Have Arsenal REALLY tied up Khedira for January transfer?

Unless he signs a new contract in the next eight months, Arsenal transfer target Sami Khedira will be able to walk away from his current club Real Madrid and the Spanish giants will not receive a single euro in compensation. Even with all their money, that is not a good situation and they do still have to comply with the FFP rules laid down by UEFA.

So maybe there is some truth in the rumour that the Gunners have agreed a transfer fee of around Β£11 million euros with Madrid to sign the Germany international in January. But don’t get too excited just yet Arsenal fans, because the report has come from Caughhtoffside.com and thy are not always the most reliable source of information.

But as I say, there are reasons to think it could happen, as Β£11m is better than nothing at all. Arsene Wenger, if the rumour is true, would still have to persuade the central midfielder that the Emirates was the place for him and come to some arrangement on his high wage demands, but he would be certain to play regular games which he is not doing in La Liga at the moment.

For those fans who might question why Wenger did not go all out to sign him in the summer, it may be something to do with concerns over his injury problems, while the next few months will give Khedira a chance to show he is back to full fitness after his knee operation. If Arsenal are not to sign Khedira in January, I think we are all hoping that the Frenchman has someone else in mind, but who would you like to see come in?

  1. we don’t really need kehdira he is not a DM he is a box to box midfielder and we have Rambo. Mr Wenger if you r really in market please bring as a real DM who can give a good cover for our defense.

  2. No we haven’t. If wenger had wanted Khedira, he would’ve got him this summer.
Off topic – Does anyone think that Ramsey is struggling because Giroud isn’t playing? Ramseys drastic drop in form happened at the exact time Giroud went out injured. Maybe Girouds game complements Rambo more than Welbeck. Giroud gets a lot of stick, from me included, but he may be vitally important to Ramseys game.

    1. no, not at all. Now Ramsey has better rounded striker in Welback plus Sanchez. I think this dip in form is just a temporary and he will get back to his best very soon

      1. A combination of a dip in form and having to adapt to new players around him I think. Ramsey and Giroud made a decent partnership last season though, they assisted a fair amount of each other’s goals.

    2. I think its because hes playing further up the pitch and hes struggling in that position and its led to a dip in confidence, him and jack just dont play well together.
On saturday his passing was abit off but overall his game was much better and he was directly involved in all 3 goals.
I really hope we stick with the 4231 even ozil said that the system we played on saturday is our usual system one that every one is more comfortable in.

  3. Who cares at this stage, nonsense I suspect. Ot, I watched the Chelsea v man city gane again and noticed a key lesson about how city ligned up. Chelsea are a physical side and city brought in kolarov for clichy and mangala for demichelses. There back 5 of kompany, mangala, kolarov, zabaletta and fernandinho was fierce and they got physical and in chelseas face. I hope that we side our most physical players against chelsea when we neet them. I’d like to see chambers in fot per, flamini and jack/ramsey in front of the back four, ox lw, sanchez rw and probably cazorla or rosicky at 10 as ozul lacks any physical presence. What do you think?

    1. Cazorla lacks physical prescense aswell, would rather start Rosicky, Gnabry or Podolski if the criterium is physical power. Of course Diaby is our biggest power house but I fear he’ll get injured against Chelsea.

      1. In big games you need your best players. We should not bench Γ–zil because he’s not ‘big’, the same way City would not bench David Silva.

In big games our problem is Arteta being closed down and put under pressure – our midfield panics and loses the ball, so we get countered and they’re straight at our back four. How do we stop this? Arteta cannot play in big games. He’s good against smaller teams, but for the best teams we need a replacement.

We need a powerhouse that will not be pushed off of the ball, that is composed and can distribute the ball well to launch attacks. The best player we really have in the team for that role right now is Chambers. Seeing as Debuchy is injured, it would mean Bellerin would have to cover Chambers at right back too.

        1. We can’t play Bellerin against Hazard unless you crazy. I for one would not do it unless I would be forced to. I hope Chelsea will rush with all their lines at us so that we can cut back with Sanchez and Welbeck.

    2. That’s pretty much our most physical lineup. I doubt we will play it like that.

      Szceszny
      Chambers-Mert-Kos-Gibbs
      Diaby/Flamini
      Wilshere-Rosicky-Ramsey
      Welbeck/Sanchez

  4. I’m kind of baffled that the BBC is reporting this ‘gossip’ when it has 0 reliable sources confirming it. I hope Khedira comes, but I would still prefer an out-and-out defensive midfielder.

  5. source: caughtoffside. really? I might sound harsh, but please dont write articles regrading anything that comes from that source. Thanks in advance.

    OT: something interesting
    Leicester City 2 – 2 Everton
    Everton 2 – 2 Arsenal
    Everton 3 – 6 Chelsea
    West Brom 0 – 2 Everton
    Everton 2 – 3 Crystal Palace

so thats 1 win, 2 draws and 2 losses to Everton with a pretty decent squad. In case anyone doesnt get it, yes, I am having a pop at Martinez. I know its only 5 games etc etc, but if this was Arsene’s result, what would have been the outcome? I might be pre-mature in having a go at managers. but hey that never stops anyone from having a go at Arsene after 1 bad game.

    1. I would be over the moon riding on a meteorite if was on half of that a week πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

    1. Meh. Not really ruined him. Besides, who knows what form will Giroud come with after the injury? I thought he was pretty sharp before his injury.

  6. Summary of our season to date. Two wins and a draw against two top five teams is good. As we saw yesterday a draw agiant leicester isnt bad as well. Once we click and sort out of defensive frailties we coukd be onto something. I hope when we pkay chelsea we park the bus and attempt to counter with welbeck, sanchez and hopefully Walcot

    1. We dont have “park the bus” type players. Chelsea parks the bus with 3 DMs, we only have Flamini who is an out and out DM, Arteta is trying to be one, and we dont have any quality in that position.

It is hard for us to play a defensive game with this squad.

  7. A dm like Bender, Carvalho, Wanyama, Schneiderlin would suit us better than Khedira, I think we have Ramsey and Jack who can both play b2b very well and if he can stay healthy Diaby is a beast in the position as well.

  9. Say this very truthfully-
Doesn’t Chelsea remind you of Pulis’s Stoke just except that they have some brilliant players?

Terry, Cahill, Matic, Inavoic, Apziluceita(speelling?), Costa are all above 6 feet.

Their formation against any big team whom they cannot beat by attacking football is 1-9-1.

They deploy 8 man after the ball and defending with Cesc and Hazard given a free pass so they can counter attack.

I mean what’s the brilliant master tactician in Mourinho after his well oiled defensive bus was opened up by 10 men.

I mean, do football fans sometimes talk out of their ar&e?

  10. I say a very big THANK YOU to @Sumo and @NY_Gunner for wishing me happy birthday yesterday….and Weldon to @gig is for comment on my birthday post also for the unknown 13 gunners who gave me thumb up, guys you’re wonderful I all are well appreciated.

  11. Don’t you love it how Chelsea fans are rallied at the mention of the bus.

I loved it how “Pelligrino” called Chelsea a small team and compared them to Stoke.

Anyone who gets to the Arrogant tw@t has my full support.

  12. Afobe is scoring for fun in the championship.. I think he has finally overcome his injuries, he is a very good finisher

    1. Yes, because Arsenal ever paid 32 mil for a defender. Not even Manure or Chelsea thought to pay that insane amount of money for a defender. Huge amount of money. Just huge.

    2. 32 mill for a defender, no thanks. And talk to Porto fans, Mangala is largely inconsistent, though he was excellent yesterday I’ll admit. Spain has a ton of talented defenders that cost less and and are just as good.

  13. There are a few significant things i learnt from Chelsea game:

    1. They are not invincibles. City had them by the scruff of the neck. 18 City Corners to Chelsea 1 is a mystery in itself. If Dzeko had a better game than things could have gone astray for the S*ums.

    2. Cesc Fabregas The Great was invisible yesterday. But he is learning the Special way i.e. a lot of cynical fouls and lucky to escape without a card.

    3. Mourinho isn’t the great mastermind tactician made out to be. I was feeling it was a Tony Pulis team at work. And i feel Pulis will do s better job given the recourses.

    4. They are beatable. And by us.
The same City who hassled them yesterday was the same team we had drew against convincingly at home, unlucky not to win.

There is always an extra motivation when we play them. And by the law of averages, everything balances out in the end.
Wenger has not beaten Mourinho yet.
    It will balance out.

We just need the team that turned up against City and Mesut, Danny and Ramsey in better form.

    1. Fabregas was lucky not to get a second yellow yesterday. That Dean scum was in bed with Maureen for the whole afternoon.
Now, I don’t know if we can beat them but I hope Wenger learned something about our last trip there. I am not going to lie here, I have put us for a draw at best and if Dean will be the referee then you can kiss goodbye to any chance of draw let alone win. This guy fu cked our game at City last season and many others so I wish him out ASAP.
If team is going to be be indeed turned up then we may stand a chance. They play Villa next weekend so they will have to open up another bus parking team.

    2. We need a better DM and a better Defense to beat the big teams. When our attacking clock is not kicking, we need the midfield fighters and defenders to pick-up the slack. So far this season we dont have that in the team.

Again, i really think we are one good DM and one good defender away from being a complete team.

With the team we have today, we are not well balanced to play against the big boys. City and Dortmund both ran rampant against our defense, two posts and a brilliant save and Kashri on offside saved us in the City game, with Dortmund we had no such luck.

Balance of the squad and the right tactics are key.

Look at Man U, Falcao, Rooney, RVP, Di Maria and Mata and no defenders, complete lack of balance.
