All bad luck gone and good luck ahead for Arsenal?

Let’s be honest, Gooners, and admit that Arsenal need all the help we can get if we are to avoid this season being a complete disaster. Nothing can stop it from being a disappointment, after a 13th failed Premier League title challenge in a row coupled with a humiliating record breaking knockout defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

There is still plenty to play for, though, even if we are struggling to get excited right now about another top four finish or even an FA cup trophy win. Neither of those are looking particularly likely right now, although we can be a lot more optimistic after the last two rounds of Premier League action, but I still think we need lady luck to be on our side from now on.

To be fair, she does owe Arsenal a few favours after another season of awful injury blows and poor decisions from the officials and they do say that luck is supposed to even itself out over the course of a campaign, so maybe those penalties we should have had but were denied against West Ham and the latest minor knocks that have ruled out Koscielny and Ospina will be the last bits of bad luck the Gunners get, for a while at least.

If no more bad luck comes our way then Arsene Wenger will soon have a full squad of players to choose from, excepting Santi Cazorla, and the confidence and form is growing and should continue to do so with two very winnable games against Crystal Palace and Middlesborough coming up.

Will it be plain sailing and fair seas from now on?

    1. LOL…
I actually define luck as ‘when preparation meets desire’.
Don’t blame ‘mother luck’ if you don’t prepare, or have a desire to make things work.

  1. I realize this website is dying as Arsenal perfomance drop, today was the first time I logged in to this site since October last year. I guess Im not the only one who is dissapointed in Arsenal this season.

Miss the good ol days when chats go to 100+ comments. still a good website

  2. It hasn’t been bad luck, there has been something seriously wrong with the team. There was no excuse for losing to West Brom, Watford and Everton, and had we won those as any title contender should do, and had we put in any effort would have, even if we had lost to Liverpool and Citeh (away) as we did, we would still be 2 points behind the spuds with a game in hand. I know it all ifs, buts, and wherefores, but we showed no ambition to win any of those 5 games, which is why we are where we are.

  3. In life you make your own luck. The injuries i used to think where bad luck, however since Wilshire has gone to Bournemouth and not been injured all year i now think it’s the managers training methods. We seem to be the only top team to suffer with so many injuries and that ain’t luck.

  4. Its not about good luck or bad luck.
Its about Arsenal being rubbish and being managed by an idiot who makes the same mistakes over and over and over again..
Its about a board of directors obsessed with making money and ignoring the core objectives of the club to that end.
Its about a board of directors who will sit on their hands and do nothing – taking the easy option instead of doing whats right.
Its about the fans who will be duped once again in June with talk of upheavals and player purchases – just before season ticket renewal date.
Its about all the negative aspects of Arsenal (and there are so many) being repeated once again next season and the cause of these problems STILL being in post..

  5. Ahhhhh I see, bad luck is the reason we are 6th and got spanked twice by the same team 5-1. It is the reason we fail every year to win either at home or in Europe.

Yes, that’s it. It has all become clear now.

AWs programming has worked wonderfully on you. You now accept whenever all facts point to the contrary that misfortune and official decisions are the reason for our decline.
