Arsenal take on Chelsea in their next Premier League game, and it is the match most people will follow as both clubs look to ensure they continue winning matches.

Both sides have started the season well, and this will be an early test of their readiness to challenge for the league title at the end of the campaign. The Blues have performed well under Xabi Alonso so far, especially in terms of scoring goals, although they have struggled to cope defensively.

Arsenal have always placed more priority on conceding fewer goals, and they have done well so far, keeping clean sheets in their opening two games of the season.

Arsenal face early title test

The Gunners remain the team to beat in the league this term, and many people believe they have what it takes to win the title again. However, there are still 36 matches left to play in the league, meaning Arsenal must maintain their strong start if they are serious about retaining the title.

Chelsea will provide a significant test for the Gunners, particularly given their positive start to the campaign. The Blues have shown they can score goals, while Arsenal have demonstrated their defensive strength, making this an intriguing contest between two teams with different qualities.

Both clubs will want to continue building momentum, and a victory would provide an important boost at this early stage of the season.

Wright backs Gunners to win

Ian Wright expects Arsenal to beat Chelsea when both clubs meet and believes the Gunners will come out on top. The ex-Arsenal striker backed his former team to claim a convincing victory, predicting a 3-1 scoreline.

Wright predicted on The Overlap:

“I think we are winning; we are winning this. 3-1 Arsenal.”

The prediction reflects the confidence surrounding Arsenal after their impressive start to the campaign. The Gunners have kept two clean sheets and will hope their defensive organisation can help them overcome Chelsea.

With both sides aiming to establish themselves among the teams capable of challenging for the title, the fixture represents an important early test. Arsenal will be looking to maintain their winning run, while Chelsea will hope their attacking strength can cause problems for the Gunners.

  1. I don’t think Chelsea will set up the same way as their three great results {without knowing yet true difficulty of their opponents} this season. Similar to Pep bringing down City early last season, his game plan was low block, and Chelsea will do the same on Sunday. It’s a complement and a recognition in a way.

Chelsea don’t won’t to see their early momentum and confidence get crushed like a bug in the ground, it won’t be a shock to see them park the bus, if they did escape with a draw they will party all the way home.

During our barren years without a title, Chelsea sides gave us proper humiliation and torrid times, away and home too. In my opinion it’s pay back time.

  2. We remember Wrights last prediction, that wasnt exactly correct was it and had it not been for Sanchez he would have ended up eating his words..

  3. How do Magalhaes and Konsa dovetail? They’re about to play together in a bigger contest and against a fearsome Chelsea attack. For this reason I expect us to concede goals though we win by finer margins. This Chelsea don’t worry about possession; they’ve become a smash and grab team under Alonso. Calafiori’s extra attacking force is pivotal to harness holes in their defensive unit
