Image: Confirmed Arsenal team for Burnley clash

The teams have now been released for the Premier League match between Arsenal and Burnley this evening.

We were already aware that Gabriel Martinelli, Thomas Partey and Nicolas Pepe were going to miss the matchup at the Emirates, while there was question marks over the possibility of David Luiz playing after his clash of heads with Raul Jimenez two weeks ago.

Mikel Arteta has a number of options to choose from at the back, with Pablo Mari and Calum Chambers proving their fitness of late, and he has opted to go with the below.

Is this the right team to end our woeful form of recent weeks?

    1. MA as to go now get Allgeri in now before in drop into the bottom 3 we or so crap MA please go and we half of the team with you

        1. What is good about the plan. Hoof ball to the Tierney from the back and hoof it in in the box where non of our players will make any contact.

  1. Xhaka has been a liabilty since he joined and the fact that he was not kicked out after telling the fans to f off shows how much the club values and respects the supporters.
Bringing in Arteta with no prior experience shows that those who run the club have no ambitions nor do they care about the values and history of our club.
A lot needs to change because its got rotten to the core.

    1. I have never ever agreed more with anyone in my whole life.
      Leicester
      Aston villa
      Wolves
      Burnley
All home games and a definite 12 pts yet 4 defeats
Maybe play the youngsters it cant get any more embarrassing and I mean embarrassing than this

  2. Burnley!!! Omg this is so embarrassing! Oh but MA is the right man I must not forget 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

        1. Hahaha it was all doom and gloom for me, but I had a laugh coz of this comment. We are so pathetic. We are woeful. We have regressed.

    1. Officially joined Artera Out camp. What a journey he has had, quite a lot of records he has broken on the way.

The pessimist in me had predicted 3 pts against Burnley and 1 pt against Everton for this month’s run of game. How much should I lower my expectations?

Saw Per4Mer sitting in the stands, seemed he was playing some game in his mobile. He might be in the dugout when we face Southampton.

You don’t give the youngster’s the start they deserve and expects them to deliver when everything is lost, great strategy.

  3. Arteta needs to go. We have no idea…no clue. He is out of his depth. He has to go. This entire club from top to bottom is clueless. Even our strikers after scoring bumper contracts can’t score….unless it’s in their own net!

    1. What was that magic points number we need to avoid relegation? Will we achieve it playing as we are at the moment?

    1. I was one that did and rightly so as we won the FA cup then the community shield we looked to be on course. Auba new deal then scores on the opening day win v Fulham then something has happend….

Cant be fixed by Mikel either so more problems than we know at the club.
Allegri In. I was wrong about Arteta can out my hands up to that

      1. No
        I have supported Arteta
But it isn’t open ended and I’m not afraid of admitting it hasn’t gone the way I hoped
        Happy?

    2. I supported MA, but now it seems that whatever good he did do has become undone. Defence, player spirit, tactics…all gone haywire. I think right about now, he doesnt look like the saviour he was last season…

  4. @ sue
I do believe he was and maybe even is.
But I also think this side are now playing for Mesut not Mikel!

    1. My thoughts as well. Normally in unionism it’s “an injury to one is an injury to all.” His decision to omit MO may be haunting him.

  5. Well he’s just got to go at this point hasn’t he? Let’s just admit he’s not going to recover from this and this team is not even close to being almost complete. Are we actually going to have to get Big Sam in? We’re battling relegation and there’s no excuse for that no matter how much one wants to
    Blame the players

  6. And that horrible Highbury hero..
    Joke..🤣🤣🤣
Love to read his funny posts and predictions before the match

    1. Jesus your a pretty horrible guy to be honest kedar, always slagging fans, you even said it’s good to hate arsenal fans if there like me, your really shameful bud get some class.

  7. That’s it for this arrogant coach!
Mikel Arteta has to go now!!!!!!

His problem started when he didn’t include Saliba into his squad.

I’m done with trust the process, what process when we can’t even create a single chance from an open play??

We need Mauricio Pochettino now; at least he’s got a point to prove by not winning a trophy with the Spurs. That’s an incentive he needs to do better with Arsenal fc.

    1. @Austine Wenger Arsenal is not good enough for Poch, he might end up in Madrid. The best we might get is Eddie Howe. Lets face that reality.

  8. @kedar.
I wouldn’t say heart and soul but you can add me to your list.
A young tactically astute and intelligent manager we should be lucky to have, however the players arent trying anymore for him.

    1. Then Emery shouldn’t deserve sacking either..
He also had same set of players..
In fact He didn’t have Partey and Gabriel…
So if Emery was wrong then why Arteta is not and players are??

  9. 55 year a gunner and thus is the lowest I have ever been, seen or had the displeasure to witness. Last one out turn off the lights and move on from the championship next year!!!!!!!!! Dear oh dear oh Dear!!!!

    1. Another of our positive records about to go. Can’t be many more left to break apart from the biggy as the longest serving team in the top flight! 😱

  10. Said at the start of season, the FA Cup win like wengers Hull win gave arteta one more season but he truly is clueless in breaking down teams like wenger in his last 5 years but at least we played some attractive footy under wenger.
Arteta has poor tactics and doesnt know how to modify during the game unlike emery and his tactics since the start has actually confirmed my thoughts that he has to go. I would even take allegri at the moment

  11. Of course it must be aretats fault that xhaka grabbed someone by the throat.
When does the Jan window open so much dross and quitters on this pitch.

  12. I am almost speechless.
I have defended Arteta to the hilt and at a point when at the start of the second half we looked good, Xhaka let the club down and Arteta seems unable to change anything

    1. Sometimes we want to be blind to the truth, SueP. I include myself. I so wanted to see MA make some positive changes but alas..

    2. The worrying thing right now is Arsenal as a brand is suffering. If after a public statement of backing by the CEO, the team performs like that, then I think business prospects will suffer and global fanbase dwindle. I dont think sacking the coach is the solution, and that the players are equally responsible, but at the moment the manager is the easy target.

      1. Well said Sid , but keep going up the food chain.

We are being literally ruined from the very top down !

I for one will speak up for Jon Fox on here.

He and I have continually said the buck stops at the top.

“Tosh” “Rubbish” we got all sorts back.

The American has not got a clue.

        Can absent Stan make money……yes.

Does he have Arsenal Football Club in his heart and blood……NO !

Nero fiddling while Arsenal burns .

And just remember M A may have been, just may have been, the CHEAP option – what a surprise !

By the way did the Rams win today ?!

        I await Mr Dangote’s move … a Gooner apparently.

  13. this is on the players, it has always been. What’s so difficult in taking your chances, this is a game of 2 halves, this game should have been won in the first half till that Xhaka got himself sent off, typical Leeds game

    1. We have more talented players than spuds but the tactics are to blame. Playing from the back, side to side ? Sad thing is players dont dare challenge the tactics or will get dropped like Ozil. A WC player and arteta prefers xhaka????

  14. Seriously doubt my stance on the manager now! Cant he switch things, when we are about to lose? 4th home defeat incoming and all he does is say we have to win? Atleast try something new, and not always take the same boring, predictable path that the team have been taking. Please MA, open your eyes! The sack is not far off if you continue like this…

      1. I still have some faith in MA, SueP. But if the players fail him always, then changing things up is common sense. I dont know why MA doesnt try out different things…

  15. I’m waiting to see if Arteta will condemn Dhaka after the game like he did Pepe.

Relying on Willian and Bellerin will get him sacked eventually.
    12 games, 13 points.
    Disgraceful.
Elneny the only midfielder who played like he wanted something from this game.
I’m tired of this imploding era

    1. Xhaka didn’t play badly before the redcard, he was so stupid with that reaction. More like he wanted to get sent off despite lacca intervention. We don’t have better sub for willian and Bellerin, at least i don’t think Cedric and Nelson are better

  16. Wake up people, the team haven’t got a clue because the manager hasn’t got a clue. Spurs look like world beaters and we look like anyone in the world can beat us.

    1. Funny enough he aint getting sacked soon. At least not this season.
I’ve supported Arteta publicly, but I’m also tired of some his decisions.
Why does he keep playing Willian and Bellerin?
The right wing is always dead as soon as those two start on the right yet they keep playing

  17. Hang on didnt wenger have rosicky ramsey ox iwobi santi welbeck Cech Wilshire giroud gibbs etc etc
Wenger always said no more than 3 signings a window as it inserted the side. This is a side very unsettled and playing awful football a team of individuals

  18. So now we have things to do;

    1. New Coach
    2. New Players in Jan
    3. Sell players at whatever cost
    4. Possibly non absentee owners letting others run their business

    Not that much I guess

  19. Surely this must be it. The truth is that I really wanted MA to succeed but it’s obvious he’s not the man. I keep watching for the movie to end but the this keep happening. Now I want him sacked cos of the following reasons;

(1). The is no clarity in our play. When teams play I see a laid down plan but all we do is kick and follow.

(2). Why he keeps playing Bellerin and Xhaka over Niles I will never understand.

    1. Game over for arteta
He has to be sacked and if you dont think so then you are a twat
      No idea
No clue how to break down a shit side
      4 home defeats
Ffs sack the c&%t and get someone in who can build a team as we have become a laughing stock

  20. What has Arteta shown to be deserving of patience?

    Still playing CM’s as FB’s

Still every attack is a cross from the wings

Still avoiding playing through the middle, still static positioning, no quick passes or running the channels.

Arteta has actually regressed from Emery. Enough said. Time for the sack

  21. Arteta has lost it. He deserves the sack. Martinelli is back. But Arteta would not consider him on the bench. Aubameyang should have been benched. We are a laughing stock

    1. Common Skills! Martinellii needs at least two or three full games before he can be considered match fit. Arteta has made bigger errors in this game. His reliance on the William, Eleny, Xhaka combination to get things going, ha Ha was cowardly if not moronic.

  22. Haters of truth where are you,, deeney said it earlier some individuals in the forum where attacking him for saying the truth,,,arteta, declined ozil ,xhaka and most players won’t take the club to anywhere,,, can ozil do what Fernandez is doing,?sometimes we are blind due to our thinking because we don’t want to say the truth or accept it because our opinion is fixated… Supporting arteta to bring arsenal back means the end of arsenal ,,,,

    1. Attacking him because hes an A hole. He used to talk smack about arsenal well before the decline.

  23. To think we Sold Martinez, loaned out Guendouzi for playing too rough & didnt give Torreira a fair shot and always included Xhaka. Let’s not talk about Ozil situation as we know that’s been the start of the downfall

    1. I said that guen had the fire and heart and would have been a captain but when he was dropped, knew arteta was clueless. Leeds sent Nketiah packing and won the championship but our clueless man regularly plays him.

  24. Can we start looking at possible managers who can turn things around? Thanks ARTETA for the FA CUP. We have had enough of this mediocrity

    1. lol completely untrue. I won’t celebrate his sacking but he needs to be. Christmas period disaster would surely be it

  25. am I sure these players aren’t planning on sending the coach away? I don’t really understand what is wrong with this team. simple things become difficult to do

    1. They are pure shit man can’t you see? Are you not watching the last 6 games in the league? I could pick
A team out of my local pub, if it was open, to beat Arsenal at the minute. Whats wrong? Rubbish!!!!!!

  26. We have a pile of shit that should have been f_ed out 2 years ago and they are still playing. Jeees I so fed up with this shit!!!!

  27. The MA worshippers must explain how this genius tactical maestro has taken our Club to the depths of the league. His brave ground breaking decisions are looking pure masterclass of incompetence. Burnley bottom 3 material he plays 2 deep lying midfielder then against Spur he plays one because he simply thinks Xhaka is the greatest. Sack him along with Edu and get a youth team coach in there

  28. The rot is from top. Start sacking the laurel and hardy team of edu and vinai with their shady deals! Then sack the pep water boy MA. had enough of this..

  29. @Gotanidea did I here u say Xhaka’s left foot…………well Xhaka my foot. Guys don’t blame MA cos everything was on track before Dhaka did what he is good for.
U are not playing well and u make a useless foul instead of u to keep ur mouth shut to prevent a yellow u showed the whole world how foolish a player u are to get a red.
If I was at Emirates I would boo so loud that I would be sent out of the stadium for mental check up.

    1. We have to blame Arteta. Everything was not on track before Xhaka got sent off. This is a team we should have scored 3 goals against in the first half. We keep playing useless crosses into the box. We have a midfield that ant even dribble past players. Arteta is very defensive. He should be sacked immediately. Smith Rowe should have started. Martinelli is also ready. I suggest we sack arteta and bring in nagelsmann

  30. How about switching Thursday teams to Sunday teams. Aside Xhaka, AUBA is the next worst player, followed by lacca, bellerin and willian.
Even if the coach is telling you to loose as experienced professionals this is the type of game you supposed to win at all cost. what’s with not scoring in first half

  31. Cedric Gabriel Mari Tierney

    AMN Elneny

    Smith Rowe

    Nelson Lacazette Saka

That was the team that should have started this match.

  32. Have supported Arsenal since 1969. Never seen such a mess before. Players I don’t respect. Non football people in charge of development, a couple of crooks in charge of recruiting and a cowardly manager who prefers to lose safe.
