Granit Xhaka gets sympathy from one of the great managers

Pep Guardiola sympathises with Granit Xhaka and calls him an “incredible” player.

Granit Xhaka has enjoyed some support since he fell out with the Arsenal fans last weekend.

The Swiss midfielder surprisingly refused to apologise to the Gunners’ fans for his actions and instead issued a statement ‘explaining’ what happened to him and the reason for his actions.

He has been slammed by most fans but also had sympathy from some. It now seems one of his big sympathisers is Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola.

Guardiola insisted that Xhaka was an “incredible” player who just allowed his emotions get to him as they do most times as footballers.

Pep has had his share of emotional outbursts having been sent off on several occasions before now.

Pep understands Xhaka emotions

“We have to respect our supporters, it’s not easy for the players sometimes. I can understand Xhaka – the emotion of that moment even if I don’t know exactly what’s going on inside.

“Maybe I’m not the best guy to say that because sometimes I lose my emotions and cannot control myself. But you have to try because at the end of the day it’s just a game so have fun and try to do your best.

“I’m pretty sure Xhaka gives absolutely everything to do his best for Arsenal and their teammates to get them winning games.

“He’s the captain because he has something special in the locker room. It has happened, sometimes you lose control.

“It will be forgotten and move forward, hopefully in the future the fans can forgive him and Xhaka can come back and show what an incredible player he is.”

Xhaka is not the first player to be at the wrong end of fans frustration. It also does not help that he is the team’s captain, he should know better.

He has been taken out of the team for the time being and will miss Arsenal’s next game against Wolves.
It is unclear if he will ever wear an Arsenal shirt again. However, what is sure is that he will struggle to gain the support of the club’s fans again.

  1. Pep, i think he would be the final piece in your jigsaw. You can have him for £200 mil and Aguero, fill your boots.

  2. Beauty is in the eye the beholder. But then, I will dare to say that Pep knows a thing or two about football and football players more than most here on this platform.

For him to say that Xhaka is “an incredible player”, he must know what he’s saying. I am sure he wasn’t saying it tongue-in-cheek.

Coaches know what they want in players, which to the uninitiated, are not so obvious. There is more to football than most us know and that is probably why most of us are not coaches to elite clubs.

Except someone dares to say that Pep is a muppet and an ignoramus, for saying what he was quoted to have said.

  3. Pep was a player beside loving this game, he is a super coach who looked up to Wenger, he is being what Wenger would; Protect player, put it on himself for not being best person to give his opinion. Class and total respect to Arsenal he respects and loves; Mr Wenger.

Xhaka is a great player he would have signed but Emery plays him out of position ,,to please Kronke. He is not a DM nor can play Ozil game, but right in between!

    Nite yo.
