How Arsenal CAN still win Champions League group

First of all I want to make it clear that I do not expect Arsenal to overtake the current group leaders Borussia Dortmund and win our Champions League group. I know that we are only three points behind the Germans and still have to host them at the Emirates, but they are playing much better than Arsenal, in Europe at least.

In the Bundesliga, they are having a shocking start to the season, with just two wins and five defeats so far. So we can hope that some of their domestic troubles start to spill over onto the UCL stage. To be honest we will need them to, because at the minute it looks like the Gunners are going to have to beat them by three goals in London to win the group.

Their other two games are at home and it is hard to see them dropping points against Galatasaray or Anderlecht, but you never know. One bonus for us is that they are away to Bayern Munich on the Saturday evening before facing the Belgians on the Tuesday. Fatigue of low confidence could come into play, while Anderlecht are due some luck after losing to us.

Being realistic, however, Arsenal will need to play out of our skins and catch Dortmund on the hop at the Emirates and that means a fast start. So the next few games are crucial for Arsenal and they do offer us a great chance to get on a roll, with Sunderland, Burnley, Anderlecht, Swansea and then a home game against Man United before facing Jurgen Klopp’s side. If we go into that game in good form and high spirits, Arsenal can still win the group. If not, forget it Gooners. How do you rate our chances?

  1. beat and outscore dortmund on match day 5(we’ll see) and on top of that beat gala away on match day 6(we always get complacent on the last day after we’ve secured qualification).

  2. with Inept Ars**hole Wenger stil at the Helm of the Greatest club Arsenal, sorry forget winning the group and just prepare to exit in thesecond round as usual

  3. The key to finishing top of the group is getting a big win against anderlecht at home (by 3 goals or more), and then if we take Dortmund by a goal or two we are right back in with a shout of winning the group… All in all the next two champions league games are pivotal to us winkin the group, but it can be done.

  5. Arsene has already stated that they have secured qualification and no hurry to finish second. He will make 5 changes to the gala match and 3 to the dortmund clash with some players involving yaya sanogo at the final fixture alongside arteta, monreal, wilshere, gnabry as well as rosicky, so guys there you have it an more predictable side placed in front of you!

  6. The team isnt up to his ability. Lacking of CDM and CB is hurting us and it might continue though out the season bcz Wenger doesnt see it . He is just too stubborn to see it ~ though i wish he can see it.

  7. Think we can forget about winning the BPL, with 5 draws and 1 lost. Champions league realistically we will not be win the group and we all know how difficult it’s going to be against the top teams so early. This leaves us the FA cup.. All i hope for this season are some good victories (pleease beat chelski for ones), goals, and singings we actually need so we’ll be ready for next season.
