Full Arsenal Injury Update – All positive news after internationals so far

Coming up to October Arsenal would normally have a long list of injuries with quite a lot of them long term, but right now our treatment room is very close to being emptied. First of all we have our captain Laurent Koscielny, who was thought to be out until after Christmas at least, but his recovery has been better than expected. He is now expected to return to training in a couple of weeks, but he will need at least a month to get back to full fitness.

Mesut Ozil missed our last game against Fulham with a ‘back spasm’ which sounds worrying, but apparently he has fully recovered and is back in training now..

Matteo Guendouzi was given a kick by a team-mate while training with France, but despite the photo with the ice pack on his leg he is expected to be available for next weekend’s game against Leicester….

Our new young star Ainsley Maitland-Niles has also now returned to full training following a small fracture to his left fibula and should be available for selection very soon..

Not much has been said about Dinos Mavropanos’ groin injury but is yet to play for the Gunners this season. We can expect him to be fit enough to return to training before the end of the month…

Our only England international Danny Welbeck was withdrawn from England squad with minor hamstring issue. He will be assessed ahead of the Leicester game but is expected to be available…

And last but not least, we have Petr Cech, who amazingly is already back in training after looking dead and buried against Watford just a few weeks ago. He could even be available for the Leicester game and it will be very interesting to see if Emery re-instates him as his Number One….

So that’s all looking very positive to me. We just need to get this last round of internationals out of the way….

  1. Good to hear the hardworking players are getting better, because Arsenal need them to keep up with Leicester City player’s energy

It would be better if Emery plays the same four attackers (Lacazette, Welbeck, Iwobi, Mkhitaryan) in 4-4-2, because they are proven to be highly effective in destroying Fulham

Besides, Arsenal need to get Welbeck to sign a new contract

    1. I disagree with you on this sire. We were pretty ineffective against Fulham bar two somewhat lucky goals. We tored them apart after the sub. You could say it’s our normal tepid first half performance and I’ll agree with you

  2. That’s good news! Now all we need is the players on international duty to come back unscathed & we can pick up where we left off ? COYG

  3. I don’t like how CC’s loan has been going, compared to last season’s one it seems like a mistake. I think they might prefer him to go under the radar so they can offer to buy him at the end of the season, and if he doesn’t start excelling ahead of others over there I think we’ll accept.

Did Holding not get an England call. He’s been doing well enough but I’d be a bit hesitant to give too much appraisal. Too early and we’ve been conceding chances, but himself and Mustafi in the last game was prob our most solid CB pairing in the league.

Good to see France still class Arsenal as a huge club. Not many players could’ve played the minutes Guendouzi played and gotten a call up to the France team. Considering their midfield options it is something. Don’t know if its a case of nailing his nationality down or if its purely football reasons. Fair play to the lad either way he’s really made an impact on the fans.

I’ve been loving Danny’s off the ball work this season, he’s been absolutely tops at it and I hope he can get back among the goals sooner rather than later. He needs to want it more, now more than ever. He’s a useful player and I’d say he must be horrible to play against.

Great to see Cech’s back. Leno looked good all the same. His saving/shot stopping wasn’t at the level of Cech’s but with everything else he had an argument. His speed off the line, his passing of course. He didn’t have too much trouble with in-swingers he got to a few and punched them clear. Not sure if Emery will put Cech straight back in, maybe the game after, so Leno has a chance maybe and to hopefully impress.

    1. In my opinion, Chambers are more suited to be a DM than a CB. I hope Fulham use him there

Welbeck’s understanding with Lacazette at Fulham was amazing and I believe it is because Welbeck is an excellent team player. I hope Emery wouldn’t change this winning partnership in the next EPL game

    2. We all know Southgate is a Spurs fan, so never depend on him choosing any player linked with Arsenal…… biased guy…. overrated coach… he will even take an injured Dele or Kane….. He’s only taking Danny because hes an England favorite regards to his previous performances (Was top goal scorer before Kane become good)

      1. Why on Earth would any deep thinking Gooner want to load extra games on our players by also playing internationals? MORE TIRING AND IT CAN ONLY HARM , NOT HELP ARSENAL. DON’T YOU SEE THAT!

  4. I think holding doesn’t get enough credit.

he is an old school english no nonsense defender.

he isn’t know for his passing or vision but the boy can defend.

wins all earial duels, can contain any striker(costa in fa cup),play tough if need be.

HOLDING and IWOBI will benefit the most from a change in manager.

    1. They’ve done well these run of games. Still waiting until the whole season plays out before getting too excited. But they do deserve credit for their recent form. If AW was still around they both would’ve continued to regress.

  5. Good to see Cech back but I hope Leno keeps his spot, he done well last game and shouldn’t be dropped just because Cech is fit again, he has to win his spot back like Leno has to perform to keep the spot.

I was saying that Cech will be our starter when Leno was bought, I do not think Cech has suddenly become bad, it is how we do things that matters though and we had to get Leno fighting and pushing himself rather than walking in and having things handed to him.

At the same time, Cech can’t just walk in and have things handed to him, he has to earn it back when he gets the chance… and now that should be on Leno to perform and not give him that chance.

  6. Let’s wait for Unai Emery to give the update on the Arsenal team news this coming weekend for us to know if Welbeck – hamstring and Guendouzi – knock, will be available for Leicester or not.

  7. I am hoping Emery starts the same team against Leicester, a more balanced team without Ozil and Ramsey. Some are saying it was the changes that won us the game, but from memory we were leading 2-1, after gifting them a goal and a team chasing a game will leave more spaces behind which we made use of with fresh legs. Aub and Ramsey would not have had the space given if it was not for the work done by Mik, Iwobi and Welbz
