Everyone that loves or loathes Arsenal is opining on ‘will we finish top four’, ‘will Aubameyang win the Golden Boot’ and ‘can we lift the Europa League’ and so it is only fair to include the bookies in that discussion, after all, they do not look at it from an emotional point of view but from a purely financial point of view based on weight of money.
Let’s kick off with finishing in the top four and they have us as red hot favourites to end up in a Champions League qualification spot.
They make us favourites with a best priced 2/5, followed by Tottenham at 8/15 then Chelsea at roughly 13/8 and the new outsiders Man Utd at 9/4.
In the Europa League, they have Chelsea as firm favourites at 15/8, followed by our opponents in the quarter finals Napoli, at 4/1, we are available at 5/1, which looks like astounding value to me, then Valencia on 8’s and the rest over 10’s
Finally, the Golden Boot and not surprisingly they have Sergio Aguero as clear favourite at 6/4 with Harry Kane next at 7/2, Mohamed Salah on 5’s, Aubameyang can be had at 8’s and Sadio Mane at 11.
So, according to the bookies, Arsenal and Tottenham will finish top-four, Chelsea will win the Europa League and Aguero will be crowned top scorer.
I do not agree with all of that, I actually think we have a great chance of Europa League glory and feel we are well overpriced. And Aubameyang has to be worth a small bet at crazy odds of 8/1, I mean, a couple of braces or even a hat trick and bang, he is then in pole position.
Anyway, those are the odds and I am not recommending do any bets, the whole purpose of this article is to give an overview of how the bookies see the season ending, nothing more, nothing less.
