How tightness of EPL title race can help Arsenal

None of this will matter if Arsenal do not do their bit by putting the disappointment of two defeats in the space of a week away to Everton and Man City firmly to one side and start winning again, but I am pretty confident that the Gunners will get six points from the next two games, at home to West Brom and Crystal Palace.

That will certainly help to alleviate the despair of the Arsenal fans and it should give all of the under pressure players a big lift too. That would put us on 40 points at the halfway stage and even if Chelsea also keep up their current winning run it would give us half a season to close the nine point gap, which is more than enough time.

And I would expect the law of averages to kick in a bit to see the current league leaders drop some points, especially considering that there are six big clubs fighting it out at the top. Surely between Man United, Liverpool, Man City, Tottenham and Arsenal there will be a lot of pressure on Chelsea.

In fact you would expect all of these clubs to take points off the others over the course of the season and over the next month or so Chelsea have away games with Tottenham and Liverpool before the Gunners go to their ground. Of course having a very tight race for the title could make things harder for Arsenal but at the minute the most important thing is for something to stop Chelsea’s momentum.

How do you guys see the rest of the season going?

    1. hehehe true, at the end of season we all know what to expect. some things never change with Arsenal or JustArsenal.. same shit every season

  1. I’d like to be optimistic, but after watching Arsenal and all their main competitors this season all I can see is us, fighting for 4th spot with Man Utd and Spurs.

Chelsea look so organised and fight for everything, Liverpool never stop running or pressing and Man City will be a lot stronger with Aguero and Fernandinho back from suspension.

Unless there is a massive swing in performance levels and desire to win, we haven’t got a hope in hell. Everybody at the club, from the board down are too comfortable, the board make money, so don’t pressure Wenger, who in turn doesn’t put pressure on the players, the only time they might get worried if a top 4 place and CL money is at risk.

    1. I meant to add the players are in their comfort zone as they know there is little chance of them being dropped or sold, big money for doing very little, why bother too much seems to be their attitude, they all need a good kick up the arse.

  2. Almost impossible for us to win, as Wenger is very consistent with his mistakes, and if anything, he’s getting worse! We just need to get through this season, and pray Wenger doesn’t buy more rubbish in January, as I want the next manager to have as much funds as possible.

      1. Can we stop with this specialist in failure thing. I want Wenger to retire but I am not calling him a specialist in failure. Compared to who? To me? He’s a fscking success when compared to myself and probably just as huge compared with JAmerican.

        1. specialist in failure compared to managers like him.. you compare people with similar work or status. you can’t compare yourself to Messi or Ronaldo no matter what.. we have seen how he fails every season, he is a specialist in that

          1. Then leave that for managers like him to say it. That’s all. Besides, there are nt heaps managers leaps and beyond Wenger

      2. JAmerican, please stop following Arsenal.
You are a disgrace. Become a Chelsea or City fan, you clearly only want trophies and trophies only. I want a trophy with class written all over it.

        1. Are you f**king stupid or what? Who are you to tell me to stop following Arsenal and call me a disgrace. Respect other fans opinion instead of throwing you weak a** abuse. You or no other person can ever question my love for this club because you don’t even know me. I suggest you stay in your lane unless you want me to disrespect you every time I see your name pop up.

          1. You only chat shit mate. All this negative crap. On every single fucking post.
Get over it this shit happens ever year. Don’t like it, then fuck off.
Be realistic and realize that Arsenal ain’t a world class team, we’re mediocre nowadays. The glory days are over, now you can gloryhunt some more and become a Chelski fan.

          2. shut up whats with the lot of you constantly abusing and disrespecting the team and the manager and demanding respect for yourself? come down from the high horse i care more about the my team (arsenal) than you fans, and dennis10bergkamp thinks probably in the same way so why is it wrong if he disrespects you but its absolutely okay for you to abuse arsenal? the stupid people on here keep increasing

  3. Funny How some people defend Wenger when the “specialist in failure tag comes up” now be honest with yourself,if it is mourinho that had stayed up to 10 years at chelsea and didn’t win any major trophy, wouldn’t you that is defending Wenger call Mourinho worse name/s. What more do you sincerely think Arsene can offer this club? Be truthful to yourself,he failed this club in so many ways,he should quietly retire at the end of this season.

    1. Onochie, you weasel. You should be the first one to shut up when talking about Wenger. During the unbeaten run he was a genius and Arsenal was winning the title. Now suddenly you change your tune.

  4. Wow… just wow. I can’t believe what I’m seeing from some of the so-called fans. Enough with the abuse… and not just to the manager, the club, certain players, but also to each other. How about some respect? We’re all here for one reason, and that is to support our team, and express our opinions… in calm and professional manner. I’m not going to call names, but I have to agree with a few comments here, and I have noticed some things myself. When team is winning, everyone is happy… we hit a rough patch, and here come “keyboard warriors” with their pitchforks. I admit it, I get frustrated sometimes myself. But at the end of the day, there are more important things in life than a game of football… yes, it’s just a GAME. So treat each other with respect, and perhaps you’ll find supporting Arsenal a little more enjoyable.
