I don’t think he should be talking about pay cuts and making it sound like he has done a wonderful thing.

Jesus didn’t get injured on purpose, or sit on the bench on purpose. Like all pro players, he wants to play! He was an important signing for us and I for one am grateful he came and helped us when he did. I remember when we signed him how excited we all were to get a top shelf forward in. Not his fault the way things panned out, and he definitely wasn’t sitting around laughing at the club because he had pulled one over on us.

I wouldn’t read too much into him saying he took a pay cut. From the context it looked as if he was asked that question and he gave an answer.

One can understand the irritation when certain footballers say they take a pay cut. At the level he will still be earning, the cut he has taken will have no material effect on his lifestyle.
