Inspiring young Arsenal duo set for contract talks

Hector Bellerin and Alex Iwobi are set to be offered new Arsenal contracts in the near future.

The pair are currently away on international duty, with the Spain Under-21 and Nigeria senior sides respectively, and look to be set to receive pay rises on their return.

The Spaniard is said to be set to land a six-figure deal, with Arsenal keen on tying the full-back down to a long-term extension, with Manchester City and Barcelona both interested on tempting him away.

Bellerin still has three years remaining on his current deal, but with the vultures circling, improved terms are hoped to convince our young star to commit his future to the club.

Iwobi is not running close to the end of his contract either, having signed on until 2021 only in April, but his £25,000 per week wage does not match his first-team status, and he looks to be rewarded for his progression since breaking into the starting XI.

Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez are also believed to be in talks over new deals at present, with neither having signed anything as of yet. The pair are into the final two years of their contracts, although the pair are said to have high demands, and negotiations may take some time.

Per Mertesacker and Santi Cazorla are into the final year of their deals, and could both depart on free transfers, but with the latter’s importance within our first-team, he must certainly be due an extension. Koscielny is also said to be in his final year, but there are contrasting reports surrounding his contract, and if he is in his last year, he will no doubt be talking to the club about new terms also.

How much do Iwobi and Bellerin deserve to earn? Should their squad status reflect their wage or is there more to consider?
