Top Four, Golden Boot and Europa League – what the bookies say about Arsenal’s season end

Everyone that loves or loathes Arsenal is opining on ‘will we finish top four’, ‘will Aubameyang win the Golden Boot’ and ‘can we lift the Europa League’ and so it is only fair to include the bookies in that discussion, after all, they do not look at it from an emotional point of view but from a purely financial point of view based on weight of money.

Let’s kick off with finishing in the top four and they have us as red hot favourites to end up in a Champions League qualification spot.

They make us favourites with a best priced 2/5, followed by Tottenham at 8/15 then Chelsea at roughly 13/8 and the new outsiders Man Utd at 9/4.

In the Europa League, they have Chelsea as firm favourites at 15/8, followed by our opponents in the quarter finals Napoli, at 4/1, we are available at 5/1, which looks like astounding value to me, then Valencia on 8’s and the rest over 10’s

Finally, the Golden Boot and not surprisingly they have Sergio Aguero as clear favourite at 6/4 with Harry Kane next at 7/2, Mohamed Salah on 5’s, Aubameyang can be had at 8’s and Sadio Mane at 11.

So, according to the bookies, Arsenal and Tottenham will finish top-four, Chelsea will win the Europa League and Aguero will be crowned top scorer.

I do not agree with all of that, I actually think we have a great chance of Europa League glory and feel we are well overpriced. And Aubameyang has to be worth a small bet at crazy odds of 8/1, I mean, a couple of braces or even a hat trick and bang, he is then in pole position.

Anyway, those are the odds and I am not recommending do any bets, the whole purpose of this article is to give an overview of how the bookies see the season ending, nothing more, nothing less.

All odds were sourced from oddschecker on Wednesday 3rd April at 09.00 UK time and are subject to change.

  1. Why d’you worry about upsetting people Admin, good article apart from love or loathe, I’ll think you’ll find most are in the latter camp. Personally I’d settle for top four. Wonder what Jon Fox thinks of those odds, he tells us he’s a gambling man. Well Jon?

    1. I have already posted my thoughts a day or two ago Kenny. Right now I’d say we are at best only 50/50 for top four. I have bet against us making it. At such favourably low odds it is mad, as a betting man, not to lay Arsenal.

  2. Tottenham and Chelsea just won, so the ball is in Arsenal’s court now

I’m curious to see whether the pressure would make the players bottle it as what they did in the previous two seasons or make them unify instead

  3. Off topic,I loved lacazette post match interview”I,d love to score mor gosls away but the most important thing for me are the 3 ipts is the way we play as a team what I like in this new arsenal is the mentality!!!lacca ,aubey priorities the team over individual awards mind you theyb be good, ozil was happy with his MOTM !but got back congralutatint the team and every single player,if if only we couid go nacj and find a way to keeo Rambo at arsenal and our captain please!!

  4. We got a shitty EL draw and Chelsea got a free ride to the Final. I think Spurs will be 3rd and we will squeeze in to 4th.

    1. No comment!

  5. I don’t see us winning Europa. Def possible but not probable Napoli, Chelsea, Villarreal, Valencia, Benfica are all tough opponents. Although, Emery has won 3 Europa League trophies in a row. So that’s definitely a positive

Top 4 and golden boot is def more possible now.

At the beginning of the season I thought Europa League was more possible than Top 4, so Emery has done a great job.

On paper and according to squad lists, we should be 6th place

  6. Europa league will be tough. But if we want to be a big team we have to deliver big performances, and getting past Napoli is the time to do it. As for Top 4. The ball is in our court. Show up or bottle it, not much more can be said about that.
