What a summer transfer window this has been. Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi and Christian Nørgaard are part of the Asia pre-season tour. Noni Madueke has also signed for Arsenal but has not joined the Arsenal team in Singapore, as a period of rest is required after his participation in the Club World Cup with Chelsea. Young Spanish defender Cristhian Mosquera has now officially been unveiled as a Gunner too.
With Viktor Gyökeres next in line, he is expected to complete his Arsenal switch this Friday following medicals and the signing of the contract. The Gunners then hope to complete Mikel Arteta’s puzzle with Eberechi Eze.
Eze confident of Arsenal move
Eze to Arsenal is as alive as it has ever been, according to transfer reporter Graeme Bailey, who states:
“I am told that Eze remains firmly on Arsenal’s radar and they have done plenty of work on him – there is a very good chance that Eze will be an Arsenal player before the end of August.
Arsenal have maintained contact with Eze’s people throughout the summer.”
It is also claimed that Eze has told close friends he is set to join Arsenal this summer.
So where are we with the Eze swoop?
TEAMtalk reports Arsenal are ready to pay £55 million for the Crystal Palace midfield maverick. While that bid appears reasonable, Palace are reportedly unwilling to budge from their £68 million asking price.
Nonetheless, with the player keen on the move, it would be a dream come true. There is hope that a compromise can be found. Sources around the Emirates Stadium suggest a four-year contract is already prepared for Eze, who is known to be eager to make the switch.
Why Arsenal want Eze this summer
Seen as an “X-factor” and the antidote to low blocks that plagued Arsenal last season, Eze is viewed as the final flourish to their 2025 summer transfer activity – the icing on the cake.
He could be the secret weapon that gets Arsenal over the line next season.

That would be a perfect summer window, bar none. I do not remember a transfer window that turns out to be more fruitful than this window ever since the Wenger age. Even now, I am already very content with what we have achieved with the new bloods joining us. Next is the outgoings, hope Berta can get some good prices for us. With Jesus, Zinchenko, Vieira, Nelson, Lokonga, and Hein, maybe we can recoup about 100 Million?
You can knock Jesus off the list which leaves you with the other 5

Vieria -10 million if we are lucky ,likely a loan and moves for free .
Nelson -same as above ,Fulham loan ,leaves for 10 million if we are lucky

Would be lucky to get 25-35 million IMO
You have to remember how bad of a club we’ve become under Arteta on the selling side of things

Recouping some money for Madueke with the outgoings. will be decent, I just hope Eze can join us to really perfect our team.

👍 Benjamin. I have to admit that the sentimental part of me would want Berta to go get him because of that devastated 13 y/o boy and what it would mean to him to be welcomed back now 14 years later. The football mastermind part of me 🤦♂️🤣 would want Berta to get him entirely because of his potential benefit to us on the pitch.

would be a really perfect window if we sell Havertz for say, more than half we paid for him. Merino proved he is as good a back up CF as Havertz, at 2/3 his salary.
Arsenal hope they can get that much too, but it seems unlikely.
One of the issues with getting incomings done early is every team in football knows Arsenal have a half-dozen players that will never set boots on grass. It is hard to get full return for value in that environment.
Jesus has been plagues with injury, and Nelson is coming off injury as well. Hein has been okay in his loan spells. Lokonga has been squad p;layer quality everywhere he’s gone on loan, Zinchenko has some real value, which Arsenal have preserved by giving him cameos here and there. Vieira had a good loan back at Porto, so he might also bring a decent fee.

May take a time for all these new players to gel into a team. Don’t be too keen to get rid of Zinchenko he’s a very decent footballer just not a great defender. Overall quality of this squad is very good now with fabulous youngsters coming through.
How does Eze beat the low block? You beat low block maintaining Width and Switching Play – Eze is not a touchline hugging wide player. If Eze plays 8 in place of Rice, does he have the defensive skills to help out the number 6 and defence? Eze doesn’t naturally contribute heavily out of possession, his pressing intensity and tactical discipline are inconsistent. Filling in for Ode at 10, we will instantly feel a drop off from aggressive passing – aggressive passing is something you need to beat a low block – but if you watch Eze his passing is very passive.
Eze is not a natural fit for this Arsenal system, neither a natural wide player to take Trossard or fast Gabi place in squad, nor off ball presser, doesn’t have much defensive side to his game, and, thinking of Merino’s 2 assists away at Real, Eze cannot do effective passing as well as Merino has proved, Eze has never been a strong attacking passer like that in his career.
I’m struggling to see what the rest of you are seeing that makes this such a desirable transfer.

I think what we need to do to break to low blocks like the one Milan used, is a very good an intelligent left wing; we should keep Madueke on the right to alternate with Saka and get a better option than Martinelli.

All this talk of low blocks. It makes me laugh, because it’s not like we haven’t come up against it before.
For me the way to make the team that’s defending in a low block, life more difficult is to play quick one and two tough football. And have midfielders making late runs into the box. All this slow playing in front of the low block isn’t going to work.
Any well organized team will just stay in position, because they know they won’t be hurt with you playing in front of them.
High tempo is what’s needed.
That’s two ways of beating low blocks. Another is dribbling.
What are you not seeing? Eze is obviously one of the best dribblers – one of the most technically gifted players – in the Premier League, and he also has the muscle to open up space. Between him and Havertz or Gyok, things would happen.
I think, Bert a and Aretha have so far recruited players that Arsenal really need. The postions that have been addressed, especially the striking line. The signing of Victor is very important. We badly needed a striker. On the other hand, we need to sell some players. The likes of Zichenko, viera, Nelson, LoKonga, Hein, Jeus and Maybe Trosard or Martineli.
I’m so excited about the incomings so far and Eze will be a good signing. Looking at his versatility he’s going to really add quality and upgrade to the team especially on the left wing. I think it’s hightime now we look at outgoings after Eze deal and see if we can recoup some money to cover for some or part of our spendings this summer.
Ofcourse it’s obvious, Arsenal needs Eze for the puzzle to stand clear I wish we can get him………
There’s no arsenal player currently that can go on a solo run and cause some problems for the opponent, not even Odegaard. Eze is that one man that can cause upsets, he’s good with the ball, he’s got eyes for goal. He’s a perfect piece that completes the puzzle. If Arsenal fails to get Eberechi Eze, then I can bet u it’s another season in futility. Get Eze and give Liverpool a fight because as far as I’m concerned, they’re likely retaining this title. Mancity doesn’t even stand a chance, so get Eze a give Liverpool a proper title challenge

2nd May 2023 Maddy did just that against us. Won duel after duel. We won 3-1 but look liked we could lose when Maddy got going.
Eze will always be benched at Arsenal, just like he will always start from bench in internationals – he’s a magician but without a position – so higher up the quality ladder where the side isn’t built around him to cater for his weaknesses, where he has to fit in to a system, he doesn’t start for England or Arsenal ahead of proper winger, doesn’t start at 8 ahead of Rice becuase he can’t do the helping 6 and defence side of the role, can’t start ahead of Ode at 10 as his passive passing doesn’t have killer through balls.
Magicians without positions need to stay at middle ranked clubs and have team built around them. All you need to wake up to this truth.
Only time will tell if you’re right or wrong @ moon girl. Am hoping we sign him & he comes good though. Fresh blood & all.

Absolutely nothing, no trophy to show for it. He’s not gonna do everything of course but he’ll definitely compliment the effort of others. There are matches Odegaard doesn’t live up to expectation, if Eze doesn’t make the killer pass, he can create magic out of nothing. It’s like u’re not tired of getting embarrassed by this crazy arsenal team. Have you asked urself why Arteta wants him? He’s taken a look at the team and seen what Eze will bring to the table
