How to be an Arsenal striker – For Dummies!

Here is a little light-hearted break from the trials and tribulations of Alexis Sanchez’s possible hamstring injury. Before he went off to Chile, the official Arsenal website had a small chat with our new superstar striker (although they didn’t actually post it until yesterday, so maybe they are trying to deflect our attention as well?).

Lexi was asked about how he was finding it easy to adapt to his new centre-forward role, and obviously where do we all go when we want to know something? We Google it of course! And that is what Alexis did. “I like it as a centre forward because I can get involved in the play more,” he said. “I have the chance to drop deep a little bit more and that means I can link up with my team-mates more.

“[The manager] is the one who decides, he’s the one who changes things around and decides where we play. He asked me to play there so I said fine – I looked up some videos on the internet to see how I needed to adjust my movement and I’ve been adapting since then.”

It is certainly an interesting outlook. Personally I would have thought the training ground (perhaps with people like Thierry Henry showing you a thing or two.. Doh!) would be a bit better than Google, but hey! It’s working so far!

Now I’m just off to Google “How to be an Arsenal manager – For Dummies!”
