him feeling obliged to commit for fans and team, did not work.

Why would he stay in Kroenke sinking boat? He was wrong to stay but tried.
Wish him to land at Real, Benzema behind him, he will win titles he deserves.

Not be in a mid table team no ambition became in 18months time; it’s like playing for Southampton or Palace.

Then, it is not either Laca or Auba; both are leaving beyond this balloon BS, not first time, he still had clubs after him…Teams fighting for titles as Athletico, with ambition.

injuries & mess in team’s management slowed him down but he is a top player, Barca were on him just last year. Let’s stop devaluate our players when we know how good they are when they can play free and motivated!

Some want him out for months now, as if he can lose his football so fast. But he is leaving because he has ambition and joined Arsenal for that as Auba and any players then!

If they want out of this mess, means Arsenal is the PB, not them!

You really think any top players will join a midtable? Not even in payement plan trick!

Reality, Kroenke’s plan today is to sell every players with value, pocket that money and sell club asap!

Team doesn’t make Club’s value; history, stadium, academy and fans buying tickets and shirts do.
