Important dates for Arsenal fans to take note of – EPL, Europa League

At 09.00 AM this morning the Premier League will release the upcoming fixtures for the season and no doubt we will all pour over who Arsenal will be playing and when and we will be analysing it here at JustArsenal for sure but there are other just as important dates that we should all take note of as well.

The first big date is when does the summer transfer window shut? That will be at 5 pm UK time on Thursday, August 8th and that will be that until January 1st 2020.

The Premier League season kicks off just two days after that on Saturday, August 10th and will conclude on Sunday, May 17th.

There will be a winter break for the first time and that will become clear once the fixture list is released.

The draw for the Europa League group stages takes place on the 30th August in Monaco with the first group stage games taking place on the 19th September.

The final is on the 27th May 2020 at Stadion Energa Gdańsk, Gdańsk, which is a lot more accessible than what Baku was so that is something.

  1. I hope I will be happy on August 9th with our in and outs. I know I will feel relieved when the window closes. Lichtsteiner gone is a good start

    1. I’m glad the window shuts before the league begins.. so hopefully whoever we bring in (?) will be ready & raring to go come August 10!

    2. I’d be happier with the outs than with the ins, should Ozil and Mustafa bugger the eff off.

    1. Such poll would be futile, because Iwobi was obviously our best winger throughout the season

  2. August 8th is long enough to do another panic buy like Mesut Ozil and Lucas Perez purchases. I always hope Arsenal would do earlier deals, but they tend to wait till the last minute to get a marquee signing

I don’t know whether this is their strategy to deliberately cancel the big deal or not, but they managed to fool the fans by jeopardizing Luis Suarez and Thomas Lemar transfers. However, I’m glad Lemar didn’t come, because I knew he is just a one season wonder as what he has been showing at Atletico Madrid

I’m just concerned with the 10th of August, where we have to face Crystal Palace at their turf. Very late deals would make sure the new players to be unprepared to play in away matches

    1. I think they’re working on getting some people out before seriously bidding for players in the market. We’re definitely going to be short of good signings if certain flops stay at the club, so sales are more than necessary.
I’m pretty sure there’s simply no way for the club to find a suitor for 350zil with his recent performances and him being on a stupid wage but I do hope they’ll get around 40 million quid, should they manage to sell Mustafa, Jenko, Monreal, Kos, Elneny, and maybe even Chambers. As most of them are in the last years of their contract, I don’t see them leaving for more than 5 million each but even with that in mind, 40 million quid should be a realistic figure.

    2. Arsenal face Newcastle away on August 11th 2pm…
Dunno where y’all got Chrystal Palace from

  3. Just a question. Why so many articles every day, there were 8 dated 12/6/19 (yesterday)? I’m retired and even I cannot keep up with them, goodness knows how people who work, go to school or college manage to read them all. I expect another in an hours time when the fixtures are released. Perhaps a poll on the number of articles a day would be a good idea? By the way it seems it won’t be a blanket winter break i.e. a week or two without any games but staggered so some teams will be playing whilst others are “resting”.

    1. Because more visits means better SEO and more money:

    2. Don’t see anything wrong with the number of articles being rolled out daily …. I actually enjoy every single one of them and it doesn’t interfere with work whatsoever…

      Although a poll to gauge everyone’s preference isn’t a bad idea…

But I love the current status quo… @admin, thumbs up for the efforts……

    1. Contrary to the leaked fixture

Our September fixtures will be like this:

      Newcastle (A)
      Burnsly(H)
      Liverpool (A)
      Spurs (H)
      Aston Villa (A)

  4. Suarez said he wasn’t 50% fit when he signed for us and some how we didn’t know this even his medical.????
