With Mikel Arteta out injured (and Diaby of course but that goes without saying), Arsenal’s only real defensive midfielder is Matthieu Flamini at the moment. All our readers have been clamouring for Wenger to bring in a new beast to help out the defence but until now that seems to have fallen on deaf ears.
But today the Express believes that Arsenal are favourites to land the Ivorian enforcer Cheick Tiote in January for around £15.5million. It was recently reported that Tiote had told reporters that he had spoken to Arsenal about a possible move but the 28 year-old has since denied these stories. “I saw the quotes that appeared yesterday, but they are not accurate.” Tiote said.
“Yes, there was some interest in me over the summer and that can be a bit distracting, but nothing came of it.
“I’m back to full fitness and only thinking about doing my best for the team. We are not in a good position in the league right now and I want to get us up to where we should be.
“I am as committed as I have ever been to Newcastle.”
I’m not sure if he can be totally committed to a side that seems completely off kilter under Pardew and are looking like relegation fodder right now. Surely if given the opportunity to join a Champions League club like Arsenal he would jump at the chance?
How many of our readers think that Tiote is exactly what we need to tighten us up at the back? I would certainly prefer him over Khedira…..

Fabregas had a not so good game, but one opportunity and he provided a killer pass that lead to a goal. That’s what Ozil in the hole also brings. he may not have an active game but he would have certainly provided or made atleast one chance to Welbeck. Wilshear may run and dribble but its the passes that create chances goals.
I am sure with Ozil at no 10, we wud have had atleast more chances created. Wether they wud have been converted depends now on the person receiving the pass

We played well Yesterday, we lost to a better side (no harm there). We are not far away from them ( May be one or Two signings away). Flamini was solid if only he had felled Hazard outside the box, I feel he didn’t want to get a card that early in the game as he knows refs loves giving Arsenal players red cards. I know for a Fact that if we had fouled them the way they did us, one of our player would have seen red. And Ozil played a Free role yesterday but he didn’t put in his shift as he should have. Things would have been different if Walcott, Ramsey and Giroud were fit.

You cant expect a manufacturer to know the tastes and preferences of the customers if the customers themselves don’t know what they want. If Arsenal supporters knew what they wanted, definitely the board and Wenger would be no more.
when Wenger makes one good win everyone wants to have a share of his ass then when they see he is not good, they are like wenger out (Typical Arsenal fans). First get to know what you want and then other things come later. Is it so hard to call for wengers resignation?, no. Are you going to win any major honors with wenger, no. Are Monreal, Arteta, Flamini, Wilshere,Diaby, Cocklin, Podloski, Sanogo, Giroud, Rosisky7(at current form and age) Arsenal class? defininately a BIG NO. They are meant to play for teams like sunderland and QPR.

definitely even a small team can have a good game against a giant. We played like a small team with big balls against a big team. Since when did Arsenal not need world class players?Its high time we get out of the shells we are hiding in and understand that we have average players. The guy is quite expensive, and we have to wonder what different qualities will he bring to the table other than Flamini, who I think has been decent at least unlike Arteta.
Tiote is in my opinion very overpriced and a very reckless player who’s a bigger red card waiting to happen than Flamini.
What we need is Morgan Schneiderlin or a Matuidi-type of player (Kondogbia is a fairly good shout).
I also read in the German news that Juventus CEO confirmed his interest in Lukas Podolski, maybe Wenger can offer a big sack of cash (30?) along and try to lure Arturo Vidal to the Emirates?

When i read this article, am wondering if the author has ever watched a football game or he just loves to read the newspapers! How can anyone with a little football knowledge(with all due respect to Tiote) think that he is the one to solve our problems?? How some articles get published here i will never know!
We are back to the drawing board as we have lost 2-0 to Chelsea. One issue the boss should seriously looked into, is the crafty stretegy Chelsea employed in beating us at Stamford Bridge. They made sure of breaking down our free flow playing by niggling the Gunners with all sort of fouls which were ignored by the Referee. A possible CDMs for us is far. Meanwhile, we have to continue to make do with, Arteta, Flamini and Coquelin who are our natural CDMs. But the boss has not been playing Coquelin. We have to start recovering the lost ground when we host Hull City, play Sunderland away, host Burnley and play Swansea City away in the Barclays Premier League from 18th Oct. to 9th Nov. In between those games, we will play Anderlecht twice in the Uefa CL. Arsenal MUST win all those six games to recover from Chelsea Defeat. And then host Man U with confidence.
