Arsenal have been linked with a move for Spurs captain Cristian Romero, as the Argentinian is reportedly on his way out of Tottenham Stadium this summer.
Romero is an established Premier League defender whose experience could be really helpful to Arsenal as they look to continue winning trophies. He has been one of the most reliable players in the Tottenham team, but he now wants a change as he looks to ensure that he can achieve more at club level.
In recent weeks, several clubs have been working on a move for him, and Sport Witness reveals that Arsenal’s interest is genuine and that they have already made contact with his entourage.
Arsenal face competition for Romero
However, Arsenal are not leading the race for his signature right now, with Atletico Madrid considered his most likely next club as the Spanish side close in on a move for him.
He has given the green light for that to happen, and Arsenal could struggle to convince him to stay in London. Nevertheless, the Gunners surely have a serious interest in his signature in this transfer window.
Romero’s experience at the highest level makes him an attractive option for Arsenal, particularly as they look to maintain their position among the leading clubs in England and Europe.

Having achieved so much on the international level and won the Europa League with Tottenham, Romero would be one of the best signings Arsenal could make this summer.

The Gunners may face a difficult battle to secure his signature, particularly with Atletico Madrid currently considered favourites for his next move.
Arsenal’s reported contact with Romero’s entourage shows that their interest is serious, but the defender’s willingness to move to Atletico could make a deal difficult. The Gunners will therefore have to act decisively if they want to keep the Argentinian in London and bring him across the north London divide.

I have to slightly disagree with you regards Pascal Cygan. I think I’m right in saying he played some games in Arsenal’s invincible season. When given a run in the side he didn’t do to badly in my opinion. But it’s all about opinions as they say.
Now I’ll give a player, see if you agree. Probably the worst ever left back we had. Andre Santos, and he was Brazilian. What an absolute shocker he was.

I am going to have to agree to disagree with you on Pascal Cygan. There were so many games where he stepped up so badly on the offside trap.
IMO, Wenger’s greatest sale was selling Pascal Cygan for 2 million to Villareal (even better than Anelka or Overmaars).
I thought AFC paid 2 million to Villareal to take him.

The way I heard it, Wenger signed Stepanov’s on the say so of some players on a wind up. They we’re winding up Keown as for Stepanov could be his replacement, and so they were bigging him up, and Wenger decided to sign him. How true this is I couldn’t tell you. But that’s the way I heard it.

IGL, I also remember Gus. His debut was at Old Trafford in a 1-0 win for us. He was a RB that day and marked Jesper Olsen out of the game.

I remember Gus Caeser costing us the League Cup final against Luton Town. We’d come back form 1-0 down to go 2-1 up. When he decided to play keepy uppies in our box. He lost the ball and they made it 2-2.
And then I think it was one of the stein brothers. Brian I think it was, who went on to score for them in a 3-2 win.
I think his younger brother’s name was Mark.
Do you remember the game the same way I do?.
Derek, I was at the game and also thought he cost us the game when it looked like he fell over for their 3rd goal, but a few years ago I saw a replay and he was tripped by one of the Stein brothers.
Also we missed a penalty that would’ve put us 3-1 up. Don’t think Luton would’ve comeback if that had gone in. Iirc Nigel Winterburn took the penalty.

I remember the Winterburn penalty miss to. Although I must say that Rocastle went down very easily for the penalty in my opinion.
And just to say, I say that about my favorite ever Arsenal player. He always was, and always will be my favorite player, regardless of whoever plays for them.
