Have Arsenal scouts found replacement for departing England star?

While the season has been a pretty tough one for Arsenal fans to take, apart from the happy bookend that were provided by us beating Jose Mourinho and Chelsea to win the Community Shield and then the implosion of Tottenham that allowed us to nip past them on the final day and retain our stranglehold in north London, it has probably been even worse for Kieran Gibbs.

The England international left back has seen his hard fought battle for a starting place with Nacho Monreal turn into a very one-sided affair and so even though Leighton Baines has not had a great season with Everton, Gibbs has still not been selected by the England boss Roy Hodgson for Euro 2016.

I rate Gibbs and feel sorry for the guy but unless Monreal picks up an injury I cannot see Gibbs getting much more than this year’s two EPL starts next time. And at nearly 27 years of age, Gibbs will surely be looking to secure regular football for the rest of his playing career and that is why he is one of the favourites to move on from Arsenal in the summer.

And the Arsenal transfer news reported by Scotland’s Daily Record which reveals that the chief Arsenal scout Steve Rowley has been watching the teenage Celtic left back Kieran Tierney suggests that Wenger is ready to let Gibbs go.

Apparently Rowley has been impressed with the youngster and the report claims that we may be ready to make a substantial transfer bid of around £10 million for Tierney, so is it about to one Kieran in and another one out?
